Right then! We have our four teams in the playoffs. We are done with the league stage and are set for the business end of the competition. Qualifier 1 will see the clash between Delhi and Chennai. It will be played on 10th October at 6 pm Local (2 pm GMT). Make sure you join us for what should be an exciting clash! Goodbye for now.

Ishan Kishan, the Player of the Match, says that it was a good thing for him and the team that he played well and he is happy to be back in form before the World Cup. Tells that he was very positive in the beginning as they were in a do-or-die situation. Adds that he did not hit many boundaries this season and his shot off Umran Malik stood out in this game. States that in this tournament, you have to be prepared for every circumstance and whenever an opportunity arises, they need to make use of it. States that he had a very good chat with Kohli and everyone supported him really well. Says that he would love to open and Kohli has told him that he has been picked as an opener but says that wherever he gets to bat, he wants to perform.

Rohit Sharma, the skipper of Mumbai, says that there is always an expectation from the franchise and they stand out due to what they have done in the past 5-6 years. Adds that he tries to back the players but there are situations when you drop someone. Adds that it has been wonderful to be part of this franchise. Says that they had the momentum when they won back-to-back games back in India but they lost their form after coming here to the UAE but he is very happy to end with a win. Adds that the fans have always supported them whether they play well or not and he hopes that they are happy with what they did in the past 3-4 years. Praises Ishan Kishan on how he batted and says it was wonderful to see him bat like this.

Stay tuned for the presentation ceremony to find out who the Player of the Match is and to hear from the winning skipper.

Suryakumar Yadav is down for a chat, he says that the show must go on and one must keep smiling. Adds that having a clear mindset and having nothing to lose helped them a lot. Says that the T20 WC is coming up and he is keeping the routines and processes the same for that.

Manish Pandey, the Hyderabad skipper, says that it is a very hot day and it was really tough. Goes on to say that he is struggling with his calf. States that this is probably the best surface they were playing on and they knew that Mumbai will come out all guns blazing. Adds that their bowlers gave a few extra runs and that cost them. Tells that they won only three games and they had some changes in the side and that did not work for them. Says that they struggled in India and they played better in this game but they were lacking a complete team effort. Adds that the whole team has to perform at the highest level.

Hyderabad had a mountain to climb and they had a great start at the top as Abhishek Sharma and Jason Roy got them off to a flier. But both the openers fell after getting a start. Abdul Samad and Mohammad Nabi did not make much of an impact and they were in a spot of bother. The required rate was climbing but Manish Pandey and Priyam Garg hit boundaries on a regular basis to make sure that they remain the hunt. Garg fell for 29 and Jason Holder fell on a low score too. But Pandey was fighting it out in the middle and got to his fifty. He kept the team in the hunt but needed support from the other end. That did not happen as wickets kept falling. In the end, they fell short by 42 runs.

Mumbai had a huge total on the board, but if they had to qualify for the playoffs, they would have needed to bowl out Hyderabad for 65 or less. But, that did not happen as Hyderabad got off to a great start. After that, Mumbai started taking wickets and came back in the game. They took wickets at regular intervals and made sure that the required rate was climbing up at a steady rate. All the bowlers except for Krunal Pandya took wickets. James Neesham, Nathan Coulter-Nile and Jasprit Bumrah took 2 wickets each while Piyush Chawla and Trent Boult took 1 each. They will be happy with the win but would have been happier if they had qualified for the playoffs. Mumbai did not have a great run in the UAE leg and the fact that NRR cost them a qualification would hurt them more.

We have our teams for the playoffs! The moment Hyderabad crossed the 65-run mark, the Kolkata camp would have celebrated! Mumbai needed a lot of things to go their way in this game to qualify. First, they needed the toss to go their way and it did. Then, they needed to put on a big score on the board and they did that too. But, they needed to skittle out Hyderabad and that did not happen. The defending champions will not be making it to the playoffs this year!

Commentary

We are back for the chase! Mumbai players are in a huddle. Jason Roy and Abhishek Sharma walk out to bat. Trent Boult is all set to steam in.

... The Run Chase ...

Right then! 236 to win for Hyderabad to end their tournament on a high. It looks difficult and Mumbai would want to bundle them out below 65. An exciting chase coming up. Do join us in a while.

Ishan Kishan is down for a chat, says that the intent was clear as they wanted to get around 250 runs. Adds that the plan was simple and they wanted to play their shots and not play selfish cricket. Says that opening the innings has been a good thing for him and he can play better like that. Informs that the wicket is a bit slow but still, a good wicket to bat on.

