We're done with all the games from Group B. Scotland and Bangladesh have booked their place in the Super 12. On Friday, at 2 pm local (10 am GMT), it will be a do-or-die game between Namibia and Ireland to decide the second team to qualify from Group A. We will have another contest in the evening at 6 pm local (2 pm GMT) between Sri Lanka and the Netherlands but there isn't much riding on that game in terms of qualification. Do join us for all the action. Cheers!

Kyle Coetzer, the winning captain of Scotland, says it's a great feeling. He applauds the efforts of Oman and also the management for organizing this stage of the tournament. He adds that this win is huge and will help the game grow in Scotland. Adds that this team is all about togetherness and going through thick and thin and learning from mistakes. Further states that going into the next round, the challenge will be tough but there is no reason to fear anyone and they will go into every game with hope. Tells that bowling has been good and they would like someone to get a big score. Signs off by saying that they will find some time to celebrate tonight.

Zeeshan Maqsood, the skipper of Oman, says that they have lost a chance but they will come back stronger. Adds that they were not able to put a good total on the board and also bowled too short. Further says that they didn't get the breakthroughs. States that overall they are happy with how the Oman boys have performed. Adds that Jatinder Singh, unfortunately, got out and when your in-form batsman gets out cheaply in a big match, it puts pressure on others. Adds that he is sorry that they did not deliver but they are happy overall and are looking forward to the series against Namibia.

Josh Davey (4-0-25-3) is the Man of the Match. Says that the boys are absolutely buzzing and what a day it is for Scottish cricket. Adds that they do have an early flight to catch but there will be some celebrations tonight. Mentions that the catches did go to hand today and that bit of luck is needed. Also adds that T20 is all about momentum which they have and will be looking to take it forward and pull off some upsets as they have done in the past.

Presentation time...

At the halfway mark, when the equation was very simple, Kyle Coetzer got bowled and it gave Oman a slight opening. There was a quiet period after the Drinks break where Oman gave away only 11 runs in 3 overs but the required rate never bothered Scotland. A couple of biggies from the bat of Richie Berrington followed next and settled things well for the Scottish team. They eventually crossed the line with 3 overs to spare. Heartbreak for Oman but they did well to reach this stage. They got outplayed here but in the other two games, Oman left a big impact.

Chasing a target of 123, Scotland only needed to bat sensibly and concentrate on building partnerships. Their openers provided them with a good platform with George Munsey playing some attractive shots. After his departure, Kyle Coetzer took things under his control and formed another partnership for the second wicket. The Scottish skipper returned to form in this crucial game and put his side in a winning position.

A clinical victory for Scotland and they have booked their place in the Super 12. They were exceptional with the ball to restrict Oman to a below-par total and then their batters made short work of the target in front of them. What a day for Scottish cricket as they have qualified for the Super 12 for the first time! Scotland will go to Group 2 where they will compete with teams like India, Pakistan, New Zealand and Afghanistan.

Commentary

We are back for the all important run chase! The umpires are out in the middle as the Oman players are seen in a huddle. George Munsey and Kyle Coetzer are the openers for Scotland. Bilal Khan to get us underway with the ball.

... THE RUN CHASE ...

Right then! 123 needed for Scotland to confirm their top 2 places. An easy target for a team who is yet to register a loss and they will fancy chasing it down. Stay tuned as the second essay is just around the corner.

Safyaan Sharif comes up for a chat. Says that he is very happy with the way they have restricted Oman. Reckons that Scotland bowled well in the Powerplay and at the death and they succeeded as a bowling unit. Shares that the surface is slow and they used variations to get some purchase from the wicket. Safyaan Sharif feels that it's a biased game for a bowler and he tries his best to enjoy and contribute. Mentions that the target could be tricky but he is backing his batsmen.

An excellent performance from Scotland and they are performing with some sheer confidence right now. They did well to strike at regular intervals and didn't allow Oman to get on the front foot. Right from the start, they put pressure on the opposition. They failed to take wickets in the middle phase but they did not allow any freebies. A collective performance from all the bowlers and Scotland will be very happy going into the break. Josh Davey was the pick of the bowlers as he scalped 3 wickets.

It turned out to be a bad toss to win for Oman as their plan to bat first has not gone as they planned. Oman had a chaotic start as they lost Jatinder Singh early on. Kashyap Prajapati fell too and they were in a spot of bother very early in the game. Aqib Ilyas and Mohammad Nadeem joined hands to steady the ship. Both got good starts and did well to put Oman in a stable position but gave away their wickets. 96 for 6 at one stage and it was their skipper, Zeeshan Maqsood who was fighting a lone battle as the wickets were falling at the other end. In the end, he also got out after showing a fighting spirit, and Oman were bowled out in the end.

Just two boundaries were scored in the last 5 overs and that tells you the story of Oman's batting. Not what they desired of but now they have to bowl their skin out in this crucial match.

OUT! CAUGHT! Oman have been bowled out for 122! Full and wide, Fayyaz Butt leans into the cover drive and absolutely nails it. Butt though hits it straight to the man at cover-point. Chris Greaves takes a sharp catch and Josh Davey has his third wicket.

