Right then. Pakistan will face Australia and New Zealand will lock horns against England in the semi-finals. But, there is still one more game left in the Super 12s. On 8th November, India will take on Namibia. Both these teams would want to finish the competition with a win. The match will start at 6 pm Local (2 pm GMT). Do join us there. Till then, take care and goodbye.

The winning skipper, Babar Azam, says that they are playing as a unit and that's why they are playing consistent cricket. Mentions that their plan was to bat well and credits Malik for his finishing and also his terrific knock. Tells that they will try to keep this momentum and make sure they play like this against Australia as well. Adds that it feels good to play in front of the fans and the way they come here for them feels amazing.

Kyle Coetzer, the Scotland skipper, is in for a chat. He thinks that they bowled brilliantly today in the Powerplay. Mentions, when you have a batting lineup like Pakistan have, the batters are going to find the boundary but he is proud of the fight his side put in. He hopes that they have inspired a few kids back at home and they will try to take the Scottish side upwards from here. Mentions that they are going to take the experience away from here and will make sure that they study Australian pitches before the next T20 World Cup. Ends by saying that they are really happy to get this exposure and this will be crucial to their learnings.

Shoaib Malik wins the Man of the Match award for his gun-blazing effort with the blade. He says that he had in his mind to get at least 150 and not lose many wickets early on. Mentions, he took a couple of deliveries to assess himself and then managed to build on the slow start. Adds that winning is a big thing, the side will take a lot of momentum going deep into the competition. Ends by saying, he seems to be fit to play the game and wants to keep challenging himself.

Stay tuned for the presentation.

A brilliant bowling show yet again by Pakistan. Their bowlers have been sensational in the competition and this game was no different. All the bowlers delivered and Pakistan were always in control of the situation. Shadab Khan continued his brilliant form and took 2 wickets while giving only 14 runs. The rest of the bowlers did their job well too. Babar Azam would be very happy with the way his team has played in the Super 12s and they should be immensely proud of being the only unbeaten team so far.

Scotland were never in the chase. They did not get off to a great start and they were always behind the required rate. Dealing with this quality bowling attack proved to be too big a challenge for them. All their batters, with the exception of Richie Berrington, faltered and the game was practically over before the death overs. Berrington got to his fifty but had no other batter support him in the middle. In the end, they fell short by 72 runs.

Pakistan are unbeaten! What a run this team has experienced in the competition. To finish unbeaten in the Super 12s is no small feat and they should be mighty proud of themselves. Scotland, on the other hand, are on the other end of the spectrum as they finish their World Cup without a single win in the Super 12s. They did show a lot of promise in the earlier round but failed to deliver in the Super 12s. But, they will learn a lot from this and will hopefully emerge a stronger side in the future.

We are back for the chase! The players are out in the middle. George Munsey and Kyle Coetzer take the crease. Shaheen Afridi will steam in. Here we go...

... The Run Chase ...

Right then. 190 is the target for Scotland and it will be a tough one. Will Pakistan defend it and continue their unbeaten streak in the competition? Or will the Scottish pull this off? Stay with us to find out.

Mohammad Hafeez is down for a chat. He says that they wanted to get 175 on this pitch and Malik finished it nicely. Mentions that Sharjah is low and skiddy so he wanted to play his shots and play it straight. Tells that they do consider the conditions and adapt accordingly. Adds that they allow their batters to go out there and see how it's going and play accordingly. Ends by saying that he is really happy with the score.

A pretty good comeback by Pakistan. They did not get the best of starts as Mohammad Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman fell quite early. But the batting of Babar Azam was the glue that held the innings together. He got to his 50 and anchored the innings. Mohammad Hafeez too hit a few lusty blows but after his and Azam's departure, the stage was set for Shoaib Malik and Asif Ali to provide with a strong finish. Ali did not get to face a lot of deliveries but Shoaib Malik put on a show out there. 18 balls were played by him and he scored 54 runs, which included 6 maximums. A brilliant show by him.

