Sharp with the gloves and remarkably crisp with the bat, Saad Baig represents a modern breed of Pakistani wicketkeeper-batter whose game combines grit with youthful fearlessness. Born on 1 November 2006 in Karachi, he rose rapidly through the city's fertile cricket academies, supported by a strong domestic sporting background.

Even as a young teenager, his awareness and natural calm stood out, making him a dependable presence behind the stumps and an authoritative stroke-maker capable of dictating terms. His international journey began at the youth level, earning selection for the Pakistan Under-19 team in 2022 shortly after turning sixteen against Bangladesh Under-19. Recognizing his leadership credentials, the selectors named him captain of the national under-19 side for the 2023 ACC Men's Under-19 Asia Cup. Baig went on to captain Pakistan at the 2024 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup in South Africa, earning widespread praise for his astute field placements, tidy glovework, and a resolute half-century against Afghanistan Under-19 in the opening game.

Transitioning from junior cricket to the senior ranks went seamlessly for the young wicketkeeper. He made his senior domestic debut in 2024 for Karachi, adapting quickly to senior bowling attacks and proving his temperament. His electric reflexes and clean striking in the shortest format caught the attention of franchise scouts, leading to his selection by Karachi Kings for the Pakistan Super League. In domestic white-ball fixtures, Baig consistently demonstrated his ability to counter-attack under pressure, proving that his game was well-suited for fast-paced modern cricket.

The 2025-26 season proved to be a historic breakthrough in first-class cricket for Baig. Playing for Karachi Blues in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, he notched his maiden first-class century in October 2025 with an authoritative 154 against Multan, following it up with an unbeaten 65 in the second innings.

He led Karachi Blues to the championship title while compiling 1,000 runs and claiming 32 dismissals behind the stumps across ten games. His extraordinary campaign saw him sweep the season's awards for Player of the Tournament, Best Batter, and Best Wicketkeeper. Heading into 2026, Baig continued to enhance his reputation with Karachi Kings in the PSL and across the senior domestic circuit.
