Right then, that is all we have from this high-scoring thriller! It will be Kolkata going up against Punjab on Friday, April 1. That game will begin at 7.30 pm IST (2.00 pm GMT). Our coverage, as you know, will begin in advance. So do join us for the same. Till then, goodbye and cheers!

Evin Lewis is the  PLAYER OF THE MATCH. He says the wicket is a very good one and he wanted to capitalize and he did so. States it was a good wicket to bat on and he backed his skills and he tried to hit through the line. Mentions Badoni is a very confident guy and he has a lot of talent and if he keeps it simple, he is going to reach far. Adds, it is always good to be scoring runs and he just tries to score runs and make his team proud.

KL Rahul, the skipper of Lucknow, says Bishnoi was really good, he has a big heart and he is always ready for a fight and for the way he bowled and got them back into the game, speaks volumes. Credits the scout for Badoni and from the first day he has been batting really well. States you give yourself an over or two and then if you get going, it settles your nerve and then it is about putting pressure on the bowlers and the right-hand left-hand combination at the top helps. Adds they had a word with Lewis about him batting at number three and they feel he will be a lot more useful against spinners and it is good to see his form.

Time for the presentation...

Quinton de Kock is down for a chat. He says that it is good to win these close games and it is good for the morale. Adds that they thought they can chase down the target but they needed to bat well. Tells that it was a par score and it was a good effort from them. Mentions that it was good to bat in the middle and the pitch was good and all the batters played well. Applauds the skipper, Rahul for his knock. Tells that when you are chasing around 210 it was always going to be a close game and it was bit nervy but says that it was a great effort from boys to pull it off.

Ravindra Jadeja, the skipper of Chennai, says that they had a good start and Dube and Robin Uthappa played well but adds that they should have taken their chances in the field. Tells that there was a bit of dew and the ball did not stick around and they need to practice with the wet ball. Mentions that they batted well but need to execute better with the ball.

Time for some interviews!

It was always going to be difficult for Chennai to defend this total as the wicket was extremely flat and there was so much of dew. Still though they got themselves into a good position to win it courtesy really good overs from Dwaine Pretorius and Dwayne Bravo! However, the over from Dube is what took the game away. Difficult for Dube too who bowled his first over of the game in the 19th. He went for 25 runs and that killed the game there itself.

It was a combined batting effort though from Lucknow, first it was Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul who got them off to a really good start. The two added 99 but then there were two wickets in quick succession. Quinton de Kock also fell shortly after getting to his half ton. Lucknow then fell behind in the gap but then Evin Lewis along with Hooda first and then Ayush Badoni took their side over the line. Hooda and Badoni played handy cameos whereas, Lewis scored a brilliant half ton to round off an excellent chase.

An outstanding victory for Lucknow! What a talent Ayush Badoni is and what a knock there by Evin Lewis, there were questions about him being sent below Pandey but this is why they did so, he played the role of a finisher and has passed with flying colors. Yet another score over 200 chased and Lucknow have managed to bag their first win in the Indian T20 League.

19.31

That's it! What an incredible chase this has been! Mukesh Choudhary lands on a length, around off. Ayush Badoni goes deep in his crease and hits it to deep mid-wicket. The ball goes in the air and falls away from Jadeja there. A single taken. Lucknow open their account in the Indian T20 League! They win by six wickets!

19.20

Lands on a length, on off. Ayush Badoni hits it straight to mid on.

19.16

SIX! Ayush Badoni seals the deal with a maximum. Scores are level now! What a shot under pressure! Short delivery on middle. Ayush Badoni pulls it over deep backward square leg for a maximum.

19.11wd

WIDE! Another wide! It is short and down the leg side. Ayush Badoni looks to pull it but misses.

19.11wd

WIDE! Starts off with a wide! Pressure, pressure on the youngster! A slower short delivery and way too wide outside off. Ayush Badoni lets it go.

Mukesh Choudhary will bowl the last over!

SIX! BANG! This over has probably won the game for Lucknow. We mean, they should win it from here, 9 needed. Right in the slot again, full and on off, this is lofted down the ground and over the long off fence.

18.54

FOUR MORE! Just the 15 needed now in 7 balls. Right in the slot yet again, fuller and on middle, Lewis smacks it over the bowler's head for a boundary. Game in favor of Lucknow now.

18.44

FOUR! 19 needed in 8 now! Once again this is right in the slot! Full and outside off, this is drilled through covers, no chance for anyone. Still two balls to go.

18.32

Two more! That was in the slot, Dube was lucky he got away with one there. Full and outside off, this is carved over point for two.

18.21

Just the one but it is 9 from just the two balls! Outside off, this is smashed towards cover for one.