Scotland started quite well with the ball. Not a lot of freebies were given at the start and they took a couple of early wickets. Whenever the Pakistani batters looked set to tee off, Scottish bowlers provided with a wicket to keep them in the game. But towards the end, they were put under the pump by the Pakistani finishers. It was a good show by them, but they would have wanted to finish better. Chris Greaves was the pick of the bowlers for his 2 wickets while Safyaan Sharif and Hamza Tahir took 1 each. But Chris Greaves took a big beating in the last over where Shoaib Malik went gun blazing.

Wow, that was some brutal hitting! At one point, it looked like Pakistan would get to somewhere around 160 but some unbelievable hitting by Shoaib Malik in the death overs took them to 189. A brilliant finish to the innings and Pakistan have the momentum.

Commentary

Done with the pre-match formalities. The Scottish players spread out on the field after hearing some words by their skipper in a huddle. Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan stride out to bat. Hamza Tahir is set to start with the ball. Before the start, the Scottish team takes the knee to support the Black Lives Matter movement and the Pakistani teams have their hands on their hearts to show their support to the fight against racism. Here we go....

We are set for the clash! The teams are out for the national anthems. First, the anthem of Scotland will be played, followed by Pakistan's.

Shaheen Afridi is down for a chat. He says that bowling with Hasan Ali and Haris Rauf is great and it's a good combination. Tells that he has played for the last 3 years for Pakistan in all three formats and tries to keep things simple. Adds that whatever format it is, he tries to give 100 percent for the team. Says that Shahid Afridi is his hero and he requested PCB to get number 10 and feels lucky to have it.

Kyle Coetzer, the skipper of Scotland, says that they have been looking forward to playing against teams like India and Pakistan. Adds that they believed that they can beat the top sides, but it was important for them to go through these challenges. Informs that they have two changes and jokes that he is getting used to losing the toss now.

The captain of Pakistan, Babar Azam says that they will bat first. Mentions that they want to put runs on the board and put pressure on them. Tells that the people are supporting them and they are happy with their performance. Adds that they are looking to carry the same momentum and informs that they are unchanged.

Scotland (Playing XI) - George Munsey, Kyle Coetzer (C), Matthew Cross (WK), Richie Berrington, Dylan Budge (In for Calum MacLeod), Michael Leask, Chris Greaves, Mark Watt, Hamza Tahir (In for Alasdair Evans), Safyaan Sharif, Brad Wheal.

Pakistan (Unchanged playing XI) - Babar Azam (C), Mohammad Rizwan (WK), Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, Asif Ali, Shadab Khan, Imad Wasim, Hasan Ali, Haris Rauf, Shaheen Afridi.

TOSS - Both the skippers come out to the middle for the flip of the coin. The coin goes up and lands in favour of Pakistan. They have opted to BAT first.

Just an update for everyone. The clash between Afghanistan and New Zealand has ended and the Kiwis have won the clash. That means that Pakistan will be joined by New Zealand as the two semi-finalists from this group. India and Afghanistan are eliminated and the clash between India and Namibia will be a dead rubber.

As far as Scotland are concerned, they won all their three matches in the first round but have underperformed in the Super 12s. They have lost all their four matches though they looked competitive in a couple of matches. The tournament has been a learning curve for them and will be only playing for pride. In their last match, they were folded for mere 85 runs and they will look to put up a better fight in this match and end the tournament on a winning note. Stay tuned for further updates.

Pakistan have already sealed their berth in the semi-finals by winning four matches on the trot. They are looking like a really strong side and are the only team to stay unbeaten so far. Since they have already qualified, it will be interesting to see how they approach this game. It'll be also interesting to see whether they play their first choice set of players or whether they will rest a few key players and test their bench strength. They would look to end the tournament on a high and remain unbeaten in the Super 12s.

Match 41 of the T20 World Cup sees a clash between Pakistan and Scotland. This is sort of a dead rubber as both teams have nothing to lose or gain from the Super 12s anymore. But, it is still a game of cricket and we hope for a good game. On that note, a very warm welcome to the coverage.

... Match Day ...
