Right then. That is all we have from this clash. There is one more ODI left in the series and it will be played on 11th February. The match begins at 1:30 pm IST (8 am GMT) but do join us for the buildup in advance. Cheers for now!

Prasidh Krishna is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his spell of 9-3-12-4. He says that he is happy that he could take wickets and win the game for the team. Adds that he knew what he needed to do and his plans were set. Says that he is happy to contribute to the team's success. Mentions that he did not want to try too many different things and wanted to keep things simple. Informs that he is working on being as consistent as possible and bowl in the right channels.

Rohit Sharma, the skipper of India, says that winning the series is a good feeling. Adds that the partnership between KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav showed good maturity and eventually they reached a good total. Tells all the bowlers came and bowled as a unit. Admits that it is important for these players to get in this type of situation and show character. Tells that the innings from Deepak Hooda as well was good to see. Adds that he was asked to do different things and they decided to get Rishabh Pant up the order. Informs that they will get Shikhar Dhawan back in the next game. Tells that they will talk about the changes and will see if they can give game time to some of the other players. Admits that he was surprised there was no dew but congratulates Prasidh Krishna for how he bowled. Adds it was a good bowling effort, especially from Krishna. He wanted some pace in the back end as there are many big hitters in West Indies.

Nicholas Pooran, the skipper of West Indies, says that they lost the game with the bat as they did not get any big partnerships. Adds that the more they play together, they will hopefully get better. He praises Odean Smith for his all-round show and says that with more experience, he will get better. Mentions that they want to do better with the bat in the final game and says that Kieron Pollard should be fine for the last match.

First, a word with Shardul Thakur. The pacer says that if dew comes in then a partnership can build and the batters can take the game away. Adds that the pacers were bowling really well as there was assistance in the pitch. Adds that if they take wickets up front then the game gets away from the team that is chasing. Tells that they used short balls really well and it was in the plan and strategy to bowl like that.

Stay tuned for the interviews.

A good game for India in the field as all the bowlers did well. Washington Sundar was a bit expensive at the start but finished well by getting the big wicket of Odean Smith. The captaincy from Rohit Sharma was also quite good as he rotated the bowlers well. They kept giving him wickets at the right point and India were never really in big trouble. Rohit Sharma must be commended for the way he marshaled his troops and handled his bowling resources. Prasidh Krishna was the pick of the bowlers with his 4 wickets while the rest of the bowlers had a good game too.

Shamarh Brooks did put on a 41-run stand with Akeal Hosein but when it was broken, the game looked done. But the stand between Fabian Allen and Akeal Hosein gave West Indies hope. The pair added 42 runs and there were few nerves in the Indian camp when they were batting. Right then Mohammed Siraj took his first wicket to break the stand and Shardul Thakur got a wicket in the next over to send back both the set batters. Odean Smith then got a few boundaries and kept the chase alive but he never really looked very threatening and India had enough quality in their ranks to seal the game.

West Indies needed a good start if they were to chase this down. The opening stand between Brandon King and Shai Hope looked good for a while before they were separated in the 8th over. After that, the middle order of West Indies put on another sorry show. It was only Shamarh Brooks who looked in good touch in the middle. The Indian bowlers were breathing fire with Prasidh Krishna struck thrice to rock the middle order of the West Indies.

A victory for India and they have sealed the 3-match series! They did not have the biggest of totals but bowled really well to defend it. A sweet victory but it will be a tough loss for West Indies. They had done really well with the ball but could not back it up with the bat.

Odean Smith looks to end the over with a maximum but he does not middle it well, he only gets elevation here. It is in the air for a while and goes towards deep mid-wicket. Commentary

We are back for the chase. The players walk out to the middle. Shai Hope and Brandon King are the openers for West Indies. Mohammed Siraj to start with the ball. Let's play ...

... THE RUN CHASE ...

Right then. 238 is not a big target but the batting of Windies has been quite poor in the recent past. They would hope that this impressive bowling show rubs off on their batters and they are able to put on a better fight. What will happen in the second half? Join us in a short while to find out.

