Nurpur is constituency number six of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly. It is one of the fifteen Assembly seats of Himachal's Kangra district apart from Indora, Fatehpur, Jawali, Dehra, Jaswan-Pragpur, Jawalamukhi, Jaisinghpur, Sullah, Nagrota, Kangra, Shahpur, Dharamshala, Palampur and Baijnath. It is one of the seventeen Assembly seats that make up the Kangra Lok Sabha constituency. The Nurpur Assembly constituency is a general seat, i.e. it is not reserved for Scheduled Castes (SCs) or Scheduled Tribes (STs).
