Right then, that is all we have from this game. Australia have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match T20I series. The final match of the T20I series will be played in Kandy, on Saturday the 11th of June. Sri Lanka will be looking to get going with a win whereas the visitors will be hoping for a clean sweep. That game begins at 7 pm IST (1.30 pm GMT) but our build-up will begin much sooner. Do join us then. Take care and goodbye!

Captain of Australia, Aaron Finch says, that their bowling unit did a fantastic job to restrict Sri Lanka, the wicket deteriorated towards the end but Matthew Wade showed all his experience. Adds that the one thing they had in their favour was the run rate and Wade just took his time to settle in. Says that the wicket was going to get slower, but in the Powerplay, they were always looking to target the bowlers.

Dasun Shanaka, the Sri Lanka skipper says, that 20 more runs would have been more crucial. Mentions that the top-order fell and they struggled to get going in the end, the conditions were tough. Says that they got many wickets in the middle but they failed to capitalize on that. Adds that they had a chat before the game if they need to add another seamer but they went with the same bowling attack and that did work in their favour.

Matthew Wade is the Player of the Match for his calm batting under pressure. He says that they gave a bit of a sniff tonight. Adds that Sri Lanka got momentum which was very tough to break. Adds that they are a hard team to stop when they get going. Mentions that their top-order got off to a flier of a start so the run-rate was never an issue, and his job at the backend was to get the team over the line.

Presentation ceremony...

Earlier in the game, Sri Lanka were inserted into bat and this time they didn't even have a good start and were struggling inside the Powerplay. The middle overs were decent as Charith Asalanka and Kusal Mendis stitched together a good stand but the loss of wickets at regular intervals, especially at the backend cost them dearly. The Richardson pairing of Jhye and Kane brought Australia wickets, 7 of them between those two and Glenn Maxwell too got a couple of crucial wickets. It was a solid bowling performance to restrict the opposition to just 124. During the chase, Australia got a fast start and a big chunk was taken off the target pretty soon. They did lose wickets in a heap in the middle overs as the Lankan spinners dominated and Wanindu Hasaranga once again showed why he is so highly rated. It was then an effort from Matthew Wade down the order that ensured his side got over the line and went on to seal the T20I series.

Well, Sri Lanka have lost the series but they will take a lot of positives from the second half of this game. After another sorry outing with the bat, the bowlers started off poorly too. But they kept on bowling with a lot of heart and then the wickets came. Wanindu Hasaranga was the star of the show as even after getting hit, he kept on tossing it up and ended up with four wickets. Dushmantha Chameera made a good comeback too after being hit for 18 runs in the first over. The rest of the bowlers were economical but they just didn't have enough runs to play with, 20 or so more and it might have been a different story. For now, they will look to focus on the next game and try to avoid a whitewash.

Having chased down a similar score in the first game, Australia were expected to do so yet again and they did get the start they needed. Aaron Finch took his form from the previous game and came out of the blocks quickly. Finch though tried to be over aggressive and ended up giving away his wicket. David Warner and Mitchell Marsh too started off in fine fashion but Marsh feel and then Steven Smith was dismissed soon after. Warner fell via a run-out and suddenly the visitors started to lose the plot a bit. Maxwell and Wade kept a calm head and got their side close to victory before Maxwell got out, leaving the door open for the opposition. In the end, Australia did get over the line thanks to a composed innings from Matthew Wade.

A nervy end to the match, but the Aussies have managed to get over the line and go on to win the T20I series with a game remaining. Over the two games so far, Australia have been the dominant side and for all the efforts of the Lankan bowlers in this game, the visitors did deserve to win the match and the series as well.

FOUR! There it is! Dasun Shanaka tosses this one up, full, outside off, spinning away a tad. Matthew Wade looks to drive this but the ball goes off the outside edge past the keeper towards third man for a boundary. Australia win by 3 wickets!

Outside off, tad shorter. Jhye Richardson knocks it down to long off for a single.

