That concludes the proceedings for this exciting game and weekend. Saturday was not for the chasing teams but Sunday belonged to them. On Monday, Rajasthan will be facing Kolkata at 7.30 pm IST (2 pm GMT). You can join us in advance for the build-up. Until then, it's goodbye and cheers!

David Miller is the Player of the Match! Says that he has been working very hard on his fitness. Adds that this knock takes him back down the memory lane as he had won Punjab a game from a similar situation against Bangalore in the past. Shares that he sticks to his strength of seeing the ball and hitting the ball. Mentions that he wanted to express himself from the word go and that paid off. States that batting in the Powerplay allowed him more time. Praises the batting of Rashid Khan by saying that the Afghan's knock took the pressure off him. Miller further goes on to say that Rashid's knock was the game-changer. He is delighted that his team has won quite a few close games this season.

Rashid Khan, the stand-in skipper of Gujarat, says that it's an amazing feeling and this win is special and memorable. Adds that they just wanted to take the game deep and knew they have the firepower to chase down the target. Tells that they were a batter short but he has been working on his batting and he wants to play the role of an all-rounder. States that he backed his skills, stayed still and got the result. Feels that in the 18th over, he backed himself with the short boundary on the leg side and luckily Jordan bowled where he wanted him to.

A quick word with Abhinav Manohar. He says Miller played a blinder and he is pleased with the win. Mentions it was a great team effort and they did really well. Adds that Rashid handled the pressure well and was good with both bat and ball. Shares that he is enjoying his time and he is grateful for the opportunities he is getting.

Ravindra Jadeja, the captain of Chennai, says when they were batting the wicket was gripping and they felt it was a good score but they did not execute their plans in the last 5 overs. Mentions Jordan is an experienced guy and that is why they went with him but he went for too many.

Stay tuned for the interviews...

Chennai will be shell-shocked. They did most of the things right in the field but in the end overs, they lost the plot. Something similar happened with their batting innings also. After being in a good position for a big score, they slipped in the last 6 overs and managed just 45 runs. All these factors also played a role. Still, Chennai should have won this game after a great start with the ball but they fell on the wrong side of David Miller.

David Miller was the lone warrior in this chase but one cannot undermine the contribution of Rashid Khan. The Afghan went bonkers in the 18th over, targeted Chris Jordan and Gujarat amassed 25 runs off it to bring the chase alive. The equation narrowed down after that and despite Rashid getting out, Miller was there to finish the job. In hindsight, that moment in the 17th over when Shivam Dube lost the ball in the lights and Miller survived, proved to be the difference in a way. Those little moments always hurt you in this format.

Phew! What a turnaround! What a chase! Take a bow, Miller! Take a bow, Rashid Khan! This game was long gone from their grasp after early blows. The departure of Rahul Tewatia further pushed them on the back foot. But, David Miller refused to surrender. The South African rose to the occasion and justified his tag of 'Killer Miller'. 94 not out off 51 balls, 8 fours and 6 sixes and his knock stole this game right under Chennai's nose.

19.52

NOT OUT! Lockie Ferguson is in! He is in! Gujarat have pulled a rabbit out of the hat! What a win, what a win that is. This is a full toss on off, Miller mistimes it down towards long off. Bravo runs to his left, picks the ball up and fires it to the bowler. Jordan takes it ahead of the stumps, to his right and then whips the bails off. Ferguson puts in the dive but nobody is sure if he is in or not. It is taken upstairs and the replays show that Ferguson is in. GUJARAT WIN BY 3 WICKETS!

Is Lockie Ferguson short of the crease? All happening out there. The appeal for a run out is taken upstairs. Lockie is safe, his big dive has saved him. That's that.

19.44

FOUR! Just two needed now in two balls! Miller finds the gap. This is full, right in the slot again. Jordan misses his length. This is whipped through square leg and it races away to the fence.

