Problem of plenty for England? Is that good or is that bad? We shall let that be decided by you. This was a tour which England played without many of their key players, yet, won. They have plenty of players who did well for their audition of the T20 World Cup and the hosts will hope that they get a few more from the Indian series and of course, The Hundred. It kicks off on Wednesday evening and on Thursday, the Men play. Should be exciting. We have got loads of cricket coming up for you, with WI-Aus, Zim-Ban, Ire-SA, then WI-Pak, Eng-Ind and next, Ban-Aus! Keep counting the months and you will get series on the fly. Do not forget to check all of those out in our scores section. Hope you enjoyed our coverage. Until the next time, ADIOS! TAKE CARE!

Victorious England captain, Eoin Morgan, says that this type of a win means a lot to his side. Stresses that this was the worst wicket in the whole series and with the boundaries pushed back, batting was nowhere easy. But ends by saying that England would have learnt a lot from this game. Details that in the UAE, during the 2020 Indian T20 League, the ball did not turn much at all. But this time, the pitches will be slow and the batsmen need to understand that they need to forge partnerships before playing their shots. Confirms that England are close to finalizing a squad of 17-18 members at this stage for the World Cup. Thanks the crowd for coming in large numbers for supporting them.

Pakistan skipper, Babar Azam, admits that batting let the team down, citing 10-15 runs as the shortage mark. But praises his bowlers for fighting hard. Feels that had he stayed on with Rizwan and got a partnership going, they could have scored more runs. Reckons that the batsmen did not struggle but just played poor shots. Backs his boys to play spin well in the UAE during the T20 World Cup. Thanks the support from the crowd and adds that they will miss the support in their Caribbean tour which is coming up next. Stresses that before they tour West Indies, they will sit down and discuss what went wrong in this series. States that Mohammad Hafeez is definitely a part of their World Cup plans and will be utilized accordingly.

LIAM LIVINGSTONE HAS BEEN NAMED AS THE PLAYER OF THE SERIES. Says that it feels nice to him to win the series on his home ground. Lauds his batters and bowlers for a good show. On his massive sixes, Livingstone says that he has been practicing in the last 2 years and it feels nice to see the hard work come through. On his useful off spin, Liam says that he bowls here in domestic games for Lancashire and was happy to do it for England in this game.

JASON ROY HAS BEEN NAMED THE PLAYER OF THE MATCH. On him backing his game plan, no matter what, Roy says that he was just looking to have some fun. Admits that it was difficult batting in those conditions and shyly agrees that he was lazy in his dismissal which triggered a collapse. Understands that on such pitches, you need to bat in a way which will avoid panic. Is sure that this kind of win will give them a huge amount of confidence, given that the T20 World Cup would be played in similar pitches in the UAE.

Earlier in the day, England read the conditions pretty well and choked Pakistan. The trio of Adil Rashid, Moeen Ali and Liam Livingstone did not allow Pakistan to score freely in the middle overs. And towards the end, when the ball started to reverse, England smartly kept Rizwan off strike and perhaps that stopped them from getting to 165-170. Again, fine margins in the game. Please do stay tuned for the presentation...

Both the teams played an innings which mirrored each other. It was Mohammad Rizwan for Pakistan, seemingly batting on a different track as compared to the rest, while it was Jason Roy fior England. Fakhar Zaman's 24 can be compared to Dawid Malan's 31 as neither batter got going. In the end, the difference was Morgan's cameo. Curiously, England always seemed to be comfortable till the spinners came on. They were 92/1 but then slipped to 112/4 in the span of 26 balls. Figure this out. Pakistan's spinners - 15-0-110-6. Pakistan's seamers - 4.4-0-44-1. Babar did have one over of Shadab remaining. In hindsight, he could have given that 18th over to Shadab.

A matter of small margins, did we say? Shall explain. With spin going so well for Pakistan, should Babar Azam have gone in with Hasan Ali in the 18th over? England needed 29 from 3 overs then. It came down to 16 in the last 2 with Morgan getting into his groove with 2 sixes in the over. It did cost Pakistan as in the end, there was hardly anything to choose between the two teams.

What a cracking match to end a fantastic tour. It has been played in fantastic spirit. Nothing asked, nothing given, it has been fair. England have just done enough to get across the line and it was a matter of small margins which has helped the home side win the T20I series 2-1.

