Right then, that is all we have from this game. It has been a comfortable victory for Delhi. The action continues as the second game of this Super Sunday between Lucknow and Rajasthan is already underway. So switch tabs and enjoy that game. Cheers!

Kuldeep Yadav is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his brilliant figures with the ball of (4-0-35-4).

David Warner is down for a chat. He says that it feels good to get a win and it was a nice wicket. Tells that Prithvi Shaw is an exciting player to watch and he is loving his time in the Delhi camp. Informs that Ponting is a great coach and having him as a coach is like a parent to a kid. Jokes that he doesn't call him dad though.

Shreyas Iyer, the skipper of Kolkata, says that Delhi got off to a good start and they were a bit clueless at that time. Mentions that they carried on the momentum and it was tough to stop them. Tells that it was a good batting pitch and they chose to bowl as they won their three games chasing. Informs that they showed intent from the word go but it wasn't a good start for them.

Time for some interviews!

Kolkata came into this game with a lot of confidence but they were put under pressure right from the start in this game as Umesh Yadav failed to get an early breakthrough in this game. They were always behind the 8-ball after that and ended up making it too tough for their batters with 216 to chase. Shreyas did played a good knock today but they needed couple of more guys to contribute and that didn’t happen for Kolkata and in the end they have fallen short of the target by a pretty big margin.

Delhi had an another good start with the bat courtesy of their dynamic opening pair of Shaw and Warner. However, the good thing was that Delhi did not let the momentum slip away today and Delhi posted a big score on the board. Khaleel Ahmed then took two early wickets with the ball and put the pressure on Kolkata early in the chase. Kuldeep Yadav then showed his class yet again with crafty spin to take four wickets and broke the backbone of Kolkata batting lineup. However, it was Lalit Yadav who broke a dangerous looking partnership between Rana and Shreyas and in the end it has been a clinical performance by Delhi in this crucial game for them.

Delhi needed a strong performance to beat this Kolkata side and they have produced it in this game. Right from the way they started with the bat in the Powerplay, they displayed great intent and have found themselves on the right side of the result in the end. Kolkata, on the other hand, had an off day as they were outplayed in all the departments and would be looking to come out with better plans and execution in the next game.

19.4W

OUT! CAUGHT! That will be that! Lord Shardul Thakur bags his second wicket and ends Kolkata's innings. Batted beautifully in the end hitting som lusty blows and now ends the proceedings as well. Commentary

We are back for the chase! The players are back on the field. Ajinkya Rahane and Venkatesh Iyer are the openers for Kolkata. Mustafizur Rahman to start with the ball. Let's go...

...THE RUN CHASE…

Right then! Kolkata have 216 to chase and it is a mountain to climb. Their batters will need to go guns blazing right from the start. It will be very interesting to see how they will approach this chase. Do stay tuned to find out...

Prithvi Shaw is up for a quick chat. He says that he is fine after the blow on the helmet. Adds that he was keeping it simple from his side and it was a good wicket and they had a good Powerplay. Tells that he had a great partnership with Warner and he hopes that they can continue the good form in the next game. Mentions that according to him, Kolkata had a plan to bowl slower deliveries from the end that has longer boundaries and feels that they played well to get to 215 in the end.

Kolkata bowlers didn't have the best of starts with the ball as the bowlers were taken to the cleaners and the runs were just flowing left, right and center. After dealing with the carnage initially, they still had to toil hard for the breakthrough but it finally came via Varun Chakaravarthy. The bowlers still were struggling to find the correct rhythm but Sunil Narine bowled an excellent spell and triggered a mini-collapse with his two wickets. They did well to sustain Delhi for a while after that but that 39 runs off the last 2 overs would hurt them a lot and as a result, have a gigantic score in front of their noses.

The pitch is a belter to bat and when the pitch is a batting paradise, players like Shaw and Warner are hard to stop. Both the openers made full use of the Powerplay and only dealt in boundaries. They got Delhi off to a flying start and set the platform for others. The duo stitched 93 runs for the opening stand before Shaw got out. Pant played a breezy cameo and departed. Warner also got out later but Shardul Thakur and Axar Patel batted brilliantly. It looked at one stage that they would end up below 200 but certainly Thakur and Patel had other plans. Amazing batting display from Delhi and they would fancy their chances here.