19.41nb

NO BALL IT IS! It is a bonus run and a Free Hit too! Just one big hit away now! A high full toss around off, Miller swings, it goes off the outside edge and is taken at short third man. Chennai are celebrating but it is taken upstairs to check. Replays show that it's above the waist and has not dipped enough.

Is that out? Miller has edged a high full toss and is caught at short third man. The umpires get together and send the decision upstairs. It's a no ball for height. Free Hit loading now! 6 needed off 3 balls.

Another meeting. This time Moeen and Bravo are discussing the plans with the bowler. Jordan is sweating. He is feeling the heat.

19.36

SIX! That is the reason why he did not take the run, that is right in the slot, poor bowling from Jordan. This is full and on the pads, Miller loves it there, he flicks it well over the backward square leg fence. 7 needed in 3. Another hit like that will do it. Jordan is the one under pressure. He has already gone for 50 in the 21 balls bowled by him.

19.20

Two dots in a row! Really good stuff from Jordan! The length is perfect, really full and on middle, this is jammed down to long on and Miller does not run.

19.10

A dot to begin! This is full and on the pads, Miller misses out. He looks to flick but misses to get hit on the pads. Dhoni does brilliantly to dive to his right and stop it.

Who will bowl the final over? There is a confab going on with MS Dhoni calling the shots. 13 needed off 6 balls. Lockie Ferguson has walked in and is at the non-striker's end. Chris Jordan to bowl. Here we go...

OUT! Alzarri Joseph holes out! Doesn't matter much as David Miller will be on strike for the final over. This was a free hit for Joseph in a way, he tries his best but fails to clear the fence. Fuller and on off, Alzarri Joseph goes hard and lofts it towards long off. Chris Jordan speeds forward and takes a fine catch.

Alzarri Joseph to bat.

18.5W

OUT! CAUGHT! Rashid is gone and it's a sigh of relief for Chennai. Change in pace, slower one and on a length around off, Rashid runs down the track for a big shot but skies it in the air off the bottom part of his bat. Moeen moves across to his left from mid on and takes the catch at mid off. End of a scintillating cameo from the Gujarat skipper. 13 needed off 7 balls.

18.42

Slower one, full and dipping in around leg, Rashid whips it to deep mid-wicket and picks up a couple. 13 needed off 8 balls.

18.31

Fuller in length and wide outside off, Miller drives it to deep cover for one.

18.23

Heavy bottom hand this time! Too full, around off, Rashid flies the mini helicopter and sends it blazing down the ground. This time the long off fielder makes the stop and saves one run.

18.14

FOUR! The Afghan is on fire! Picks the slower length ball around off early and smashes it over the bowler's head for a boundary, no chance for long off.

Two more and that is 25 from the over! The game has turned on its head! Gujarat surely favourites now. The last ball is full and on the pads, this is worked through square leg for two.

17.51

Not sure what Rashid was trying to do there! A full toss outside off, Rashid looks to whip it over the leg side yet again, it goes off the top edge but lands safely on the leg side. They take one.

MS Dhoni is having a word with Chris Jordan now.

17.46

SIX! KABOOM! This one is over the fence too! What a shot, what wrist work! Absolutely brilliant! This is outside off, on a length, Rashid brings his wrists into play and clobbers it over wide long on. 26 needed now in 14. Game is now in Gujarat's favour.

Commentary

It is time for the second essay! The Gujarat openers, Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha walk out to the middle and so do the Chennai players. Mukesh Choudhary has the new ball in hand. It will be interesting to see if he can get the ball to swing back in.

... THE CHASE ...

Right then, the pitch is two-paced, so it's not going to be easy for Gujarat once the ball loses its shine. Chennai have a few clever bowlers in the ranks who will find this pitch conducive to their style of bowling. Should be a riveting chase. Stay tuned...

Ruturaj Gaikwad (73) comes up for a chat! The Chennai opener says he is happy to get runs under his belt. Feels that they could have got 15-20 runs more but mentions that the ball is holding up and this should be a good total. Mentions he is lucky to be in the Chennai side as the management has backed him when he had a lean period. Adds they were looking to time the ball, the wicket seems on the slower side and they were targeting the bowlers and just looking to time the ball. Ends by saying the wicket is slightly two-paced and he hopes it remains that way.

