OUT! Cleaned up! Wanindu Hasaranga, you beauty! What a show he is putting on tonight and the crowd is going crazy here at the R. Premadasa! This is a dream delivery for a leg-spinner to a left-hander. Hasaranga floats it up on off stump and just allows the ball to grip and turn into the batter. Ashton Agar is drawn into the drive and does so but leaves a gap between bat and pad. The ball turns in after pitching and goes through the gap to crash into the middle stump. OUT! CAUGHT! Glenn Maxwell has given his wicket away and Wanindu Hasaranga does get the all-important breakthrough for his side. Nicely tossed up, on off. Maxwell just looks to caress the ball and not swing through the line. Maxwell does exactly that but aerially and times it a bit too well. Coming to the ball - this was the slower one, shorter, and outside off. Glenn Maxwell punches it off the back foot towards deep cover. They complete the first run. Glenn Maxwell calls for the second run but shouts no when David Warner is halfway down the track. Pathum Nissanka grabs the ball and throws it to the keeper. Kusal Mendis then whips the bails off in a flash. David Warner walks back in disappointment.

Oh, no! Kusal Mendis is down. The previous delivery not only deceived the batter but the wicket-keeper as well. The bad bounce caught Mendis just above the knee roll as he was back-peddling. That is a sore one and the physio is out, hope Mendis is fine. Everything seems fine now as Mendis is back on his feet and we are good to continue.

FOUR! Crunched! Fuller one, wide of off again. David Warner presses forward and this time he drives it from the middle of his bat through cover for a boundary. An entertaining Powerplay comes to an end. Australia are 63 for 3 at the end of the Powerplay!

Good stop by the keeper! Wide of off this time, full in length again. David Warner tries to drive this away from his body, but the ball goes off the inside edge towards the keeper. Kusal Mendis dives to his right, and grabs the ball with his right hand. He saved a certain boundary there!

OUT! LBW! Nuwan Thushara strikes and he gets rid of Steven Smith! A huge wicket for Sri Lanka. They have come back stronger with these quick wickets. A length ball, nipping in just a tad, around the leg pole. Steven Smith looks to flick this away but he misses and gets hit on his pads. A huge shout for LBW, and the umpire raises his finger! Steven Smith opts for a review immediately. UltraEdge shows no bat involved. Ball Tracking indicates three reds and Steven Smith has to depart. Australia have lost their third wicket!

FOUR! Nicely done! Nuwan Thushara begins with a length ball, darting it on his thigh pads. Steven Smith uses his wrists and flicks it through square leg for a boundary.

Mitchell Marsh reaches out and tries to broom it away but doesn't reach the pitch of the ball. The ball turns into the right-hander and hits Marsh plumb in front. The umpire raises his finger in a jiffy and the visitors lose their second wicket. 72 needed now off 92 balls.

This is tossed up again, very full though and on off. Marsh looks to drive it through covers but gets an inside edge past the leg stump. The batters pick up two runs.

FOUR! Up and over and Australia surpass the 50-run mark inside the first 5 overs. Tossed up, on middle and leg. Marsh opens those broad shoulders of his and whacks it over the man at mid on for yet another boundary.

FOUR! Another poor delivery from Maheesh Theekshana, a low full toss that is angled onto the pads. David Warner gets down on his knees and slogs it aerially into the backward square leg fence.

Oh, dear! It has started to rain and the players have started to walk off the field. But hang on, the rain has already eased down and the umpires ask the players to come back on. The game will continue!

Huge appeal but turned down. Wanindu Hasaranga bowls the googly now and it skids through. Mitchell Marsh looks to play at it but probably gets a faint inside edge on it before the ball pings him on the pads around middle and leg. The replay shows that the ball was going down leg.

OUT! TAKEN! A superb catch by Danushka Gunathilaka and Aaron Finch has to depart after a blistering start. This is nicely tossed up by Wanindu Hasaranga, fuller and on off. The ball turns away from the right-hander as Finch looks to once again lift it over extra cover. Finch doesn't get much timing on it but Danushka Gunathilaka jumps up to take a solid catch over his shoulders. It is checked because Hasaranga might have just touched the tramline at the end of the bowling crease but luckily for him, on the first point of impact, his back leg doesn't touch the tramline and Sri Lanka have a breakthrough.

Is that out? The umpires check if Wanindu Hasaranga's back foot was within the tramline while bowling. The replays show that he is okay! Aaron Finch has to walk back!

On middle, turned through mid-wicket by Finch. The fielder covers a lot of ground to his right from cow corner as the batters pick up two more.

FOUR! Aaron Finch is just making it look too easy at the moment. Finch keeps on staying around the leg stump as this is floated up around the off stump. Finch goes inside-out again and picks up a boundary in the extra cover region.

