So, that is it from this game then! It is Bangladesh who take the lead and they now have a chance to seal the series with a win in the next which is a must-win for the hosts. That game will be played on the 20th of March and it will begin at 1330 IST (0800 GMT). Join us for the build-up though which will begin earlier. Till then, take care and goodbye!

Tamim Iqbal, the skipper of Bangladesh, says that it is a big win for them, a special win as they have never won in South Africa. Tells that Das and his partnership was good. He adds that Yasir Ali innings was special and overall everyone contributed. He applauds his fast bowlers and says that they have been doing quite well recenty. He adds that one needs the character like Mehidy in the team and adds that he bowled brilliantly under pressure. Tells that Mehidy Hasan was his man of the match. Mentions that they can celebrate today and they need to focus tomorrow and South Africa is a good side and recokns that they will come hard at them. He mentions that they need to come prepared in the next game.

Shakib Al Hasan is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH. He says that when he spend 7-8 balls, he thought that it is a good wicket and they needed over 300. He says that they wanted to capitaise on the good start and keep the monetunm going and applauds Yasir Ali for his performance. He mentions that as soon as shine was gone the ball did not do much and they had to take calculated risk and it came off today. Tells that it was important to go in the middle overs and the momentum they gained in the 30-40 th over proved vital. He mentions that they knew Rabada would bowl in the end and their scoring rate meant that he had to be brought in early.

Temba Bavuma, the skipper of South Africa says that Bangladesh had momentum coming into the break as they have away 180 runs in the last 20 overs. He says that they need to have lot of conversations about their performance with the ball and they did well in the start but could not do well in the last overs. He says that they would have been happy with 270-280 on the board but they gave away 40 runs more and and that was the difference in the end. Tells that with a big score to chase they needed someone to play a big innings and score the century and says that his dismissal was untimely. He mention that they need to play better in the next game and have to bounce back. States that they need to show resilience they are known for.

Time for the presentation...

Bangladesh were brilliant with the ball! It was Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam with the new ball who caused problems. The Fizz, Mustafizur Rahman and Shakib Al Hasan continued the good work in the middle overs. They did not pick wickets but kept a hold on the scoring. Mehidy Hasan leaked runs in his initial overs but came back strongly at the death. The pick however, were the Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam who were just brilliant and always took wickets when needed. Overall, a very clinical show by the visitors.

In the chase, they lost three early wickets. Bavuma and Rassie van der Dussen then steadied the ship but when it was time to up the ante, Bavuma fell. Miller and Rassie van der Dussen then revived the hopes but the former fell when his side needed him to go on for longer. It was all left for Miller to do in the end, he tried his best but it was too much of a task and in the end, his side fell well short.

To be honest, that stand between Yasir Ali and Shakib Al Hasan just took the game away from them. The rate at which they scored with was outstanding and since then, South Africa just could not find a way back into the game.

A thumping win for Bangladesh to take a 1-0 lead in this series. What a statement made by them, they were not given a chance by many to win probably even one game but they have beaten the hosts in the first one itself and in some style.

Commentary

We are back for the chase! Bangladesh players are out there in the middle. Kyle Verreynne and Janneman Malan are the openers for South Africa. Shakib Al Hasan to start with the ball for Bangladesh. Here we go...

...THE RUN CHASE…

Now the target is a big one. South Africa need to bat really well if they are to chase this down. Bangladesh have variety in their bowling and will back themselves to defend it. Chase in a bit…

Yasir Ali is down for a quick chat. He says that he is very happy with the innings. He mentions that Tamim and Das did the hard job early on and the pitch became better later on and they just backed themselves. He mentions that he was prepared for the short ball and says that he liked his straight shot against Ngidi the most. He says they are confident of defending this total but adds that they need to bowl well.

The bowling was good to begin with but post the 35th over, it all went wrong for South Africa. Their bowlers were taken to the cleaners. Lungi Ngidi had a day to forget. The others too were on the expensive side. Maharaj though bowled decently and so did Jansen but overall it was not a good performance.

It was the openers who led the way for the visitors as they added 95. They went about things slowly but it wasn’t easy to bat against the new ball. Then, there was a time where they lost 3 in quick succession but then came the stand which turned the game in the visitors’ favor. Yasir Ali and Shakib Al Hasan added more than 100 with both scoring half tons. Both though fell in quick succession but a few handy innings down the order has taken them to a score which is just above par.

End of an excellent batting performance from the visitors and they will be extremely pleased with where they stand in the game at the moment. South Africa on the other hand, look a little deflated as they walk off as they know they have a big task ahead of them.

Drinks! Bangladesh have backed up their good batting performance with some quality bowling in these first 15 overs. They have taken three early wickets and South Africa are in all sorts of trouble. A lot depends on this pair in the middle for South Africa. However, Bangladesh have some good variety in their bowling and it looks a tough task for South Africa from hereon. The next phase is crucial and South Africa need it to go their way.

One might argue that it is slightly on the slower side but Bangla Tigers will take it especially against a quality bowling attack in alien conditions. Time for national anthems! It is Bangladesh's first followed by the South African one. We are done with the anthems now. South African players are in the huddle and they spread out now to take their respective positions. Tamim Iqbal and Liton Das are the openers for Bangladesh. Players from both sides take knee in support of the Black Lives Matter Movement. Lungi Ngidi to start with the ball for South Africa. Here we go...

Mark Boucher, the South African coach, says that it has been a successful season and it is also about how they finish. He mentions that it is an important series for them and they hope to do well. Tells that there is lot of depth in the side and with Nortje and Quinton de Kock missing in the first ODI, it is an opportunity for other guys. He says that it is not ideal to have full-strength side for the Test series but it is what it is.

Russell Domingo, the Bangladesh coach, says that the performance in New Zealand was one of the best he has been part of and that series gives them lot of confidence. He adds that Afghanistan series was a confidence booster too as they have some quality spinners in their lineup. He mentions that having Shakib Al Hasan gives them lot of balance and it is great to have him in the side. Tells that experience plays a big role and it is nice to have that.

Bangladesh (Playing XI) - Tamim Iqbal (C), Liton Das, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim (WK), Yasir Ali, Mahmudullah, Afif Hossain, Mehidy Hasan, Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, Mustafizur Rahman.

South Africa (Playing XI) - Janneman Malan, Aiden Markram, Temba Bavuma (C), Rassie van der Dussen, Kyle Verreynne (WK), David Miller, Andile Phehlukwayo, Kagiso Rabada, Keshav Maharaj, Marco Jansen, Lungi Ngidi.

TOSS - The coin goes up and lands in favour of South Africa. They have elected to BOWL first.

Both the sides head into this encounter in form. Bangladesh beat Afghanistan in their own backyard and South Africa recently whitewashed India, they too won at home. Both will want to keep the good work going. However, this is going to be a huge challenge for the visitors who are not such a great visiting side. However, they are an unpredictable team and can surely beat anyone on their day. South Africa on the other hand, will see this as an opportunity to take maximum Super League points and one won't bet against them to do so. Toss and teams in a bit.

With all the Test cricket going on, it is now time to shift focus on the ODI format. It is a three-match ODI series between South Africa and Bangladesh with the first being played in Centurion! Welcome to the coverage.