It was a slow Powerplay for Chennai where they lost a couple of wickets as well. At the halfway mark, they were struggling for momentum and were at 66 for 2. But thereafter, Ambati Rayudu and Ruturaj Gaikwad decided to shift gears and hammered 58 runs off the next four overs. Just when it appeared that the defending champions are heading towards a big total, their innings hit a roadblock.

Chennai eventually get the desired finish but will be still disappointed with the final total! 18 from the last over has taken them to the par score here. Have to say, it was an exceptional comeback from Gujarat in the last 6 overs, giving away only 45 runs! They were under the pump once Rayudu and Gaikwad started the counter-attack but the 15th over bowled by Joseph changed the course of the innings.

OUT! RUN OUT! Dube is short! A single to end the innings then but a really good last over for Chennai! A full toss on off, this is hit hard down the ground. Miller, at long off, runs to his left, slides and does well to stop it. The batters complete one and Dube goes for another. The throw is to the bowler who whips the bails off and appeals. It is taken upstairs, the replays show that Dube is short. CHENNAI END WITH 169/5!

Shout for a run out...

19.56

SIX MORE! Jadeja is giving Chennai the finish they wanted! This is poor bowling from Lockie Ferguson! He is bowling deliveries that are encouraging Jadeja to hit towards the shorter side. On middle, fuller, this is heaved over the mid-wicket fence for another biggie.

19.46

SIX! BANG! Jadeja has picked the bones out of that one! What a shot! This is right in the arc, full and on middle, Jadeja stays back and heaves it well over the mid-wicket fence for a biggie.

19.31

Just the one! On off, this is pushed down to long off for one.

19.20

A dot! Dots are gold! A yorker outside off, Dube fails to jam it out.

19.14

DROPPED AND FOUR! Not the easiest of chances but should have been taken! A full ball angled into the pads, Dube flicks it, it has more height than distance. Abhinav Manohar, at deep square leg, settles himself under it just in front of the ropes. He looks to take it but spills it and it trickles onto the ropes. The onfield umpire confirms from the third umpire before signalling a boundary.

Lockie Ferguson to bowl the final over.

Another run! On middle, Dube pulls it through mid-wicket and gets to the other end. No boundaries in the 19th over. Just what Gujarat wanted.

18.51

The googly now, it lands on off and then spins away. This is guided to point for one.

18.42

Two more! Tossed up on middle, Jadeja plays the slog sweep, he finds the gap in the mid-wicket region and takes two.

18.31

Just the single again! On middle, this is hit down to long on for one more.

18.21

Just the one! The slog sweep is out, it goes off the inner half through deep square leg for one.

18.10

The finger is raised as there is an appeal for an LBW! JADEJA REVIEWS! It seems like there is bat involved. NOT OUT! INDEED THERE IS! Jadeja was pretty sure and hence, reviewed straightaway. Another successful review by Chennai! Rashid bowls this on off and this one turns back in. Jadeja looks to defend, but it goes closely past the inside edge and hits him on the flap of the front pad. The ball lobs over the keeper's head. They go for a run as there is an appeal from the bowler. The finger is raised. Jadeja reviews and the UltraEdge shows a spike.

Rashid Khan to bowl the penultimate over.

A single to end! 10 from the over then! Not a bad one by Alzarri Joseph! Full and on off, this is hit down to long off for one.

17.51

Goes full and wide outside off, Dube carves it towards deep point for one. This is really good bowling, bowling to his field, as they say, making Dube hit towards the longer side.

17.44

FOUR! Finally, a boundary for Dube and Chennai! A welcome one. This one is short and angling away from middle, Dube manages to drag it, it is not off the middle of the bat but in the gap for a boundary in the wide long on region.

17.31

Just the single again! Fuller and on off, Jadeja hits it down to long off for one.

