That's it then for this series and it is South Africa who win it 2-0. The Proteas skipper, David Miller picks up the winners' trophy and he and his team celebrate and pose for a team photo. Both teams will now move on to a new challenge as Ireland welcome Afghanistan for a five-match T20I series starting the 9th of August. As for South Africa, they move their attention back on to England and gear up for the Test series starting on the 17th of August. Hope you enjoyed our coverage, until next time. Cheers!

David Miller, the captain of South Africa says that he is fit now and he had a back spasm during the first game. Adds that it is a good problem to have when everyone is performing and it is great and healthy to see the guys performing well. Says that it is really nice to contribute as a captain and he has seen a lot of different facets of the game while doing captaincy. Mentions that the last 18 months have been pretty good for them and certainly they will be a force in the upcoming T20 World cup but don't won't to get ahead of themselves.

The Irish skipper, Andy Balbirnie is down for a chat. He says that it wasn’t as close as it looks on the scoreboard and says that after the first innings onslaught they were always chasing the game. Says the spinners bowled well in the beginning and kept them ahead in the game but towards the end, South Africa batted well and scored freely using the small boundaries to their advantage. He claims that they were still happy at the halfway mark and were looking to come out positively and chase down the total. He says that his team can not wait to get back on the horse and plan for the future with the five games against Afghanistan and the World Cup to look forward to.

Reeza Hendricks is the PLAYER OF THE SERIES for his exploits with the bat in both games. He says that the guys played pretty well today and he is happy to have contributed to the win. Adds that he tries to keep it as simple as possible and just play his game. Says that when setting a total, he tries to focus on taking it ball by ball and the end result will take care of itself.

Wayne Parnell (5 for 30) is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his fabulous bowling performance. He says he was trying to keep things simple and bowl to a plan. He feels that the credit actually goes to the batters who did well to get them to a good total. When asked about what they have been doing well recently he says that he knows it is a cliche but the answer is that they keep it simple and try doing what they are good at. Mentions how every teammates success is enjoyed by every other menber and it is good for the team that they have so many options. When asked if he was hoping for Lungi Ngidi to take the catch for his last wicket, he says that it was the other way as he was hoping for Ngidi would get a wicket towards the end so that he could become the fastest South African to 50 T20I wickets.

The Presentation ceremony...

Earlier in the game, Andy Balbirnie won the toss and opted to bowl first which seemed like a good decision as they once again got de Kock out for a low score. However, throughout the South African innings, the Irish bowlers were found guilty of conceding multiple boundaries in one over. Gareth Delany and Josh Little though were excellent, conceding a run-a-ball or less. Contributions right throughout the order apart from de Kock and Rassie van der Dussen got the visitors to an above-par total. During the run chase though, Ireland kept on losing wickets in a bunch and this never allowed them to get any momentum into their innings. Riding on Parnell's fifer, the proteas strolled to a series victory.

Even though the Proteas didn't bat particularly well, they did find the fence with regularity and they have now done the same with the wickets while bowling. Wayne Parnell gave them a dream start, picking up two wickets in the second over of the innings and he then came back in later on to pick up a five-wicket haul, a rare feat in this format. The spinners were brilliant too and Dwaine Pretorius got wickets at the right times. Everyone contributed with the ball and even though they couldn't quite wrap up proceedings in style, it was a thoroughly professional performance in the field from the Proteas.

Ireland knew heading into the break that the wicket wasn't a 180-run plus wicket and they had given away a few if not many extra runs with the ball. And, they once again got off on the wrong foot as their skipper departed really cheaply. One wicket became two and then three inside the Powerplay even after some brute force shown by Paul Stirling. Harry Tector showed a bit of consistency and stitched together a stand with Curtis Campher but once Campher fell, Ireland folded like a pack of cards until Barry McCarthy showed some fight and took the opposition bowlers to the cleaners. McCarthy brought the margin of defeat to under 50 runs but Ireland have still suffered a heavy loss.

This has been a totally dominant performance from the Proteas. They have made short work of a long Irish batting order and have sealed the series 2-0! There was a bit of a delay in bundling out the opposition but they have been the better team by a country mile.

OUT! CAUGHT! Aiden Markram is not dropping this one and Barry McCarthy's cameo comes to an end! Dwaine Pretorius continues bowling short and angles the ball into the batter, Barry McCarthy pulls hard but does not time this well as it floats towards deep mid-wicket. Aiden Markram takes a good catch running to his right and makes it look really easy! That brings an end to Ireland's innings and they have lost by 44 runs.

Commentary

We are back for the chase! The umpires and the players are out in the middle. Ireland openers, Paul Stirling and Andy Balbirnie take guard. It will be Keshav Maharaj to start proceedings with the ball for South Africa.

... The Run Chase ...

Right then! South Africa have managed to get over 180 runs on a wicket that doesn't quite seem like the flat one we saw in the first game. Ireland aren't going to have the easiest of chases as there is something in the wicket for the bowlers, especially for the slower bowlers. Will Ireland be able to level the series? Find out soon as the chase is not far away.

Ireland started the game in a completely contrary fashion to their performance in the first game. They bowled with good discipline and exploited the conditions to get some good swing. After bowling well for the first 11 overs, Andy Mcbrine conceded 26 runs in the 12th. Gareth Delaney picked up the two set batters in the very next over but after that, there was pure carnage. Gareth Delany bowled well conceding 24 runs in his four over and taking 2 wickets despite going for 15 runs in his last over. Josh Little got over his last game performance in style conceding just 20 in his full quota of 4 overs and bowling a magnificent last over conceding only 4 runs.

