Earlier in the game, Bangladesh were off to a sloppy start with a couple of wicket maidens and the side being pinned back after being 3 down for just 15. Mahmudullah and Najmul Hossain Shanto played well to negate the threat of a below-par total on board. Shakib Al Hasan played a good hand as well but it was a quick-fire cameo from Jaker Ali that helped the side get past 150. Bowling from Zimbabwe was top-notch for the majority of the game with Blessing Muzarabani and Brian Bennett being the best bowlers by picking up a couple each.

Bowling from Bangladesh wasn't good as the bowlers leaked runs all around the park. The track got better to bat on as the game progressed and the bowlers had no assistance from the surface. Shakib Al Hasan and Mohammad Saifuddin took a wicket each and nothing more happened in favor of them. Bangladesh will be happy with the overall result of the series but will need to address a few areas before flying for the mega event.

Chasing down a tricky total on this track, Zimbabwe were off to a flying start thanks to a brilliant display of counterattack by Brian Bennett. Sikandar Raza took his time in the beginning and then exploded on the Bangladesh bowlers. Brian Bennett and Sikandar Raza added a crucial 75 for the second wicket. After the dismissal of Brian Bennett it was Raza along with Johnathan Campbell, finishing the game with a partnership of 45 in just 20 deliveries. Brian Bennett played a solid knock of 70. Sikandar Raza played a captain's knock and was unbeaten on 72 despite not being fully fit physically. Zimbabwe will be pleased to end the tour on a high.

Zimbabwe finally shows up and wins this game by 8 wickets and stops Bangladesh from inflicting a series sweep on them.

Commentary

Welcome back for the run-chase. The players and umpires return to the ground. Brian Bennett and Tadiwanashe Marumani will open for Zimbabwe. It will Mahedi Hasan to start with the ball for Bangladesh. Let's go...

... The Run Chase ...

Blessing Muzarabani is in for a chat. He says that the wicket has bounced and the bowlers are getting credit for bowling good deliveries. Adds that It’s been going well for him and he is working hard every day. Ends by sharing that he is trying to execute well in the death and wants to do well for his side.

The bowling from Zimbabwe was spot on as they were good to start with and were even better to close the game. The side did leak a bit in the middle phase but they were good throughout the game. Blessing Muzarabani and Brian Bennett took a couple each while Luke Jongwe and Wellington Masakadza took one each as well. The pitch has a lot to offer to the spinners and those who will vary their pace. The target looks a tricky one and it will be a test for the Zimbabwean batters on how they are going to counter it. We will be back with the chase in a while.

After being asked to bat first, Bangladesh started poorly and were strangled at 15 for 3 after 4.1 overs and were short of ideas. Mahmudullah then walked out with positive intent and took the attack to the bowlers of Zimbabwe. Mahedi Hasan along with skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto added 69 for the fourth wicket partnership and got things going in favor of Bangladesh in the middle phase of the game. After the dismissal of Najmul Hossain Shanto it was Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah who ensured that the team didn't collapse as they worked the ball around for a while before perishing. Jaker Ali finished the game well with a quick-fire 24 off 11. Mahmudullah scored 54 and was the top scorer for the side while Shakib Al Hasan and Najmul Hossain Shanto got starts but they couldn't convert them into big one.

A brilliant bowling performance from Zimbabwe restricts Bangladesh to 157 in the final game of this T20I series.

We are done with the pre-match formalities and the live action is moments away. The players and umpires make their way to the ground. Tanzid Hasan and Soumya Sarkar will open for Bangladesh. The Zimbabwe skipper, Sikandar Raza will start with the ball.  Let's play...

Najmul Hossain Shanto, the Bangladesh skipper says that it looks like a good wicket and they are happy to bat first. Adds that they did not bat well in the previous game. Shares that the wicket is on the drier side and might assist the spinners. Ends by informing the team changes with Mohammad Saifuddin, Mahmudullah, and Mahedi Hasan coming in the side.