ENGLAND SCRAPE THROUGH BY 3 WICKETS! Hasan Ali fires in a yorker, outside off, Chris Jordan backs away and looks to slash hard. He gets an under edge which just misses the stumps and goes towards fine leg. By the time the fielder can get to the ball, Jordan has returned for the second! He pumps his fists in ecstacy.

19.32

Smart batting! A length ball, around middle, Chris Jordan calmly flicks it behind square leg and runs back for the second! England need 2 from 3 balls now.

David Willey walks in at number 9, replacing his skipper, Eoin Morgan.

19.2W

OUT! CAUGHT! Morgan departs and Pakistan breathe again! A length ball, around middle, from around the wicket, Morgan shimmies down the track and looks to swing it to the leg side but the ball sticks onto the pitch. The shot is through early and the ball comes on late. It is miscued towards long on where Shadab Khan takes a sitter. Down to two new batters at the crease now. England need 4 from 4 balls!

19.12

DROPPED! How costly is that going to be? A length ball, around middle, Eoin Morgan looks to swing it to the leg side but gets a massive top edge. It is near where short mid-wicket would have been but that place is vacant. The bowler himself runs after the ball, gets to it, but cannot hold on! Two runs taken. England need 4 from 5 balls.

Chris Jordan walks in at number 8, replacing Liam Livingstone. 6 to win. 5 gets a Super Over.

OUT! CAUGHT! 6 and gone for Livingstone. This was more of a free hit for Liam, as Morgan would have wanted strike for the next over. Hafeez realizes that too and tosses this slower through the air. Liam Livingstone is already through his almighty attempted slog and gets a top edge. Simple catch for Sohaib Maqsood at short third man. England need 6 from the final over. Mohammad Hafeez finishes with figures of 4-0-28-3!

18.56

SIX! FEROCIOUS! Oh hellooooooooooo! We have done this before - remember the name! Only this time, it is Liam Livingstone! Full, outside off, Livingstone gets down and mows a massive slog sweep over mid-wicket! England need 6 from 7 balls.

Liam Livingstone walks in at number 7, replacing Dawid Malan.

18.4W

OUT! BOWLED! The match is still alive! The arm ball, straight, Dawid Malan backs away and looks to power this through the off side. But the ball pitches, skids through, beats the bat and hits the leg stump! Pakistan supporters roar. England still need 12 from 8. Super Over, anyone?

18.32

MISFIELD! That will help England. Full, around middle, Malan comes down the track and hits it straight down to Shaheen Afridi at long on. Should have been just a single but Afridi fumbles and the hawk-like eyes of Morgan spot that, and he charges back for the second. Hafeez is not happy. England need 12 from 9 balls.

18.21

Full, around middle, slower through the air, Eoin Morgan looks to play the slog but is early into ths shot. Gets a thick outside edge which rolls to short third man. A run taken.

18.11

Full, outside off, Dawid Malan swings hard but gets a thick outside edge. The ball flies down to short third man. Morgan pushes Malan into the single.

Back to spin. Mohammad Hafeez to continue.

SIX! CREAMED! Morgan has nailed this. Cutter from Hasan Ali and the over-the-wicket angle just makes it easier for Morgan. Till this point, Ali was bowling around the wicket. The ball is pitched up, around middle, Morgan walks across and skies this miles over mid-wicket! 13 from the over, could this be a game-changing gamble? England need 16 from 12 balls.

17.50

Another dot. The cross-seam ball, around middle, EM looks to pull but misses.

17.40

Down the leg side, the skipper walks down the leg side and Hasan follows him. Eoin misses his clip and the ball clips his trouser on its way to the keeper.

17.30

Slower ball now, on a length, Morgan looks to swing to the leg side but gets a toe end of the bat, which bounces past the off stump towards the keeper. Mohammad Rizwan appeals for LBW in a bizarre fashion.

17.26

SIX! JUST OVER! A bit too straight, as Hasan goes for the yorker, but does not get it right. It is right in the slot and Eoin Morgan flicks this uppishly. There is a man at deep square leg, Mohammad Hasnain, right at the ropes and he leaps but the ball just tips over!

17.11

A length ball, outside off, punched towards point for a single.

It is Hasan Ali. 2-0-9-0 so far. Watch out for the slower deliveries and the yorkers.