The Proteas started really slow losing the out-of-form Quinton de Kock early once again. Rassie van der Dussen could not get going and the pressure started building on Reeza Hendricks who seemed in good touch. He fell 8 short of a fifth consecutive half-century but took 40 balls to get there. Aiden Markram started the acceleration when he took a liking to Andy McBrine, hitting him for three sixes and a boundary in the 12th over. Both Hendricks and  Makaram departed soon after but Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller and Dwaine Pretorius came out with aggressive intent to push South Africa over the 180 mark.

South Africa have overcome a slow start to the innings to end with 182 on the board. Ireland did really good in the first half of the innings but all their good work was undone towards the end. South Africa were 58 for 2 in 11 overs and scored 124 in the last 9 overs. Ireland have their task cut out now as they look to level this series when they return for the run chase.

19.50

Just inside the tramline. Pacy delivery, full and wide, Parnell can't reach it.

19.40

Swing and a miss! Fuller and angled across the left-hander. Wayne Parnell hangs deep and has a big swipe across the line but does not connect.

19.21

Around off, this is driven through cover-point for a run.

19.11

Misses out! Juicy full toss, outside off, David Miller slaps it straight to the man at the cover fence and it will only be a single.

Wayne Parnell walks to the crease and will be playing second fiddle to David Miller who will look to play out the last over. Barry McCarthy has been really expensive today but will be given the responsibility to end the innings.

OUT! CAUGHT! Finally, Mark Adair gets his man but Dwaine Pretorius has done his job. This is on a fullish length and well outside off, it is the off-paced delivery. Dwaine Pretorius looks to lift it over long off but mistimes it badly. The ball goes high off the toe end of the bat and towards cover-point. The skipper, Andy Balbirnie settles under it and takes a simple catch.

18.54

FOUR! Sweetly timed! Full and wide, Dwaine Pretorius steps down the track and just plays a checked drive that rockets through the cover region and into the fence.

18.46

SIX! What a strike! Short of a length and outside off, Dwaine Pretorius fetches this one and has a baseball-type swing at it. The ball hits the middle of the bat and flies over the mid-wicket fence for a biggie.

18.41wd

WIDE! Full and wide, sprayed beyond the tramline outside off. Wide called.

18.32

Back of a length, outside off, Dwaine Pretorius makes room and slaps it away to the right of the man at extra cover. Andy Balbirnie gets a hand on it and the batters get a couple of runs.

18.21

This is courageous and perfectly executed bowling from Mark Adair. Nails yet another yorker and outside off, Miller can only manage to jam it out on the off side for a single.

18.12lb

Adair gets the yorker in on leg stump, Miller tries to clip it past square leg but the ball goes off the pads and does extremely well to get back for the second. Two leg byes then.

17.51

Slower and shorter, angling in from around off. David Miller can only manage to pull it towards deep mid-wicket for a single.

17.40

Missed opportunity but well bowled as well. This is banged in halfway down the track and outside off, Miller looks to ramp it over the man at short third man but gets an under edge straight to that man.

17.31

Full again and outside off, this is drilled down to long on for one.

17.20

Full and wide, Dwaine Pretorius has a swing at it but misses.

Dwaine Pretorius makes his way out to the middle and there is only one way he is going to bat!

OUT! CAUGHT! The pyrotechnics from Heinrich Klaasen have come to an end as Josh Little sends him packing. This is dug in short and slower by Little, following the batter. Heinrich Klaasen tries to back and loft it over covers but gets hurried on. The ball flies off the outside edge and goes straight down the throat of the man at short third man. Andy McBrine over there takes a simple catch and what a turnaround it has been for Little from the first game.

We are ready for play! The two umpires are out in the middle and so are the Irish players. The South African opening pair of Quinton de Kock and Reeza Hendricks make their out to the middle as well. Ireland have opted to bowl with spin as Andy McBrine has been handed the new ball. Let's play...

PITCH REPORT - Claude Hendersen is pitchside. He says that the wicket has a good grass cover and there will be consistent bounce but it is a bit dry. This means that the slower bowlers will get a bit of help and teams will be looking to use the small boundaries square of the wicket. Ends by saying that it will be interesting to see if the team winning the toss will bat first or bowl first.

South Africa (Playing XI) - Quinton de Kock (WK), Reeza Hendricks, Rassie van der Dussen, Aiden Markram, Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller (C) (In for Tristan Stubbs), Wayne Parnell, Dwaine Pretorius, Keshav Maharaj, Lungi Ngidi and Tabraiz Shamsi.

Ireland (Unchanged XI) - Paul Stirling, Andy Balbirnie (C), Lorcan Tucker (WK), Harry Tector, Gareth Delany, Curtis Campher, George Dockrell, Mark Adair, Andy McBrine, Barry McCarthy and Josh Little.

TOSS - Ireland have won the toss and they will have a BOWL first.

Ireland on the other hand, have been so close yet so far, way too often recently. Their batting order has been in outstanding form with some batter or the other playing a blinder. They need to be a little more disciplined in their bowling if they are to get over the line. The bowling at the beginning of the innings and towards the end still proves to be an issue for this side. Andy Balbirnie and Paul Stirling still need to put their best forward but the middle order has been on fire. It was Lorcan Tucker and George Dockrell who looked in fine nick in the last game but we have seen what Harry Tector and Gareth Delany are capable of. Will today be the game that they turn up and get the better of their much-fancied opponent? We will find out soon as we look forward to the toss and the teams in a bit…