Sikandar Raza, the Zimbabwe skipper says they are looking to bowl first as the wicket looks helpful for the bowlers early on and they could make early inroads. Adds that they failed to Win the previous game but will go for the win again.

Pitch Report - The experts reckon that there will be some assistance for the pacers early on as the pitch is under the covers overnight, with the spinners coming into the game later as the wicket is on the drier side. Adds that 150 might be a par score and playing straight will be the key.

Zimbabwe (Playing XI) - Tadiwanashe Marumani, Brian Bennett, Sikandar Raza(C), Johnathan Campbell, Sean Williams (in place of Richard Ngarava), Clive Madande(WK), Ryan Burl, Luke Jongwe, Faraz Akram, Wellington Masakadza, Blessing Muzarabani.

Bangladesh (Playing XI) - Tanzid Hasan, Soumya Sarkar, Towhid Hridoy, Najmul Hossain Shanto(C), Shakib Al Hasan, Jaker Ali(WK), Mahmudullah (in place of Tanvir Islam), Mahedi Hasan (in place of Tanzim Hasan Sakib), Rishad Hossain, Mustafizur Rahman, Mohammad Saifuddin (in place of Taskin Ahmed).

TOSS - Zimbabwe have won the coin toss and opted to BOWL first.

Zimbabwe, on the flip side, have shown glimpses in a few matches but hasn't been able to cross the finish line. In the fourth T20I of the series, their bowlers reduced Bangladesh from 101 for none to 143 all out. Luke Jongwe, Richard Ngarava, and Brian Bennett did the bulk of the damage. The batting, however, failed again and the visitors were dismissed for 138, falling short by 5 runs. Johnathan Campbell and Clive Madande have been good with the bat but their experienced trio of Sean Williams, Sikandar Raza, and Craig Ervine have disappointed. Zimbabwe will look to salvage some pride and end the tour on a high with a win. Let's see who comes on top in this contest. Toss and team news in a bit. Stay tuned!

Hello and a warm welcome to our coverage of the 5th and final T20I of the series between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe from Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. Bangladesh have been utterly dominant in the series and won all four games so far. They will be hoping to make a clean sweep and remain unbeaten. The likes of Tanzid Hasan and Towhid Hridoy have done the bulk of the scoring while Taskin Ahmed and Mohammad Saifuddin have been the key wicket-takers. The home side will hope for the other players to turn up and make it 5-0 in front of their home fans.

...MATCHDAY...

Bangladesh have dismantled Zimbabwe in this 5-match T20I series as they lead this by 4 games to nil and would be eyeing a series sweep as they take on Zimbabwe in the 5th and final T20I game of this series. The visitors were not even offering a fight in the first two games but they have improved a lot in the previous couple of games and have lost those by close margins. Sikandar Raza has failed to lead from the front as he has not performed as expected of him with either bat or ball. The positive for Zimbabwe has been the way Johnathan Campbell has batted along with the all-around abilities of Faraz Akram. Brian Bennett has also played well in bits and pieces but the rest of the lot have failed to stand up and take responsibility with the bat. The side would be aiming to win the final game and take some pride back home. The hosts, Bangladesh have had a perfect series with the batters performing up to the mark and the bowlers complimenting them perfectly. The addition of Shakib Al Hasan, Mustafizur Rahman and Soumya Sarkar have strengthened the team even more. The way Tanzid Hasan is batting at the top is a big positive for the hosts ahead of the team selection for the ICC T20 Cricket World Cup. The bowlers have been doing well and the way Shakib Al Hasan won the game for the side in the previous game was a treat for every Bangladeshi fan. The side would be eyeing winning the final game of this series as well and marking their dominance on Zimbabwe by inflicting a clean sweep. Can Zimbabwe stop the hosts from sweeping the series? We shall find out as these sides collide in the 5th and final T20I of this series.
