Right from the start, West Indies were on the back foot and there was never a moment where the Windies thought they had a chance. A poor performance from them overall.

Commentary

We are back for Ireland's reply. The players are out in the middle. Paul Stirling and Andy Balbirnie are the openers. Obed McCoy to bowl first.

...THE CHASE...

Right then! A do-or-die game for both teams! The first half is done. West Indies will look to bowl well and take a couple of wickets early on while Ireland will hope that the openers give a good start. An interesting chase is coming up...

Ireland will be happy as well with this score. Their discipline bowling has helped them keep West Indies away from a big score. Ireland bowled well. The slower balls clearly worked as four of the five wickets went to the spinners. Ireland have given a really good chance to chase this down.

West Indies were off to a watchful start and were just too cautious till the end. A bit more running and a few more lusty blows could have helped them dearly with the score. Still, this one is a competitive one barring how the pitch is playing. It is two-paced and not easy to bat. The Windies kept on losing wickets regularly but King was the mainstay. He batted throughout and his fifty along with Smith's important innings at the backend helped them get near 150.

A dot to end! Smith can't believed that has not been wided. Adair might have got away with one there. This is wide outside off, outside the tramline. Smith leaves it alone thinking it is a wide but not given. WEST INDIES END WITH 146!

19.54

FOUR! Carved away! Another boundary and Windies will end near 150. This is full and outside off, Smith carves it over the point fielder for a boundary.

19.42

NOT OUT! Excellent running from Odean Smith! He really put in those hard yards! He wanted to keep strike and gets it! A full toss outside off, it is hit through covers. They take one and go for the second. That is the longer boundary and hence, Smith takes on the arm. The throw comes to the keeper who whips the bails off and appeals but replays show that Smith is in.

19.41wd

WIDE! Another one from Adair! Well wide outside off. Left alone. Wided.

19.30

Not easy to hit those though. This is a yorker outside off. Smith looks to jam it out but misses.

19.26

SIX! That is massive, that is a massive, massive hit. 106 meters! This is a gift, a full toss on the pads. Smith feasts on such deliveries. He hammers it well over the mid-wicket fence for a biggie. Windies would love a couple more of these.

19.11

King misses out and he knows! He will be very disappointed! A full toss on the pads, King swings but misses. It hits the pad and rolls on the leg side. A leg bye taken.

Just the one! 10 from the 19th then! On off, another slower one. King drags it wide of the fielder at long on but only a single.

18.61wd

WIDE! Looks to keep it out of the hitting zone of King but ends up bowling it well wide outside off. King swings but misses. Wided. Will the extra ball cost Ireland?

18.50

Another dot! This is a brilliant comeback from Barry McCarthy after going for a biggie earlier on. Good change in length there. It is short and on middle, King looks to pull but misses. Can he end the over well now?

18.40

Swing and a miss! Shorter and outside off. King looks to slap it through the off side but this stays low. Misses.

18.36

SIX! Into the crowd! Windies getting a move on now. 8 from the first three balls! This is right in the slot. Full and on middle, it is heaved over the mid-wicket fence for a biggie.

18.20

Brilliant! Can't do a lot with that again! A yorker outside off. King looks to hit it down the ground but misses. Dots are gold.

18.12

Terrific in the field again! Desperation shown. Shorter and outside off, this is slapped through covers. The fielder moves to his right, dives and keeps it down to two.

SIX! That has been muscled! It is the longer part of the ground but cleared easily! Shorter and outside off, Smith stands tall and smashes it over the point fence for a biggie. It is the longer part of the ground but Smith does not care. Windies needed that and they need a few more. The last ball spoils what was a brilliant over till then.

17.51

Really good from Little again! On middle, King hits it down to long on and gets to the other end.

17.41

Just the one! On middle and on a length, this is hit down the ground but only one. The timing is missing again.

17.30

Another swing and a miss! A cutter, it lands on off and then moves away. Smith looks to go big but misses.

17.31wd

WIDE! A little harsh on the bowler there! Outside off, Odean Smith looks to smash it over cover but misses.

17.20

A good short one, Smith evades it.

16.40

On off, this is pushed to cover.

16.3W

OUT! TAKEN! Gareth Delany continues to impress with the ball. He has another wicket. On middle, the slog sweep comes out but Rovman Powell does not connect that well. It goes straight into the hands of the fielder at deep mid-wicket. Harry Tector makes no mistake. West Indies are losing their way.

We are all set. The players are out in the middle as they line up for their respective national anthems. It will be West Indies' first followed by Ireland's.

PITCH REPORT - Carlos Brathwaite is near the pitch. He says it's a different pitch. The batsman will target the leg side as it's short. Shares there are few cracks and the pitch looks dry. Expect spin to dominate the game.

Andy Balbirnie says this is a do-or-die but they have the momentum as they won the last game. Adds they will have to bowl well and restrict West Indies as slow as possible. Informs they are playing the same team.

Nicholas Pooran says they will bat first. Adds it is a fresh pitch. Tells they have the momentum and they know as a unit what to do. Reckons the straight boundaries are massive and they have to hit hard and in the gap. Informs Brandon King comes in and Shamarh Brooks misses out

Ireland (Unchanged Playing XI) - Paul Stirling, Andy Balbirnie (C), Lorcan Tucker (WK), Harry Tector, Curtis Campher, George Dockrell, Gareth Delany, Simi Singh, Mark Adair, Barry McCarthy, Josh Little.

West Indies (Playing XI) - Kyle Mayers, Johnson Charles, Evin Lewis, Brandon King (In for Shamarh Brooks), Nicholas Pooran (C/WK), Rovman Powell, Jason Holder, Akeal Hosein, Odean Smith, Alzarri Joseph, Obed McCoy.

TOSS - West Indies have won the toss and they will BAT first!

A win would guarantee a spot in the Super 12s. Both lost their first game but came back well by winning their respective games and to stay in the contention for the next round. Both the teams have their future in their hands. The equation is very simple - you win and go through. Toss and team news coming up…