18.21wd

WIDE! That is another wide! Late call. Another one outside off, Badoni swings but misses. HAlf an appeal, the umpire waits but then calls it a wide.

18.21wd

WIDE! This is very wide outside off, left alone. Dube wanted to bowl it away from the reach but bowls it very wide.

18.16

SIX! What a shot that is! Outrageous! Dube under huge pressure now. 6 to begin the over! Outside off, full, Ayush Badoni walks across and sweeps it over the square leg fence. 28 needed in 11.

Just the single which means Badoni will keep strike. Do not think Chennai will mind that. Outside off, this is hit towards sweeper cover for one.

17.52

Two more! Outside off, a yorker, this is jammed through point for two. This is now a free hit for Badoni. By free hit we mean, he can swing hard and look for a boundary.

17.40

A dot! Fails to find the gap! The idea was right but did not come off! Outside off, Badoni looks to guide it past backward point but finds the man there.

17.32

Two more! On middle, a slower one, this is worked through square leg for two. Don't think the twos will bother Chennai.

17.31wd

WIDE! An appeal but that was probably to put the umpire off. Bravo goes short and down the leg side. Badoni looks to pull but misses. Wided.

Commentary

We are back for the chase! Chennai players are there in the middle. KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock are the openers for Lucknow. Mukesh Choudhary will start with the ball for Chennai. Here we go...

...THE RUN CHASE…

Right then, the target is a big one but the pitch is good to bat on and we can expect a cracker of a contest if Lucknow batters get going. Chennai need to bowl well and the experince of Jadeja will be key in these wet conditions. Stay tuned for the run-chase!

Moeen Ali is down for a chat. He says it is a great wicket and he is happy to get runs on the board! States it is not going to be easy to defend with the dew but they need to bowl really well. Mentions you just need to keep going with the bat if they get a good start, there is no target with the dew and the opposition do have a good batting line-up and they need to be at their A-game.

Lucknow bowlers were up against a strong batting lineup in tough bowling conditions. The seamers were carted all around the park in the initial overs. However, Ravi Bishnoi got rid of Ruturaj Gaikwad with a brilliant piece of fielding and bowled a great spell as he went for just 6 runs per over and got two important wickets. Other bowlers were expensive but Avesh Khan and Tye got two wickets apiece and bowled decently in the death to restrict Chennai from taking the game completely away from them.

Chennai had a new opening pair today, with Robin Uthappa being promoted at the top of the order and the move paid rich dividends as Robin Uthappa came out all guns blazing. The Powerplay was a fantastic one as Moeen Ali joined hands with Robin Uthappa after losing Ruturaj Gaikwad early. Both departed after some fireworks but Dube and Rayadu made sure that momentum was carried on. In the end, MS Dhoni and Jadeja gave some nice finishing touches to take Chennai to a big total here.

A strong batting performance by Chennai on this very good batting strip. They started off with a bang and once they got that start, 200 was always on the cards. Lucknow have a tough task ahead of them but they have the batting arsenal and conditions are quite favourable for batting. However, they need their top order to fire today.

FOUR! A boundary to end the innings which means Chennai end with 210! This is full and wide outside off, Dhoni carves it over point and it races away. The last ball spoils the last over, 11 from it.

19.52

Just the two! A full toss outside off, Dhoni lifts it over cover for two. He did not look to hit that hard, just tried to time it.

19.41

No hat-trick but only one! On middle, this is woked through mid-wicket for one.

Review time! A huge appeal for an LBW is turned down. Seems to be going down leg.

19.3W

NOT OUT! Three reds! Another successful review by Lucknow and this is a brilliant last over by Tye so far. Two wickets after going for a boundary! This is full and on the leg pole. Dwaine Pretorius looks to flick but misses. He gets hit on the pads. An appeal but turned down. Lucknow review again. Three reds. Tye on a hat-trick.

19.2W

OUT! TAKEN! Tye has his first! Jadeja will be disappointed he could not get that away! It was a full toss on the pads, this is whipped in the air and towards deep mid-wicket. Manish Pandey takes another good catch running to his right. Can Lucknow keep them under 210 now?

19.14

FOUR! Finds the gap and the 200 is up! A full toss on middle, this is heaved through mid-wicket, in the gap and races away to the fence.

Two dots to end! Not a bad over to be honest. Despite a biggie and a boundary, 11 from it and a wicket. Shorter and outside off, Dhoni swings but misses.

18.50

Swing and a miss! Outside off, slower one. Dhoni swings but misses.

