Onto the shortest format - It's all smiles as Richard Ngarava goes on to pick up the series win trophy and joins his teammates in celebration. Righto, with hosts Zimbabwe sealing the ODI series as well after getting the win in the One-off Test, it is now time to move on to the final leg of this tour. The caravan now moves south to Bulawayo for the three-match T20I series between Zimbabwe and Bangladesh, beginning on Wednesday, July 15. The first T20I will start at 10.30 am GMT, but as usual, you can tune in to our build-up a lot sooner. Until then, take care and goodbye!

The skipper of Zimbabwe - Richard Ngarava starts by saying that it is important to start on a high note and is happy with how the series has gone thus far. He adds that they have the experienced players, but when the youngsters do well, it is a great feeling. On achieving their goals, he says that they didn't quite get close to that blueprint and still managed to win, which is also good. Mentions that in the matches they won, they managed to cover 2 departments well and they haven't quite managed to cover all 3 departments well in a single match, but hopes that it will happen soon. He ends by talking a bit about Brad Evans's batting and jokes a bit that the doctors are always giving him a shoulder rub, so that he is ready to swing his arms.

The captain of Bangladesh - Mehidy Hasan Miraz praises his side for putting in a strong performance from the outset, crediting Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam for leading the way with the ball. He says the victory would boost the team's confidence and provide valuable momentum going forward. Reflecting on the conditions, Miraz describes the pitch as a tricky one that offered plenty of assistance to the bowlers. He also highlights the fast bowlers for taking responsibility, saying they consistently set the tone by picking up crucial wickets. Miraz also lauds the opening partnership, singling out Tanzid Hasan and Soumya Sarkar for their excellent stand at the top of the order. He concluded by saying the team had learned a great deal from the series and expressed hope that they would carry those lessons into future matches.

Player of the Series - Brad Evans is given the award for his all-round performance of 111 runs, 5 wickets, and 3 catches throughout the series. Evans says that this loss is a tough one to swallow, as they wanted to win 3-0, and a bit disappointing for the crowd as well. He adds that he's worked hard with the coaching staff, and he is really happy to reap the rewards as well. Evans further adds that he wasn't confident with the bat, but before the 2nd ODI, he had a chat with the coach, and that helped. Ends by saying that they had a successful T20 World Cup and they are looking forward to the upcoming T20I series.

Player of the Match - Tanzid Hasan is given the accolade for his fine knock of 94. Tanzid says that he is happy with the team's effort. Adds that the wicket was good for batting. Tells that, in the previous game, it had a bit more bounce, but today it played much more evenly. Mentions that Zimbabwe bowled really well, so building a big partnership was crucial for them. His plan was to play each ball on its merit. Adds that this win gives them confidence heading into the T20I series, and hopefully they can carry that momentum forward with even better performances.

The presentation ceremony...

Testing their bench strength - After sealing the ODI series with a game to go, Zimbabwe opted to rest both their frontline seamers. However, their struggles with the bat were once again on display as they were reduced to 27/3. Wessly Madhevere led the fightback with a solid 75, and Brad Evans played another fine knock to take Zimbabwe to a total of 199. Another low total to defend, but this time, the bowlers didn't start well. There were a few dropped catches which didn't help either, and when the wickets did come, the match was all but over by then.

Backing up the bowlers - In all three ODI matches on this tour, Bangladesh have opted to bowl first, and their bowlers have set up the game nicely. Early wickets from the pacers gave them the upper hand, and after a bit of resilience from the hosts, they did manage to bowl them out for 199. With the bat, Bangladesh finally managed to step up, and the openers put in their first 100-plus run stand after 9 ODIs. Tanzid Hasan was the aggressor from the start, but Soumya Sarkar played a few eye-catching shots after getting set. Sarkar did fall on 69, but there was a 100 for the taking for Hasan. With 3 needed to win and Hasan on 94, he went for the big hit and got out and Bangladesh lost another wicket. However, the damage was done and Bangladesh managed to win with 14 overs to spare.