Tosses it up first ball and Aaron Finch thumps it right back past the bowler. The ball slows down due to the outfield and Dasun Shanaka is able to cover the ground to his right from long off and cut it off. Two taken.

Excellent running between the wickets. Length, around middle and leg. Warner hangs deep and works it through mid-wicket. He calls for two and races back with time to spare. 18 off the over and Australia are off to a flier here. Just the 100 more needed.

Much better from Dushmantha Chameera and it almost brings a wicket. Chameera switches to around the wicket and angles in a slower delivery around the off pole. Warner looks to guide it behind square but gets an outside edge. The lack of pace means that the ball doesn't carry to the keeper and Warner survives.

WIDE! Pressure mounting on Dushmantha Chameera as he continues to struggle. This is down the leg side and a wide is called. 16 off the over already, still two deliveries remain.

SIX! WOW! This is pitched up on leg stump and it's the first ball that David Warner has faced tonight. Warner just swings through the line of the ball and launches it over the mid-wicket fence to get off the mark in style.

Good running and that's really smart batting from Finch. Angled into middle, Finch plays it with soft hands and towards cover before setting off for a quick single.

OUT! TAKEN! Another one bites the dust and this has just gone from bad to worse for the hosts. Kane Richardson just keeps bowling it a bit slower and into the deck. This is well outside the off stump and Chamika Karunaratne shuffles across a long way trying to swing across. The ball goes a long way up into the night sky and around wide long on. Ashton Agar moves to his right and takes yet another very well-judged catch.

No hat-trick! Slower again, into the pitch and outside off. Chamika Karunaratne can only manage to nudge it onto the leg side. No run so far in the final over.

OUT! TAKEN! Team hat-trick for Sri Lanka and Kane Richardson is on a hat-trick as well! Pitched up around off, Dushmantha Chameera backs away and just goes after it. Chameera swings hard and gets a lot of elevation on it but no timing. Ashton Agar settles under it at the long on fence and takes an assured catch. Kane Richardson has his third and Sri Lanka just getting no momentum whatsoever heading into the break.

OUT! CAUGHT! Straight to the man! This is short and wide from Kane Richardson but once again the pace is taken off the ball. Dasun Shanaka hangs deep in his crease and throws his hands at it. The ball is just a bit too wide and Shanaka cannot control the shot. The ball is hit hard but straight towards Aaron Finch at cover and he takes s sharp catch over there. Sri Lanka going down in a hurry here.

Chamika Karunaratne is the new man in. Also, Kane Richardson comes to bowl the final over.

OUT! CAUGHT! Jhye Richardson does have the last laugh and picks up his third wicket in the match. Richardson goes slower and into the deck. This is bowled wider of the off stump as well. Wanindu Hasaranga has to reach for it as he tries to lift it over covers. The ball goes high off the bottom part of the bat and David Warner takes an assured catch around the cover region.

FOUR! Now, that is muscled! Jhye Richardson looks for the yorker but misses the mark and serves it right in the slot. Hasaranga clears the front leg and thumps it past mid on for a boundary.

Edgy boundary but Wanindu Hasaranga certainly won't mind it. Hasaranga moves a bit in his crease and Jhye Richardson just bowls it on off. Hasaranga throws his hands at it and gets a thick outside edge. Matthew Wade has already taken a step to his left and can't adjust in time. The ball runs away to the third man fence.

Bangs in a bouncer now does Jhye Richardson. This is on middle and Hasaranga misses the ramp shot. No wide called for height, probably borderline.

Smart bowling! Josh Hazlewood sees Shanaka backing away and follows him. Shanaka gets cramped for room and can only manage to block it out.

A direct hit and Wanindu Hasaranga was a goner! Fuller in length and angled into the legs, Hasaranga tucks it away towards mid-wicket and just sets off. Glenn Maxwell picks it up but misses the stumps at the bowler's end. Single taken!

No run taken! Pitched up, on off and this is driven towards mid off but the batters opt not to go for the single.

FOUR! Beautifully placed by Dasun Shanaka. Length again, around middle. Shanaka backs away and just caresses it into the gap between backward point and short man for a boundary. Sri Lanka need more of the same from their skipper now;.

OUT! TAKEN! Soft, soft dismissal and Bhanuka Rajapaksa will be livid with himself. Kane Richardson bowls another slower and into the deck. This is around the hips and Rajapaksa just looks to help it over the fielder at short fine leg. Rajapaksa is way too early in the shot and due to the lack of pace, the ball loops up towards short fine leg where Josh Hazlewood takes a dolly of a catch. Sri Lanka lose their fifth and Australia on top of proceedings here.

Easy two! Back of a length and on leg stump, the pace is taken off the ball as well. Rajapaksa pulls it without much timing in front of square on the leg side for a brace.