Odean Smith is up for a quick chat. He says that it was a very good effort from all the bowlers. Says the wicket was offering a bit of seam and they needed to bowl at the right areas. Tells that he is working with the coaches a lot and it is paying off. Ends by telling that he would like his batters to bat till the end and complete the job.

India were 139-4 at the 30-over mark. The top order was back in the hut and a lot depended on Suryakumar Yadav to get them to a good score. He got a fifty but was dismissed soon after. West Indies kept taking wickets at the right moments to prevent a big finish for India. All the bowlers took at least one wicket with Alzarri Joseph and Odean Smith taking 2 each. Akeal Hosein was a bit expensive as he went for 39 in 6 overs but overall, the Windies would be very happy.

West Indies won the toss, chose to bowl first and had a great start. India had sent Rishabh Pant to open the batting with Rohit Sharma but it was a tough game for the Indian top order. They were 37 for 1 at the end of the Powerplay and thanks to a double-wicket over by Odean Smith, India were staring down the barrel at 43 for 3 at the end of the 12th over. Things looked bleak but the stand between Suryakumar Yadav and KL Rahul got them back in the game. The pair put on 90 runs but just when they were looking set to get India to a good score, Rahul was run out.

A really good show by West Indies and India have labored their way to 237. A really good day for the bowlers of Windies and they have a target that their batters would be quite comfortable with.

A late review for LBW! Length and on off. Chahal pushes it to point. A dot to end the over.  Hold on, there is a review. West Indies have reviewed this for LBW. The question is whether the ball hit the bat first or the pad. Well, UltraEdge confirms that it flicked the pad first before hitting the bat. Now, the Ball Tracker comes in and the impact is umpire's call.

47.51

OUT! RUN OUT! Dear, oh dear! That is poor from Rahul. There should not have been a run out for India at this stage. Just like that, West Indies have a big wicket! Full and outside off. Driven by Rahul to the left of sweeper cover. The first run is taken with ease. There is no calling for the second and there is a bit of confusion but they set off for the second. But strangely, Rahul stops for a second right at the middle of the pitch! Akeal Hosein throws the ball and Shai Hope does the rest at his end! Replays show that Rahul stopped at the middle of the pitch and raised his hands. Don't know if he wanted to abort the second at that point but that pause cost him his wicket.

OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! India lose their skipper for a timid score. Kemar Roach continues to bowl way outside off and this time Rohit Sharma has a poke at it. Rishabh Pant was leaving these deliveries but Sharma has other plans. This is short in length and outside off. Rohit Sharma looks to run it past first slip but there is a bit of extra bounce and it takes the outside edge. Shai Hope makes no mistake behind the stumps. A good start for the Windies!

2.51

A full ball, outside off. Pant drives it uppishly over covers and Nicholas Pooran at mid off, runs across and cuts it off. Single in the end.

2.40

Another leave from Rishabh Pant! This is outside off, on a length. Left alone by the southpaw.

2.30

On a length, outside off. Pant lets it through to the keeper.

2.20

Around off, fuller and this is hit to mid on.

Rohit Sharma is guiding Rishabh Pant through this phase of opening the innings. He can be heard on the stump mic giving some advice to the left-hander. After the first ball of the over swung away a bit, Rohit Sharma could be heard saying that since the ball is new, it may shape away a touch when Roach is bowling.

2.21wd

WIDE! Way outside off, over the tramline. Left alone. Wided.

2.10

An appeal for caught behind, mostly from the fielders surrounding the bowler but the umpire is not interested. A full ball, way outside off. Pant looks to drive but misses it completely as the ball shapes away a touch.

Back of a length, outside off. Sharma hops and punches off the back foot, straight to the point fielder.

1.51

Length and on off. Pant looks to defend but it goes more off the outer half to third man for a single.

1.40

Length ball, angling outside off. Pant shoulders arms to it.

1.30

On a length, on middle. Pant blocks it out solidly.

1.20

Length ball, way outside off. Pant leaves it alone. Pant batting in the middle order would have probably chased that one.

1.11

Short of a length, on middle. Sharma pulls it to deep backward square leg for a single. Not in full control but it gets him a single.

Alzarri Joseph will use the other new ball.

Fuller delivery, on middle. Rohit Sharma nudges it to deep square leg for a single.