17.21

Misfield and one! Fuller and outside off, this is hit hard towards cover. Gill misfields and a run is taken.

17.12

Not timed that well! A slower one on middle, Dube drags it wide of long on for two.

Alzarri Joseph to bowl out. 3-0-24-2 are his figures so far on debut for Gujarat.

Time to set the ball rolling. The Gujarat players are spreading on the field after the customary huddle. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Robin Uthappa are the Chennai openers and it is going to be Mohammad Shami to begin proceedings with the ball. Here we go...

Stephen Fleming, the head coach of Chennai, comes up for a quick word. The Kiwi says that they are trying to stay calm as the start has not been ideal. Tells that they have worked hard and have a few new faces in the team. Feels that the last win was important which can drive them forward but they still have a lot of work to do. Adds that they certainly have the determination. Admits they have a lot of work still to do as there are teams that are looking better than them but he hopes they can do well from here on. On working with Jadeja, Fleming replies that MS Dhoni is still a big part of the leadership and his job is to provide the information and give freedom to the new captain.

Update - Hyderabad have registered an easy win against Punjab by 7 wickets with more than one over to spare. With four wins in a row, Hyderabad now enter the top four.

Ravindra Jadeja, the captain of Chennai, says that they would have bowled as well but the pitch looks good and they would now look to put a good total on the board and later defend it. Tells that the atmosphere in the team is positive and everyone is happy. Shares that they spent their off time practising and training. Informs that they are unchanged.

Rashid Khan, the stand-in skipper of Gujarat, starts by sharing that Hardik Pandya has a little bit of stiffness and they don't want to take risks with him. Hopes he will be back for their next game. Mentions it is like a dream captaining the side and he will give his 100 per cent. Informs about a couple of changes - Wriddhiman Saha comes in for Matthew Wade and Alzarri Joseph replaces Hardik.

Chennai (Unchanged Playing XI) - Ruturaj Gaikwad, Robin Uthappa, Moeen Ali, Ambati Rayudu, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja (C), MS Dhoni (WK), Dwayne Bravo, Chris Jordan, Maheesh Theekshana, Mukesh Choudhary.

Gujarat (Playing XI) - Shubman Gill, Wriddhiman Saha (WK) (In for Matthew Wade), Vijay Shankar, Abhinav Manohar, David Miller, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan (C), Mohammad Shami, Lockie Ferguson, Alzarri Joseph (In for Hardik Pandya), Yash Dayal.

Toss - Big breaking! Hardik Pandya is unwell and RASHID KHAN IS LEADING GUJARAT! The Afghan is in the middle along with Ravindra Jadeja. Up goes the coin and it falls in favour of Rashid. GUJARAT ELECT TO FIELD!

Latest - Wriddhiman Saha and Alzarri Joseph are all set to make their debut for Gujarat.

Update from Match 28 - Hyderabad are comfortably placed in their chase against Punjab. They need another 55 runs in 7 overs to secure their 4th win in a row. Can they do it with ease or is there some drama in store? While we wait for the toss here, you can keep shuffling the tabs and follow that match as well.

At the moment, with the result of the ongoing game not out, Gujarat are the table-toppers and would be keen to keep their spot up top with a thumping show against Chennai. Their batting is one area that has shown some vulnerability and the Yellow team will look to exploit the loopholes. The 4-time champions, on the other hand, recently tasted their first success of the season after four flop shows and would like to build on that victory. Unlike their opponents, Chennai's bowling has been an area of worry and could be targeted by the big hitters of Gujarat. This is setting up to be a mouth-watering clash.

Welcome, folks! The first game of Super Sunday is still going on but it's time for us to shift our attention to the second match, coming up this evening in Pune. Hardik's Gujarat versus Jadeja's Chennai - that's the contest. Two of the best all-rounders in the country will be crossing swords, both new in their role as the captain of the ship, but one has taken it like a duck to water while the other is learning it the hard way. Individually, both Jadeja and Pandya can do wonders with both bat and ball, but let's see how they lead their troops this evening. Stay tuned for more...