Bangladesh get on the board - Three overs too late in the end, but Bangladesh finally manage to put in a strong performance with the bat, and they avoid the whitewash. Tanzid Hasan leads them to a rollicking win, but Zimbabwe do seal the ODI series 2-1.

Commentary

We are back for the chase. The umpires are back out in the middle and so are the players of Zimbabwe. It will be the duo of Soumya Sarkar and Tanzid Hasan to open the innings for Bangladesh. Brad Evans will get proceedings underway with the new ball. Let's go...

... The Run Chase ...

Bangladesh face a measured chase - Set a target of 200, Bangladesh will need a composed and sensible batting effort to finish the ODI series on a positive note. Can they chase it down and salvage some pride, or will Zimbabwe draw confidence from their late batting flourish and defend this modest total to complete a series whitewash? We'll find out shortly. Join us in a bit for the second essay.

A quick word - Wessly Madhevere says that the pitch and the season they are in all contribute to a wicket that is difficult to start on, and there's no room to take anything for granted. On his knock, he says that his game plan is to keep rotating the strike, and he is someone who looks to absorb the pressure and reverse it onto the bowlers. On the total on the board, he says that defending the total is quite possible given how the wicket has played.

Bangladesh impress with the ball - Bangladesh produced another disciplined bowling performance, but the game slipped away after the halfway stage. Shoriful Islam starred with four wickets, leading the attack brilliantly, while Taskin Ahmed, Tanvir Islam, and Mohammad Saifuddin chipped in with crucial breakthroughs to complete an impressive all-round effort. Although the visitors would have preferred to restrict Zimbabwe to an even lower total, they can take plenty of positives from a strong display with the ball.

Lower order lifts hosts to 199 - Zimbabwe's lower order produced a spirited fightback to propel the hosts to a competitive 199 after a shaky start. Opting to bat first, Zimbabwe endured a difficult opening, struggling for momentum and losing three key wickets inside the first 15 overs. Innocent Kaia and Wessly Madhevere briefly steadied the innings with a 50-run partnership before Kaia fell for a hard-fought 25. The middle order failed to build on that foundation, with Sikandar Raza and Clive Madande departing cheaply. Madhevere stood tall amid the collapse, compiling a composed 75 to hold the innings together and emerge as Zimbabwe's standout batter. He then found valuable support from the lower order, as Brad Evans struck a brisk half-century and the tail chipped in with crucial runs to lift Zimbabwe to the brink of the 200-run mark.

48.1W

OUT! CAUGHT! Done and dusted, Mohammad Saifuddin closes out proceedings by picking up his first wicket of the game. Zimbabwe are bowled out for 199. Saifuddin bowls a heavy length ball, over the off stump. Ernest Masuku hangs back and swings across the line but gets rushed and splices it straight to mid off. Mehidy Hasan Miraz gobbles up an easy chance and that's the end of the first innings.

47.40

A straight yorker now, Chivanga does well to keep it out.

47.30

Good-length delivery, from around the wicket, targeting the top of off. Tanaka Chivanga blocks it off.

Tanaka Chivanga is the last man in for Zimbabwe.

Evans is rushed as he tries to drag the pull and gets a top edge that flies over square leg. Tanvir Islam charges in from the deep and takes a fine catch. End of another fine knock from Evans.

47.10

Shoriful hits the shorter length, bowling it over middle. Brad Evans shuffles to the off side, trying to lap it over the keeper but misses.

We are all set for the game to begin. The umpires are out in the middle and so are the players of Bangladesh. It will be the duo of Brian Bennett and Ben Curran to open the innings for Zimbabwe. Taskin Ahmed has the new ball in hand and is raring to go. Let's play...

Bangladesh (Playing XI) - Tanzid Hasan, Soumya Sarkar, Towhid Hridoy, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Nurul Hasan (WK), Mehidy Hasan Miraz (C), Mosaddek Hossain, Tanvir Islam (In for Rishad Hossain), Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, and Mohammad Saifuddin (In for Nahid Rana).

