East Bengal FC: ‘মাস্টার বলেছিল রেফারি আমাদের হয়ে খেলাবে…’, বিস্ফোরক মন্তব্য প্রাক্তন ইস্টবেঙ্গল কোচ অস্কারের!

কলকাতা : তিনি ইস্টবেঙ্গলের ভারতসেরা কোচ। তাঁর বদান্যতায় ২৩ বছর পর জাতীয় পর্যায়ে কোনও ট্রফি পেয়েছিল লাল-হলুদ ব্রিগেড। কিন্তু লাল-হলুদে থাকাকালীন বারবার ঝামেলাতে জড়িয়েছেন তিনি অর্থাৎ প্রাক্তন লাল-হলুদ কোচ অস্কার ব্রুজো। তবে তিনি ইস্টবেঙ্গলের দায়িত্ব ছেড়ে দেওয়ার পরেও বিতর্ক থামেনি। এবার তিনি এমন এক অভিযোগ এনেছেন, যা নিয়ে উত্তপ্ত কলকাতা ময়দান। সোশাল মিডিয়াতে অস্কার জানিয়েছেন, ইস্টবেঙ্গল নাকি শেষ ম্যাচে রেফারি ম্যানেজ করেছিল। এই নিয়েই চলছে চাপানউতোর। সত্যজিৎ রায়ের বিখ্যাত চরিত্র লালমোহন গাঙ্গুলি সশরীরে থাকলে নির্ঘাত লিখতেন, ‘লালহলুদ সরগরম’।

এক্স হ্যান্ডলে অস্কার জানিয়েছেন, “দলের উন্নতির জন্য আমাকে মাস্টারকে সরিয়ে দিতে হয়েছে। এই মাস্টার বারবার দলের মধ্যে বিভেদ তৈরি করতে চাইছিলেন। তাঁর কাজ ছিল, খেলোয়াড়দের ও কোচিং স্টাফদের মনোবল নষ্ট করা। বারবার তিনি তাঁদের সমালোচনা করতেন, দলের অভ্যন্তরীণ বিষয়ে ঢুকতেন। সেই জন্যই দলকে বাঁচাতে আমাকে এই পদক্ষেপ নিতে হয়েছে। সিজনের শেষ ম্যাচের আগে মাস্টার দলের বেশ কিছু সদস্যকে জানান, রেফারি আমাদের হয়েই খেলাবেন। কিন্তু সেটা হয়নি। রেফারি নিরপেক্ষ ছিলেন।”

The “Master’s” Agenda

●Success was never in his interest. For the first time, the “Master” had no meaningful involvement in building the squad. A successful season would therefore have demonstrated that the Club could operate effectively without his influence over recruitment and sporting decisions.
●Emami recognised how much money had previously been wasted on player transactions and decided to professionalise the scouting and recruitment process. In my view, this directly threatened the existing system. The “Master” consistently appeared to support players connected to his own network, lobby and preferred brokers—particularly where those operations could reinforce his influence.
●This type of agenda is not unique to one club; it is a familiar pattern in poorly structured football organisations where recruitment lacks transparency and proper governance. The model depends on constantly rotating players through successive transfer windows: build up new signings, later discredit them when convenient, and then justify another cycle of recruitment. Expensive names and high-profile transactions can become more important than identifying players who genuinely improve the team. At the same time, professionals who arrive independently—outside the established network of preferred agents and brokers—can face criticism almost from the moment they enter the Club. The result is a system in which continuous player turnover becomes normalised while sporting performance and long-term squad building become secondary.
●Regaining control required the sporting project to fail. My assessment is that poor results would create the conditions for the “Master” to regain influence over player recruitment and transactions. Following my decision not to accept the renewal offer, we have seen him recover significant influence over those operations this season.
●The Ramadan scheduling raised serious questions. During Ramadan, our matches were scheduled at 3:00 p.m. despite having four players fasting. We knew that competing under those conditions could negatively affect their physical performance. Whether this was deliberate or not, it clearly worked against the sporting interests of the team.
●There was also pressure regarding the timing of the derby after the March FIFA window. At that stage, we had several injured players. My perception was that an early setback in the title race would create the ideal conditions for months of criticism, instability and chaos around the team.
●Information from inside the coaching staff was being leaked. Individuals placed within or around the staff were feeding internal information to media outlets aligned with the “Master.” Once we identified the sources of those leaks, they were removed from the relevant internal communication groups.
●After the draw against Kerala, when we conceded in the final minute, a protest demanding my dismissal was organised by people aligned with him. Rather than supporting the team through a difficult result, the situation was immediately used to generate public pressure against the coaching staff.
●I had to remove the “Master” from the dressing room on several occasions. He entered the dressing room to criticise players and members of the coaching staff, creating tension and undermining the working environment. I considered that unacceptable and intervened to protect the team.
●Before the final match of the season, the “Master” told several members of the staff that the referee would be on our side. That claim proved completely false. Anyone who watched the match could see that the referee conducted the game independently. The episode nevertheless illustrates the type of narrative and misinformation that was circulating internally.

