Jaker Ali is a talented Bangladeshi cricketer who has steadily made a name for himself in both domestic and international cricket. A right-handed wicketkeeper-batter, Ali is often regarded as a potential successor to the legendary Mushfiqur Rahim. Known for his composure and finishing abilities, he has shown immense promise since making his first-class debut in 2016 for Sylhet Division, where he impressed with a remarkable 88 in his very first innings.

Ali's journey in cricket began on the global stage as a member of Bangladesh's squad for the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. The following year, he transitioned to List A cricket, debuting for Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club with a fine half-century. His consistent domestic performances earned him a spot in the Sylhet squad for the Bangladesh T20 League in the 2018–19 season, after which he switched to Dhaka the next year.

In 2023, Ali truly came into his own, representing Comilla and delivering a breakthrough season with 175 runs in 14 matches at an impressive strike rate, primarily as a finisher. His contributions were instrumental in helping his team lift the trophy. He followed this up with another stellar season, boasting an average of over 90, although his team fell just short of the title.

Ali's domestic heroics caught the attention of the national selectors, leading to his T20I debut for Bangladesh during the 2024 Asian Games, where he played against Malaysia and helped secure a Bronze Medal for his team. Soon after, he became a regular feature in Bangladesh's T20I setup, notching his maiden T20I fifty against Sri Lanka.

With his talent and determination, Jaker Ali earned a coveted spot in Bangladesh's squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup. Later that year, he got his maiden Test cap in the home series against South Africa and marked the occasion with a half-century in the second innings. Ali also made his ODI debut in the same year against Afghanistan.