Hyderabad, on the other hand, were taken apart by Mumbai! Everybody who bowled was expensive. Jason Holder went for plenty, so did Siddarth Kaul. Umran Malik too received a beating. Rashid Khan had decent figures. Abhishek Sharma bowled just one over and he took 2 important wickets. Holder bowled a fine last over but they have a mountain to climb. Kolkata will hope that they cross 65 and help them qualify.

Mumbai were off to a terrific start as Ishan Kishan came out like a man on a mission. He raced to 84 in just 32 balls. Rohit Sharma looked good too. They did lose their way in the middle overs as they lost some wickets but Suryakumar Yadav came back to some form towards the final few overs. He hit the ball to all parts of the ground and took Mumbai to 235. They need to bowl Hyderabad out now for 65 or below to give themselves a chance to qualify.

An excellent last over from Jason Holder but it has been a terrific batting performance from Mumbai! They needed this big time and they now have a chance of qualifying provided they win by more than 171 runs. They will be very pleased with the effort but it is still not going to be easy for them to bowl Hyderabad out but they need to believe. Hyderabad will need to bat out of their skins to chase this down.

With Bumrah having two overs up his sleeves, Boult having one and Nathan Coulter-Nile having 3, they would back themselves to defend this. Here comes Nathan Coulter-Nile.

Hyderabad have been taken to the cleaners and they need wickets to make a comeback in this game.

Manish Pandey, the skipper of Hyderabad, says that it is his first game as a captain and it was a last-minute call as Kane Williamson got injured. Adds that they would have batted first as well to give Mumbai the least chances. Says that every game counts and he knows what Mumbai is up to but they are ready. Adds that Bhuvneshwar Kumar is injured and Mohammad Nabi comes in the side.

Rohit Sharma, the skipper of Mumbai, says that the numbers for them are pretty scary but they will give it their all. Adds that they want to express themselves and will try and do whatever they can with the bat. Says that their batting has let them down in UAE but it can happen with anyone. Informs that there are two changes. Krunal Pandya and Piyush Chawla get in the side. Saurabh Tiwary and Jayant Yadav miss out

Hyderabad (Playing XI) - Jason Roy, Abhishek Sharma, Manish Pandey (C) (IN PLACE OF BHUVNESHWAR KUMAR), Priyam Garg, Abdul Samad, Wriddhiman Saha (WK), Jason Holder, Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi (IN PLACE OF KANE WILLIAMSON), Umran Malik, Siddarth Kaul.

Mumbai (Playing XI) - Rohit Sharma (C), Ishan Kishan (WK), Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard, Krunal Pandya (IN PLACE OF JAYANT YADAV), James Neesham, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Jasprit Bumrah, Piyush Chawla (IN PLACE OF SAURABH TIWARY), Trent Boult.

Toss - Up goes the coin and it lands in favour of Mumbai. They have elected to BAT first. Manish Pandey is the captain for Hyderabad.

Pitch report - Pommie Mbangwa is down for the pitch report. He says that the pitch looks like a good one to bat on. Laxman Sivaramakrishnan joins him and says that there is a bit of grass on the wicket and it is quite hard. Adds that the ball will onto the bat nicely and there will be plenty of runs here.

Suryakumar Yadav is there for a chat. He says that nothing changes and they were doing the same things that they usually do. Tells that contribution for the team is very important and this year, he has not performed that well and he wants to get back to form. Says that he thinks that staying consistent is the key at this stage of his career. Says that they need to go all out.

This is also the first time that two games in the Indian T20 League will be played simultaneously! Abu Dhabi will see Hyderabad taking on Mumbai while Dubai will play host to the clash between Delhi and Bangalore. While the two teams in Dubai have qualified for the playoffs, Mumbai still have a slim chance. Hyderabad will be full of confidence after beating Bangalore and they would look to finish on a high.

Hyderabad have had a tough tournament, winning just three games so far and now they would want to end the season on a high. They won their last game against Bangalore and also reduced their chances of ending in the top 2. Now, Williamson's men would look to spoil the party for Mumbai as well. Hyderabad lost a close game the last time they met in India. But got over the line quite easily when they last met Mumbai in UAE back in the 2020 season. Will they make any team changes? Will David Warner return for what might be his final game in Hyderabad's colours? We will find out.

A miracle! Yes, that is what Mumbai need to qualify! They are up against the odds in match 55 of the Indian T20 League. Mumbai need to beat Hyderabad by 170 runs or more to go above Kolkata on net run rate and if they chase, they will be eliminated. That looks pretty impossible right but in a league like this, we have seen plenty of unbelievable things and we just cannot rule out a miracle here at Abu Dhabi. All odds are stacked against Mumbai and it is likely that Mumbai won't qualify but we can be assured that we are in for a fighting contest between Mumbai and Hyderabad.