প্রসঙ্গত, গত আইএসএলে গোলকিপার কোচ সন্দীপ নন্দীর বিরুদ্ধে চলে গিয়েছিলেন অস্কার। তাঁর মত ছিল, দলের ভেতরের কথা ফাঁস হয়ে যাচ্ছে। পোস্টেও সেই কথা উল্লেখ করেছেন অস্কার। তিনি জানিয়েছেন, “মোহনবাগান ঠিক পাশের ক্লাবেই অনুশীলন করাচ্ছিল কিন্তু ওদের কোনও কথা ফাঁস হয়নি। তবে আমাদের সব প্ল্যানিং বাইরের লোকেরা জেনে ফেলছিল। দলের সাফল্য কখনওই চাননি মাস্টার।” কেরালার বিরুদ্ধে ম্যাচ ড্র হওয়ার পর যে অস্কার ব্রুজোকে অপসারণের কথা উঠেছিল, তারও নেপথ্যে ছিলেন নাকি এই মাস্টার।

যদিও লাল-হলুদের শীর্ষকর্তা দেবব্রত সরকার এই বিষয়ে মুখ খুলে বলেছেন, “অস্কারের ইস্টবেঙ্গল ক্লাবে অস্তিত্ব কী? অস্কার আমাদের আইএসএল দিয়েছেন। অস্কার আমাদের নয়নের মণি। কিন্তু ওঁর বক্তব্য নিয়ে আমার কিছু বলার নেই। কাকে তিনি মাস্টার বলছেন, কাকে নিয়ে কী করেছেন, সেই বিষয়ে আমরা হস্তক্ষেপ করতে চাই না। অস্কার ব্রুজো জিন্দাবাদ।” সুতরাং লাল-হলুদ ছেড়ে দিলেও এখনও ক্লাব সম্বন্ধে যে ক্ষোভ যায়নি অস্কারের, তাই যেন একের পর এক সোশাল মিডিয়া পোস্টে বুঝিয়ে দিচ্ছেন তিনি।

যদিও এই মাস্টার কে, এই নিয়ে কিছুই খোলসা করে বলেননি অস্কার। তবে তিনি বারংবার নিজের পোস্টে এই মাস্টারের নাম উল্লেখ করেছেন। এরপর থেকেই সোশাল মিডিয়াতে ক্রীড়াপ্রেমীরা প্রশ্ন তুলছেন, তাহলে কি ইস্টবেঙ্গলের আইএসএল পাওয়াটা আগে থেকে ঠিক ছিল? তাহলে কি রেফারিকে ম্যানেজ করে ইস্টবেঙ্গলের পক্ষে খেলানোর জন্য ঠিক করা হয়েছিল? কিছু ক্রীড়াপ্রেমী এও মনে করেন, এই ভয়ঙ্কর অভিযোগ নিয়ে এক্ষুনি তদন্ত শুরু করা উচিত ফেডারেশনের। যদি তদন্তে লাল-হলুদ ক্লাবের সেই মাস্টার এবং অন্তর্বর্তী ম্যানেজমেন্ট দোষী সাব্যস্ত হন, তাহলে কি ইস্টবেঙ্গলের আইএসএল ট্রফি নিয়ে নেওয়া হবে? এমন প্রশ্ন করতে দেখা যাচ্ছে অনেককে। তবে এই বিতর্ক যে আচমকাই কলকাতা ময়দানকে উত্তপ্ত করে দিয়েছে তা বলাই বাহুল্য।