A clinical performance from Delhi! Their top-order ignited fire right from the word go and then Shardul Thakur and Axar Patel did proper justice to that with both batsmen hitting some lusty blows. Kolkata bowlers had no answers at the start and they were starring down the barrel for the most part of the game. They now have a huge score in front of them and Delhi would be the happier team heading to the break.

We are set for the game to begin! The match officials make their way out to the middle. They are followed by the players of Kolkata and the two opening batters of Delhi, David Warner and Prithvi Shaw. It is Umesh Yadav who will start proceedings with the ball. Here we go...

So Kolkata are going with an unchanged XI. Their skipper, Shreyas Iyer has not exactly fired the way his team would have been hoping from him at the start of the season and today might just be the day where he might unleash his true might against his former team. Delhi too would like their skipper, Rishabh Pant to play his natural game and let's hope we see the best of both the captains today.

Rishabh Pant, the skipper of Delhi, says that he does not mind batting first on this wicket. Adds that it gets frustrating when one loses the game but one needs to learn and keep improving. Mentions that it is a big relief that there is no dew and informs that they have one change in the playing XI with Khaleel Ahmed coming in for Anrich Nortje.

Shreyas Iyer, the skipper of Kolkata, says that they will bowl first. Adds that the pitch has a good covering of grass and it will get better as the game progresses. Tells that it is important to carry on with the momentum and says that he has been enjoying the captaincy. Informs that they are unchanged.

Delhi (Playing XI) - Prithvi Shaw, David Warner, Rovman Powell, Rishabh Pant (C) (WK), Sarfaraz Khan, Lalit Yadav, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Mustafizur Rahman, Khaleel Ahmed (In place of Anrich Nortje).

Kolkata (Unchanged Playing XI) - Ajinkya Rahane, Venkatesh Iyer, Shreyas Iyer (C), Sam Billings (WK), Nitish Rana, Andre Russell, Pat Cummins, Sunil Narine, Umesh Yadav, Rasikh Dar, Varun Chakaravarthy.

TOSS - The coin goes up and lands in favour of Kolkata. They have elected to BOWL first.

PITCH REPORT - Daren Ganga is down for the pitch report. He says that this is the second afternoon game at Brabourne and there will be no dew. Tells that there is even covering of grass and it is very hard. Mentions that there will be bounce and the batters can hit through the line and the pacers will come into the picture. Adds that the margin of error is very less and the average score at the venue is 189. Tells that the team that win the toss can put pressure by putting a big score on the board as there will be no dew.

David Warner is down for a chat. He says that as he is getting older, he has started doing longer runs. Adds that when he first started playing T20 cricket it was lot different then and now it has become more professional. Tells that they want to get another win on the board and says that it about giving 100 percent on the field and they want to outfield Kolkata and hopes that they can play well.

Delhi started off the season with a morale-boosting win against Mumbai. However, since then, they have failed to cross the line and they need their bowling and batting to fire in unison to come out with better results in the tournament. Prithvi Shaw was fantastic at the top of the order in the last game but they need the likes of Warner, Pant and Rovman Powell to display their might with the bat. Anrich Nortje looked rusty in his comeback game and Delhi need him and other bowlers to step up and support Kuldeep Yadav who has been one of the standout performers for them. Can Delhi lift themselves up and beat a strong Kolkata unit? Or will Kolkata continue to march on? We shall find out. Toss and team sheets in a while.

Kolkata have their issues to address but are still at the top of the table with 3 wins in 4 games so far. Their bowling unit and lower middle-order have bailed them out of the trouble on numerous occasions and the presence of quality all-rounders makes them a balanced unit. However, their top order has not fired in the way they would have expected at the start of the season and expect the skipper, Shreyas Iyer to take more responsibility going forward in the tournament.

It is time for Super Sunday to unveil its colours as we get ready for another double-header day in this 15th edition of the Indian T20 League. First up, it will be Kolkata going head-to-head against Delhi and expect another mouth-watering contest between two quality sides.

... MATCH DAY …