19.54

FOUR! Shortish ball, outside off and Fayyaz Butt has muscled this one. Butt hangs back and pulls it to deep mid-wicket. The fielder in the deep attacks the ball, attempts to catch it with a dive but misses and it sneaks past him to find the fence.

Khawar Ali is the last man to bat.

19.41W

OUT! RUN OUT! The batters try to push for the second which was never on and it results in another wicket. Full and straight, a near yorker, Khan brings his bottom hand into play and forces it down the ground. Calum MacLeod is quick to latch onto that one, running across to his left from long off and sends across a flat throw to the bowler. Bilal Khan is stranded halfway down the pitch while attempting the second run. Josh Davey whips off the bails off at the non-striker's end.

Bilal Khan is the new man in.

19.3W

OUT! CAUGHT! For a moment, it looked to be going all the way but Calum MacLeod remained cool as a cucumber. In the slot and Zeeshan Maqsood flat-bats it towards the wide long off fence. Maqsood does strike it well but the ball goes very flat. Calum MacLeod moves swiftly to his right in the deep and takes a sharp catch. The skipper departs after a fighting knock.

19.20

Maqsood tries to get funky but ends up missing it completely. A fuller delivery, around off, Maqsood is well inside his crease as he looks to play the reverse paddle but can't change his grip in time and ends up not making any connection.

19.11

Full and straight, dug out to deep mid-wicket for a run.

Who will bowl the ultimate over? Josh Davey it is.

Swing and a miss from Zeeshan Maqsood. Full and wide, Maqsood throws his hands at it but doesn't connect.

18.51

In the air..safe! Fayyaz Butt walks right across his stumps and looks to scoop the full delivery over short fine leg. The ball pops up off the toe end of the bat and both the keeper and Mark Watt at short fine leg have a bit of a stop-start towards the ball, leaving it for each other without any calling. In the end, neither gets to it and a chance goes down. A single is taken.

18.41

Low full toss, on middle and difficult to get underneath. Maqsood heaves it towards deep mid-wicket and picks up a run.

18.36

SIX! That'll get the crowd going! A length ball, around leg, Zeeshan Maqsood picks it up nicely, swivels and dispatches it almost onto the roof behind the square leg fence. That's a 92-metre monster!

18.21

Full and on off, Butt gets it down to long off and gives the strike back to his skipper.

18.11

On top of middle and right in the arc for Maqsood. Maqsood makes room and heaves it to wide long on for a single. No timing on that one.

Who will bowl the penultimate over? It is Safyaan Sharif.

A length ball, outside off and this one has no pace on it. Fayyaz Butt looks to play at it but gets undone by the lack of pace.

17.51

Was that a catch? Fullish ball, on off and Zeeshan Maqsood punches it right back towards the bowler. Josh Davey can't pouch it and they take a single.

Fayyaz Butt walks out now.

17.4W

OUT! CAUGHT! The short ball has done the trick for Josh Davey. Davey bowls a really well-directed bumper, right around the helmet of the batter. Suraj Kumar looks to hook but is through with his shot a bit early and ends up getting a top edge. The ball flies towards the deep square leg fence and Brad Wheal slides across to his left to take a nice catch.

17.30

Full and wide, Suraj Kumar gets low and drives it nicely but can't get it past the cover fielder.

17.21

Davey just misses the wide yorker and Maqsood slashes it to deep point for just a single. The boundaries have dried up a bit now. The last one came in the 15th over.

17.11

Davey sees Kumar coming down the track and pulls back the length. He bowls it slowly as well but Kumar still manages to heave it across to deep mid-wicket for a run.

On middle and leg again, Matthew Cross sweeps it to fine leg for a couple. Good two tidy overs from Oman here. But they need wickets here.

Oman have taken the review for an LBW decision. UltraEdge shows that the ball did not take the bat or the glove on the way. Ball Tracker shows that the ball is going over the middle stump and hence, the onfield decision of NOT OUT is upheld.

It should just be a minor blip for Scotland as they are breezing through in this run chase and still have 8 wickets in hand. With not many runs on the board, the Oman bowlers have conceded way too many boundaries and as a result, the hosts are on the back foot. Scotland just require 48 more runs off 60 balls.

OUT!

Update - Bangladesh have steamrolled PNG by 84 runs to qualify for the Super 12. This game between Oman and Scotland is now a straight knockout and the winning team will book the last spot available in Group B.

This is the last game of Group B and Oman in the first game of this group got off to a thumping start as they beat Papua New Guinea by 10 wickets. In the next game, however, against a stronger opponent Bangladesh, they went down by 26 runs. Scotland, on the other hand, will be high on confidence as they beat Bangladesh in their opening encounter and followed it up with another win against Papua New Guinea. Oman have a superior net run rate than Scotland while the Scottish team has been unbeatable so far. Can Oman put another spirited performance here and advance to the Super 12? Or will Scotland emerge victorious again?

Hello and a very warm welcome to this crucial Group B encounter between Oman and Scotland. Scotland are coming into this game on the back of winning both their earlier matches in the tournament. Oman, on the other hand, started their campaign with a win but suffered a heartbreaking loss in their second game. The group is still wide open and three teams are in with a chance to advance into the next round. A win here for any of these two sides will see them through to the next round. Will it be Oman or Scotland? We shall find out soon. Stay tuned.