Zimbabwe (Playing XI) - Ben Curran, Brian Bennett, Innocent Kaia, Craig Ervine, Sikandar Raza (C), Wessly Madhevere, Clive Madande (WK), Brad Evans, Wellington Masakadza (In for Newman Nyamhuri), Ernest Masuku (In for Richard Ngarava), and Tanaka Chivanga (In for Blessing Muzarabani).

The skipper of Zimbabwe - Sikandar Raza says that Richard Ngarava is fine, and it's about their policy to rotate the players, and they have rested a few of the players today. Adds that the culture in the dressing room is adding to the team's performance, and it is a good opportunity to close out the series on a high. Reckons that things will be tricky at the start, but the batters did improve in the 2nd ODI and hopes that there will be further improvement today. Ends by informing that Newman Nyamhuri is injured and they have also rested Blessing Muzarabani, with a couple of different seamers and Wellington Masakadza coming in as replacements.

The captain of Bangladesh - Mehidy Hasan Miraz wins the toss and elects to bowl first. He admits the team was disappointed with its performances in the first two matches but sees this as an opportunity for a fresh start. Miraz says the side made a few mistakes and is determined to learn from them. He emphasizes the need for solid partnerships, acknowledging that Bangladesh's batting has fallen short in the opening two games, and hopes the team can put that right today. He also confirms two changes to the playing XI, with Rishad Hossain and Nahid Rana making way for Tanvir Islam and Mohammad Saifuddin.

TOSS - Toss time in Harare. Sikandar Raza is the captain for Zimbabwe today. Raza flips the coin, and Mehidy Hasan Miraz calls correctly. Bangladesh will BOWL first.

Bangladesh seek consolation victory - Bangladesh, meanwhile, have let promising positions slip away in both matches, falling short in two closely contested encounters. Towhid Hridoy, Nurul Hasan, and Tanzid Hasan have all made useful contributions with the bat, but the visitors have lacked the big innings needed to seize control. On the bowling front, Nahid Rana has been the standout performer, receiving solid support from Taskin Ahmed and Mehidy Hasan Miraz. Bangladesh will now be determined to put together a complete performance and avoid a series whitewash. Can Zimbabwe complete a memorable 3-0 sweep, or will Bangladesh finish the ODI series with a consolation win? Toss and team news coming up shortly. Stay tuned.

Zimbabwe’s all-round resilience - Despite finding themselves under pressure in both ODIs, Zimbabwe have shown remarkable composure to fight back and emerge victorious. Ben Curran, Brad Evans, and Sikandar Raza have led the way with the bat, while valuable lower-order contributions have proved equally crucial. With the ball, Richard Ngarava, Blessing Muzarabani, Newman Nyamhuri, and Evans have delivered at key moments, consistently striking to derail Bangladesh's batting. The Chevrons will be looking to produce another disciplined all-round performance as they chase a clean sweep.

Zimbabwe eye whitewash - Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the third and final ODI between Zimbabwe and Bangladesh at the Harare Sports Club in Harare. Zimbabwe have been the dominant side throughout the tour, winning the one-off Test and the first two ODIs to clinch the series. With momentum firmly on their side, the hosts will now be aiming to complete a 3-0 whitewash, while Bangladesh will be desperate to salvage some pride by registering their first victory of the tour.

... MATCH DAY ...