17.30

Around middle, back of a length. Jhye Richardson blocks it out.

A bit of thinking for Dasun Shanaka here. Sri Lanka are penalised for not getting through the overs in time and in the final three overs, they will have to have a minimum of 5 five fielders inside the 30-yard circle.

Commentary

We are back for the chase. The players are out in the middle. David Warner and Aaron Finch will open the batting for Australia. Maheesh Theekshana will begin with the ball. Let's go!

... THE RUN CHASE ...

Every game Australia just keeps proving why they are the World T20 Champions! Everything going right for Australia! They started the innings by grabbing two wickets but made sure they finished strongly as well. They once again grabbed wickets in a heap towards the end of the innings. Jhye Richardson and Kane Richardson picked up 7 wickets between them, while Glenn Maxwell grabbed two. Josh Hazlewood might have not grabbed a wicket but he was very economical in his spell. So, Australia have an opportunity here to clinch the T20I series. Can the openers do the job once again? We will find out. Stay tuned for the run chase.

Batting woes for Sri Lanka continue. They came out to bat with some aggressive intent. It was surely not the wrong approach but their plan did backfire as they lost two quick wickets within the Powerplay. Post that, Charith Asalanka and Kusal Mendis did some sort of repair work. They put on 66 runs together and steadied the Sri Lankan ship. But once Charith Asalanka perished, all the other batters fell like a pack of cards. They have failed to get even past their total in the first T20I. The Sri Lankan bowlers face another tough challenge ahead of them.

It's been the same story for both teams as compared to the first T20I. Australia once again were scintillating with the ball and the hosts were disappointing with the bat. Australia started the innings brilliantly and have ended the same way. Another clinical performance for the visitors in the field. At the pitch report, Russel Arnold informed us that it was a wicket where 170 could be achieved but Sri Lanka have managed to put an under-par total of 124.

Good running! Length ball, at the stumps. Nuwan Thushara heaves it towards wide long on and hurries back for the second. The throw is just a bit wide and Matthew Wade cannot reach the stumps. Two taken. Sri Lanka finish with 124/9!

19.51

Full and around off, drilled down to long off for a single.

Nuwan Thushara is the last man in.

19.4W

OUT! TAKEN! Another one bites the dust and this has just gone from bad to worse for the hosts. Kane Richardson just keeps bowling it a bit slower and into the deck. This is well outside the off stump and Chamika Karunaratne shuffles across a long way trying to swing across. The ball goes a long way up into the night sky and around wide long on. Ashton Agar moves to his right and takes yet another very well-judged catch.

19.30

No hat-trick! Slower again, into the pitch and outside off. Chamika Karunaratne can only manage to nudge it onto the leg side. No run so far in the final over.

Maheesh Theekshana walks out to bat.

19.2W

OUT! TAKEN! Team hat-trick for Sri Lanka and Kane Richardson is on a hat-trick as well! Pitched up around off, Dushmantha Chameera backs away and just goes after it. Chameera swings hard and gets a lot of elevation on it but no timing. Ashton Agar settles under it at the long on fence and takes an assured catch. Kane Richardson has his third and Sri Lanka just getting no momentum whatsoever heading into the break.

Dushmantha Chameera comes to the crease.

19.1W

OUT! CAUGHT! Straight to the man! This is short and wide from Kane Richardson but once again the pace is taken off the ball. Dasun Shanaka hangs deep in his crease and throws his hands at it. The ball is just a bit too wide and Shanaka cannot control the shot. The ball is hit hard but straight towards Aaron Finch at cover and he takes s sharp catch over there. Sri Lanka going down in a hurry here.

Chamika Karunaratne is the new man in. Also, Kane Richardson comes to bowl the final over.