Commentary

The players are back out in the middle. Jos Buttler and Jason Roy will open the innings for England. It will be Imad Wasim to start off the proceedings. So let the Roy vs Imad battle begin...

... THE RUN CHASE ...

A kind of par score by Pakistan but they can still win this. England have stroke makers in their camp and this pitch is not exactly one for those type. Let's see how the run chase pans out. Do stay tuned.

Not the best of bowling efforts by England either. The seam bowlers went for runs and it was the spin trio of Adil Rashid, Liam Livingstone and Moeen Ali, who got them back in the game. The trio had combined figures of 11-0-75-5 while the remaining 9 went for 79/1. Rashid picked up 4 and was brilliant but the other two were excellently economical, conceding just 2 fours in 42 balls. Moeen did not concede even one.

A scratchy batting performance from Pakistan. Apart from Mohammad Rizwan, no one was able to adjust to the pitch. At one end, Rizwan was playing his shots fluently but every other batter, including the great Babar Azam, struggled to time the ball. Rizwan made an unbeaten 76 but England bowled very smartly in the last few overs. In the last 12 legal balls, Rizwan faced just 3. That tactic helped England claw the score back a little.

Excellent comeback from England but this is not a bad score by any means. A 150-plus score on a deck which is spinning, with a side which has quality spinners. England have actually done themselves a favour by not allowing Pakistan to go past 160. Just 41/3 in the last 5 overs.

Moeen Ali is up for a chat. He says that the pitch looks a good one, especially for the spinners but reckons that it would take just a partnership or two to get England home. On his bowling, Moeeen says that he did not concentrate on flight but just tried to land the ball in the right areas. On Adil Rashid, Moeen says that spinners always work in partnerships. Chides that Rashid told him earlier that he was nott feeling well, yet ended up taking 4 wickets.

Outside off, slower in length, Rizwan pulls it towards deep square leg and hares back for the second. PAKISTAN END ON 154/6!

19.50

That is a gem. Absolute gem of a delivery. Knuckle ball, outside off, Mohammad Rizwan gets across, looks to paddle-pull but simply does not get any pace to work with. Gets hit on the gloves and it goes towards Jos Buttler who fumbles and parries it to the leg side. Hasan wants the single and Rizwan responds but then sends his partner back.

19.41

This is good from Jordan. Another yorker, around off, HA digs it out towards long on. Chris Jordan gets across, looks to stop it, but collides into Rizwan and the ball escapes to long on. A run taken.

19.30

Terrific yorker, following the batsman down the leg side, Ali misses it comprehensively as he looks to flick.

19.22

Outside off, on a length, Hasan slices it over cover and gets a couple. 150 UP FOR PAKISTAN. 4 balls left.

19.10

Slower ball, on a length, outside off, Hasan Ali swings but misses.

1 over left. Chris Jordan will bowl the 20th over. 160 looks to be on the cards but Pakistan will aim to get close to 165.

17.42

Full, around middle and leg, Mohammad Rizwan digs it out wide of long on for a couple.

Hasan Ali steps in at number 8, replacing Imad Wasim.

17.32W

OUT! IMAD WASIM IS RUN OUT! Poor cricket from the southpaw. Short, outside off, Imad Wasim sliced it behind point. It seemed like it was in the gap but Jonny Bairstow gave it a good chase from sweeper cover to his right. He dived full stretch to his right and pushed the ball away. He then got up and returned the ball to Jordan who dislodged the bails at his end. England put in a formal appeal for a run out and as his duty, the umpire referred it upstairs. Replays showed that Jordan collected the ball, ran back and then threw it at the stumps, delaying it by a long time. Yet, Imad was short! Replays also show that Imad was jogging across and took the third after Bairstow threw the ball. Poor cricket.

Gone? We might have a run out here. That looked an easy three and England are not too bothered about the appeal. But up comes the replay on the giant screen and dear me - Imad Wasim is short!

17.21

A short ball now, pulled to deep mid-wicket for a run.

17.11

A length ball, around middle, Imad Wasim helps it off his hips towards fine leg for a single.

The arm ball, around off, from around the wicket, Fakhar Zaman looks to work it to the leg side but misses and is hit on the pads. Moeen Ali appeals but the umpire stays firm. Buttler is not that confident, indicating height but Moeen believes this is out. Morgan trusts his bowler and goes for the review. Ball Tracker shows it to be hitting leg stump! End of a struggle for Zaman.