0.51

Rishabh Pant is off the mark with a quick single. A full ball, around off. Pant looks to drive but gets it off the inner half to mid on and scampers across for a quick single. Rohit Sharma had to race across and made it in the end.

Interesting choice to send out Rishabh Pant. Maybe, they want to keep the left-right combination intact or they want Pant to tee off from the first over. Time will tell.

0.41

Roach goes wide of the crease and drifts this one on the pads, flicked through square leg for a single. It was in the air for a while but well past the fielder there.

0.32

Rohit Sharma and India are underway! This is full and angling on middle. Rohit Sharma looks to push it on the leg side but it takes the leading edge and goes through covers for a couple of runs.

0.20

Fuller ball, on off. Sharma defends it towards cover.

0.10

Roach starts with a length ball, way outside off and a bit of inward movement. Easily left alone by Rohit Sharma.

We are set, folks! Just moments away from the action. Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul make their way out to open the innings. The fielders have taken the field too. Okay, this is interesting. I made a mistake by assuming that KL Rahul is out there. India have sent out RISHABH PANT to open the innings! This should be interesting. Before the start, the West Indies' players bend their knee to support the Black Lives Matter movement and the Indian players have their hands on their hearts. Kemar Roach is set to steam in now...

Akeal Hosein is down for a chat. He says that his ODI journey has been great so far and it is a big learning experience. Mentions that the bowling coach helps him despite being a pacer back in his playing days. Informs that he also takes help from Sunil Narine given his experience. Says that he wants to be an all-format bowler moving forward. Informs that his plan for the last game was to go for wickets as they did not have a lot of runs to play with.

Rohit Sharma, the skipper of India, says that they always wanted to bat first and get runs on the board. Adds that it is important to have a certain total in your mind but that needs to be balanced with playing according to the situation. Informs that KL Rahul comes in place for Ishan Kishan.

Nicholas Pooran, the skipper of West Indies, says that they will bowl first as they want to chase given the dew factor. Mentions that Kieron Pollard has a bit of niggle so he misses out. Adds that they need to stay patient and win key moments in the game. Confesses that it has been a while since they batted 50 overs and they want to do that here. Informs that Odean Smith is in for Kieron Pollard.

India (Playing XI) - Rohit Sharma (C), KL Rahul (In for Ishan Kishan), Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant (WK), Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal, Prasidh Krishna.

West Indies (Playing XI) - Shai Hope (WK), Brandon King, Darren Bravo, Shamarh Brooks, Nicholas Pooran (C), Jason Holder, Fabian Allen, Akeal Hosein, Alzarri Joseph, Kemar Roach, Odean Smith (In for Kieron Pollard).

TOSS - Surprisingly it is Nicholas Pooran who will lead West Indies. He joins Rohit Sharma for the all important toss. Up goes the coin and it lands in the favor of West Indies. They have elected to BOWL first.

PITCH REPORT - Deep Dasgupta says that a new pitch is being used but the dimensions remain similar. Ajit Agarkar joins him and he says that this pitch looks a lot better. Adds that there will be dew around so it won't be surprising if the captain winning the toss chooses to chase. Deep Dasgupta ends by saying that this pitch looks very good to bat on.

India, on the other hand, were clinical in the last game. Moreover, the return of KL Rahul for this game will strengthen them even more. Shreyas Iyer and Shikhar Dhawan also trained with the team after recovering from Covid-19 but it will be interesting to see if they come back right away in the side. Stay tuned for the toss and team updates.

It was the same story for West Indies in the last game. They could not deal with the spinners in the middle overs after getting a tough start and they weren't able to bat out the 50 overs. Batting has been a big issue for them as no one except Jason Holder looked in control in the middle. If they are to do better in this game, the harsh truth is that their batters have to do better. Kieron Pollard has his task cut out as the skipper and also as a senior batter in the team.

Hello and a warm welcome to the second ODI between India and West Indies. There is plenty at stake for the Windies here as a win would level the 3-match series but a loss will see them lose another ODI series. Given the strength of the Indian side, it is fair to expect that they would win this game with ease but it would not be wise to count out the visitors just yet.