Series finale - The three-format contest between Zimbabwe and Bangladesh has arrived at its concluding chapter of the ODI leg, and what a chapter it has been for the hosts. It is filled with history and ecstasy. Zimbabwe stunned the visitors in the one-off Test and then made it clear that the result was no accident by carrying that same dominance into the ODIs, going 2-0 up in a manner that left little room for argument. Now, in the third and final ODI, the Chevrons stand one win away from a complete whitewash of Bangladesh, a feat that would mark their first clean sweep of a major Test-playing nation in 25 years. The last time it happened was back in 2001, when Zimbabwe swept the same opponents both at home and away. For Bangladesh, the story reads very differently. Their streak of four ODI series wins has been snapped, and the manner of the defeat has opened up uncomfortable questions about how they fare once they step outside home comfort. This marks their first ODI series loss in 2026, with the last such defeat coming at the hands of Afghanistan in the UAE. Too hot to handle - The Chevrons just kept coming back at Bangladesh. Match after match, a different face has stood up to be counted across both the batting and bowling departments. The first ODI saw the pacers combine beautifully to defend a modest total of 141, doing so with real authority. The second threw up a much better batting display, headlined by Ben Curran's brilliant 111 and backed by some crucial runs from the lower order. Yet through both contests, it is Zimbabwe's bowling attack that has given Bangladesh no way out, bundling them out on both occasions with the new ball quartet setting the tempo right from the start. And at the heart of it all has been captain Richard Ngarava, whose first assignment as full-time skipper has gone about as well as it possibly could. He has got the support from his pace mates Blessing Muzarabani, Brad Evans and Newman Nyamhuri has been the find for them so far. Yet it would be unfair to ignore the cracks in the batting unit. The likes of Brian Bennett and senior pro Craig Ervine are yet to leave any real mark with the bat this series, and the recurring batting slide remains a genuine worry. In the first game, wickets kept tumbling in a heap before the lower order stepped in to bail them out, and in the second, they slipped to 66/4, with the top order (barring Ben Curran) once again failing to provide the early impetus needed. On the bigger picture, Raza noted that a winning culture has reshaped the mindset within the group after yet another come-from-behind victory over Bangladesh, with an eye already on the 2027 home World Cup and their WTC aspirations. That road will throw up a completely different kind of test, but going by their run to the Super Eights of the 2026 T20 World Cup, Zimbabwe have every reason to dream as big as they want to from here. A serious need for introspection - What makes it more painful for Bangladesh is that their bowling has not been the letdown, but has been overshadowed by some lackadaisical batting approach. Nahid Rana produced the best figures by a Bangladesh bowler in ODI cricket with his six-wicket haul in the opener, with Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed chipping in as well, but both efforts have gone in vain given how little support they have received with the bat. From Bangladesh's point of view, both chases should never have gotten as tricky as they did. There were phases in both games where they looked firmly in control, with Hridoy and Nurul Hasan steadying things through the middle overs in the first ODI, and the same duo carrying forward the good work done by an 84-run stand between Tanzid and Hridoy in the second. But their habit of losing wickets in clusters, and doing so at the most inopportune moments, kept handing Zimbabwe a way back into games that should have been theirs. And eventually, it was Bangladesh who cracked under that pressure while Zimbabwe held firm. The bigger challenge for Bangladesh through this tour has been adapting to these conditions. It was exposed first in the one-off Test and has resurfaced right through the ODI series as well. The variable bounce on offer at the Harare tracks has proved to be a real nemesis for their batters, and that has been compounded further by some questionable shot selections that have done the ultimate damage. Heading into the final ODI, Bangladesh would want these issues sorted out once and for all, and they will be aiming for a much more collective performance across the board this time around. Team form (Last 5 completed ODIs, recent first) - ZIM - WWLLW | BAN - LLLWW. What to expect? Zimbabwe will walk into the finale with nothing to lose and everything to gain, and that freedom could make them an even tougher proposition on a surface that has already shown plenty of life for the pacers. For Bangladesh, this is as much about pride as it is about answers. Avoiding an ODI series whitewash against Zimbabwe would be a deeply humbling marker for Mehidy Hasan Miraz's side, and simply steering clear of that indignity remains the immediate motivation heading into the finale. Before the camp shifts to Bulawayo for the third and final leg with the T20Is on the horizon, Bangladesh would want to make that transition on a positive note.