18.44

FOUR! Carves it over! Poor from Avesh! That is not the line you want to bowl with point and third man up. Outside off, fuller, this is carved over point. 10 from the two balls faced by Dhoni.

18.36

SIX! Over the fence! Dhoni wastes no time! That is a brute of a shot! Shorter and outside of, this is slammed over the point fence for a biggie. That is another massive hit. Shades of the old Dhoni there.

MS Dhoni walks out to bat now! Can he roll back the years and help Chennai finish on a high?

18.2W

OUT! TAKEN! That is a brilliant catch! Never easy when it goes so high and with the lights on. Brilliant from Lewis. End of a superb knock from Dube, he deserved a half ton but falls one short of it. Fuller and on middle, Dube looks to go over mid-wicket but hits it high up in the air, Lewis at deep md-wicket runs to his right and takes it with a slide. He does indicate he lost it in the lights so does well to hang on. Can Lucknow finish well now?

18.11

We are all set to begin! Lucknow players are in huddle and they disperse now to take their respective positions. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Robin Uthappa are the openers for Chennai. Avesh Khan to start with the ball for Lucknow. Can he make the new ball talk. Let's find out. Here we go...

Gautam Gambhir, the mentor of Lucknow, says that his role has a lot to do with strategy and helping people and more importantly about getting results their way. Tells that they played well from the situation they were in but they need to learn and it is all about results. Talks about Ayush Badoni and tells that it is too early to talk about him and one innings does not make him a superstar but says that he has talent and that is why he is in the team. Says that it has been good for him so far but there are lot of emotions involved and adds that it is a new franchise and they want to grow with the franchise.

Chennai (Playing XI) - Ruturaj Gaikwad, Robin Uthappa, Moeen Ali (In place of Devon Conway), Ambati Rayudu, Ravindra Jadeja (C), MS Dhoni (WK), Shivam Dube, Dwayne Bravo, Dwaine Pretorius (In place of Mitchell Santner), Tushar Deshpande, Mukesh Choudhary (In place of Adam Milne).

Lucknow (Playing XI) - KL Rahul (C), Quinton de Kock (WK), Evin Lewis, Manish Pandey, Deepak Hooda, Ayush Badoni, Krunal Pandya, Dushmantha Chameera, Andrew Tye (In place of Mohsin Khan), Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan.

Ravindra Jadeja, the skipper of Chennai, says they wanted to bowl first too as there is some grass on the wicket but now they need to bat well. Tells that they they are blessed to have a huge fan following. Informs that Moeen Ali is back and Milne is out due to an injury and they have three changes in their team.

KL Rahul, the skipper of Lucknow, says they need to play good cricket at the end of the day and they have been watching the other games and the ball really gets wet and hence, they want to bowl first. States he really enjoyed the last game, the boys showed a lot of fight and they showed great character but they are looking forward to this game. Informs they have one change, Andrew Tye comes in for Mohsin Khan.

TOSS - The coin goes up and lands in favour of Lucknow. They have elected to BOWL first.

PITCH REPORT - Graeme Swann is down for a pitch report. Tells that one side boundary is shorter and the other side is longer. He says that there was a bit of extra bounce in the first game on this venue. Tells that the batters were not able to get off the front foot so adds that expect a bit of halfway magic. He tells that the water has been put on the surface since the other day and says that it is a bit greener. Mentions that the pitch is good to bat on but the seamers might get help here. Signs off by saying that is overall a good surface for batting.

Chennai, on the other hand, just could not assess the conditions and adapt quickly on a fresh wicket in their opening game. The top-order faltered and after that, they were always behind the game despite MS Dhoni displaying some of his vintage finishing skills. In the bowling department, apart from Dwayne Bravo, everyone else had an ordinary outing but with Moeen Ali all set to be back for this encounter, expect Chennai to come out all guns blazing. Will we see Chennai opening their account on the points table tonight? Or will Lucknow cross the line to register the first victory for a new franchise? We shall find out. Toss and team sheets in a while.

Lucknow have one of the most celebrated opening pair of the tournament with KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock. However,  it was the depth in their squad that came to their rescue when the top-order faltered in the opening game. The bowling group too showed tremendous fight defending a modest total in wet conditions and despite a loss, the first game must have surely given them a lot of confidence and we can expect a more clinical display from KL Rahul and his boys in this game.

The high-octane action in the 15th edition of the Indian T20 League continues as the defending champions, Chennai get ready to lock horns against a star-studded Lucknow team. Both teams started their campaign with a loss in the opening game and it is an opportunity for them to get their house in order tonight. If Lucknow win, it will be the first victory for the new franchise and they will surely be looking to notch it up against one of the most successful teams in the history of the Indian T20 League, Chennai.
