Pakistan fight through as drama builds - Pakistan handled that session well, with Abdullah Fazal and Azan Awais laying a solid platform through a 54-run opening stand before Bangladesh struck back. Shan Masood failed to make any impact, undone by a superb delivery from Nahid Rana, but Fazal continued to impress with another composed fifty, despite surviving a huge scare when Mehidy Hasan Miraz rattled his stumps only for the bails to stay put. Fazal and Salman Agha then calmly guided Pakistan through the remainder of the session, trimming the target down to 152 runs. However, there was some concern right at the end as Fazal looked uncomfortable physically, and his availability for the final session could prove crucial. Bangladesh and Pakistan trade blows - Pakistan will be pleased with how they controlled that session, with Hasan Ali and Shaheen Afridi striking early before Noman Ali finally removed the stubborn Najmul Hossain Shanto, triggering a collapse of 3 wickets for just 24 runs. Bangladesh then declared unexpectedly, leaving Pakistan a tricky period before Lunch, and the hosts responded instantly as Taskin Ahmed removed Imam-ul-Haq in the very first over. Mehidy Hasan Miraz also extracted sharp turn and bounce straight away, and with his outstanding fourth-innings record at home, he could prove decisive in what is shaping into a thrilling finish. UPDATE - 9.30 am GMT - The inspection is underway and the super-soppers are out in force. The Pakistani players are geared up and waiting for the official signal to take the field. We are not far from a restart.

UPDATE - 8.58 am GMT - The ground staff have done extremely well to get the puddles off the ground and clear the waterlogging. Another inspection has been scheduled for 9.30 am GMT. The sun is finally shining bright and things are looking positive for a resumption.

UPDATE - 8.46 am GMT - A lot of ground activity can be seen, folks, which is a promising sign leading up to the resumption of play. Grundstaff is busy removing the covers and clearing the water puddles at the moment. The umpires are having an inspection as well.

UPDATE - 8.14 am GMT - Although the rain has finally eased off and the skies have brightened, the sheer intensity of the downpour has left the Mirpur outfield heavily waterlogged. Live visuals reveal significant standing water across the entire park, indicating that the ground staff faces a monumental task. It will likely take a considerable amount of time for the drainage and cleanup crews to clear the puddles and ensure the surface is safe enough for play to eventually resume.

UPDATE - 7.29 am GMT - It's absolutely hammering down in Mirpur and the ground is filled with water puddles. With no sign of the weather clearing, we can pretty much write off any play for this session at least, but our fingers are crossed.

UPDATE - 6.53 am GMT - More covers are being brought in to cover the pitch and the live visuals clearly show that even a downpour has started in Mirpur. It looks like we are in for a prolonged delay, as things are not looking promising. Pakistan wouldn't mind this delay as they are not in a position to dictate terms but this delay will surely put even more uncertainty in the thought process of the home side on playing at the slow tempo or upping the ante and pushing for a result. Let's see what awaits us all as we keep waiting for the forecast to get better.

UPDATE - 6.45 am GMT - We should have resumed play post-Lunch by now but the news coming in is not a promising one as the covers have been placed out in the middle. It is not raining at the moment but it has really gone a lot darker that it was before the break.

Looking ahead to the second session - The pitch is definitely starting to play tricks, with the ball misbehaving and doing a bit off the surface. Surprisingly, Pakistan skipper Shan Masood has not used his left-arm spinner, Noman Ali, at all this morning. So, can Bangladesh continue to dominate? Or will Pakistan pick some early wickets in the second session? We will be back shortly at 6.40 am GMT to find out if Pakistan can find a way to break this stubborn partnership!

Luck favored the brave duo - The experienced pair of Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mominul Haque have anchored the innings, though they certainly had some luck on their side today. Mominul survived a massive scare when he edged Salman Agha as the ball bounced off Mohammad Rizwan’s thigh and fell just short of the slip fielder. Both batters played a few risky, aerial shots that landed safely in the gaps, and Shanto even survived a very tight run-out chance as well to keep the Pakistani bowlers frustrated.

Bangladesh steady at Lunch - What a fascinating morning session we've had here on Day 4. Bangladesh head into the lunch break at 93 for 2, sitting comfortably with a lead of 120 runs. The Pakistan bowlers came out firing and grabbed two quick wickets in the first hour to put the hosts under pressure. However, Bangladesh slowly shifted the momentum back in their favor as the session went on.