OUT! CAUGHT! Jhye Richardson does have the last laugh and picks up his third wicket in the match. Richardson goes slower and into the deck. This is bowled wider of the off stump as well. Wanindu Hasaranga has to reach for it as he tries to lift it over covers. The ball goes high off the bottom part of the bat and David Warner takes an assured catch around the cover region.

18.54

FOUR! Now, that is muscled! Jhye Richardson looks for the yorker but misses the mark and serves it right in the slot. Hasaranga clears the front leg and thumps it past mid on for a boundary.

18.44

FOUR! Edgy boundary but Wanindu Hasaranga certainly won't mind it. Hasaranga moves a bit in his crease and Jhye Richardson just bowls it on off. Hasaranga throws his hands at it and gets a thick outside edge. Matthew Wade has already taken a step to his left and can't adjust in time. The ball runs away to the third man fence.

18.30

Bangs in a bouncer now does Jhye Richardson. This is on middle and Hasaranga misses the ramp shot. No wide called for height, probably borderline.

18.21

Length and wide of the off stump, driven hard and on the up but straight to the man at sweeper cover for a single.

Shorter and on the body, flicked off the hips towards fine leg for a single.

17.40

Swing and a miss! A touch fuller and closer to the off pole. Dasun Shanaka swings across the line but doesn't connect. Three dots on the trot now and the pressure keeps on mounting.

17.30

On a good length and around off, Dasun Shanaka just looks to guide it behind square on the off side but is well beaten.

17.20

Smart bowling! Josh Hazlewood sees Shanaka backing away and follows him. Shanaka gets cramped for room and can only manage to block it out.

17.11

A direct hit and Wanindu Hasaranga was a goner! Fuller in length and angled into the legs, Hasaranga tucks it away towards mid-wicket and just sets off. Glenn Maxwell picks it up but misses the stumps at the bowler's end. Single taken!

Josh Hazlewood (3-1-13-0) comes back into the attack.

No hat-trick but that is as close as one can get! Another gem of a delivery from Wanindu Hasaranga, tossed up outside off on a perfect length and it is the wrong 'un yet again. Jhye Richardson tries to defend it of the front foot but is late on it. The ball turns in and almost shaves the off stump. Another brilliant spell of bowling from Wanindu Hasaranga comes to an end.

OUT! Cleaned up! Wanindu Hasaranga, you beauty! What a show he is putting on tonight and the crowd is going crazy here at the R. Premadasa! This is a dream delivery for a leg-spinner to a left-hander. Hasaranga floats it up on off stump and just allows the ball to grip and turn into the batter. Ashton Agar is drawn into the drive and does so but leaves a gap between bat and pad. The ball turns in after pitching and goes through the gap to crash into the middle stump. Australia are 7 down now and Sri Lanka now believe that they can win this one. Wanindu Hasaranga is on a hat-trick as well.

OUT! CAUGHT! Glenn Maxwell has given his wicket away and Wanindu Hasaranga does get the all-important breakthrough for his side. Nicely tossed up, on off. Maxwell just looks to caress the ball and not swing through the line. Maxwell does exactly that but aerially and times it a bit too well. The ball goes towards long off and Danushka Gunathilaka takes a good catch under pressure and Maxwell walks back in utter disappointment. 26 needed now and just 4 wickets remain, things starting to heat up here.

Coming to the ball - this was the slower one, shorter, and outside off. Glenn Maxwell punches it off the back foot towards deep cover. They complete the first run. Glenn Maxwell calls for the second run but shouts no when David Warner is halfway down the track. Pathum Nissanka grabs the ball and throws it to the keeper. Kusal Mendis then whips the bails off in a flash. David Warner walks back in disappointment.

The ball turns away from the right-hander as Finch looks to once again lift it over extra cover. Finch doesn't get much timing on it but Danushka Gunathilaka jumps up to take a solid catch over his shoulders. It is checked because Hasaranga might have just touched the tramline at the end of the bowling crease but luckily for him, on the first point of impact, his back leg doesn't touch the tramline and Sri Lanka have a breakthrough.