Update from the Island nation - Not surprisingly, INDIA HAVE DEFEATED SRI LANKA BY 3 WICKETS in the second ODI in Colombo. The visitors were in trouble at a stage but Deepak Chahar's maiden half century bailed them out. Sri Lanka have struggled to beat India in India, in Sri Lanka, at a neutral venue and hence, they perhaps did not have the killer instinct to finish the game off when India were in trouble.

Missed it comprehensively and the keeper, Jos Buttler, completed an easy stumping.

DRAMA! A length ball, around middle, Rizwan looked to pull but missed. The ball went off his thigh and lobbed in the air. The keeper, Jos Buttler, ran across to his left and dived. England appealed for the catch but the umpire shook his head. Eoin Morgan then had a look at his keeper who just shook his head. No review then. UltraEdge detects nothing when the ball passes the bat. Off the thigh. Meanwhile, a single was taken, leg bye signalled.

Right then. Back to Manchester. The players are out in the middle. Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan are the openers for Pakistan. Who will open with the ball for England? It is David Willey. Rizwan to face. Here we go...

50 FOR DEEPAK CHAHAR! Told ya, that game is not done yet! India's new-ball bowlers - Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Deepak Chahar have raised a rearguard stand with the latter reaching his maiden ODI half century! India need just 34 runs more from 35 balls, with 3 wickets still in hand!

Pakistan (Playing XI) - Mohammad Rizwan (WK), Babar Azam (C), Sohaib Maqsood, Mohammad Hafeez, Fakhar Zaman, Shadab Khan, Imad Wasim, Hasan Ali (IN FOR AZAM KHAN), Shaheen Afridi, Usman Qadir (IN FOR HARIS RAUF) and Mohammad Hasnain.

England (Playing XI) - Jason Roy, Jos Buttler (WK), Dawid Malan, Jonny Bairstow, Moeen Ali, Eoin Morgan (C) (IN FOR TOM CURRAN), Liam Livingstone, Chris Jordan, David Willey (IN FOR MATT PARKINSON), Adil Rashid and Saqib Mahmood.

TOSS TIME! The flip of the coin has gone the visitors' way. PAKISTAN HAVE ELECTED TO BAT FIRST. Eoin Morgan has come at the toss, so the captain has taken one place for sure. Whose will it be? We shall find out soon.

Excited for The Hundred? England are about to welcome a radical change to the format of the game. They are a day away from introducing a 100-ball game, starting from the 21st of July, with the Women having a go at it, followed by the Men. Cannot blame the guys if they have already started thinking about that tournament!

Updates from across the globe. Bangladesh have completed a whitewash over Zimbabwe in the ODIs. The hosts did do well to put up a challenging total on the board but skipper Tamim Iqbal paved the way for a Bangladesh win with a stunning century. In Sri Lanka, the hosts are making India sweat it out in their chase of 276 in the second ODI, with all proper batsmen dismissed. Krunal Pandya and Deepak Chahar are in the middle, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar waiting in the shed. Sri Lanka may be on top, but just to remind everyone - FLASHBACK 24th August, 2017 - India were 131/7 chasing 237 against Sri Lanka in Pallekele - needing 106 from 169 balls. MS Dhoni was joined by Bhuvi and no wicket fell till the end of the game. So the Lankans would know well that even though India have their lower order at the crease, they can surely pack a punch. The Indians need 83 from 89 balls with 3 wickets in hand, with Krunal Pandya being the latest to get dismissed.

EID MUBARAK! We would like to wish one and all a very happy Eid. Pakistan and their fans will hope that they celebrate the festival with a win today.

Lights ready. Sound ready. We, ready. Are England ready? They are playing Pakistan. But which Pakistan? That Pakistan which can score 200-plus or that Pakistan which can keep throwing wickets at will? We are onto the final leg of this interesting tour of England by Pakistan, who started the ODIs as favourites, got whitewashed, only to hammer England in the first T20I to remind us of their potential. The hosts bounced back in the second game but can we certainly say that momentum is with them? Not when the opposition is Pakistan. Hello and a warm welcome to the third and final T20I between England and Pakistan at Old Trafford, Manchester.

... GAME DAY ...
