Sujanpur is constituency number thirty-seven of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly. It is one of the five Assembly seats of Himachal's Hamirpur district apart from Bhoranj, Hamirpur, Barsar and Nadaun. It is one of the seventeen Assembly seats that make up the Hamirpur Lok Sabha constituency. The Sujanpur Assembly constituency is a general seat, i.e. it is not reserved for Scheduled Castes (SCs) or Scheduled Tribes (STs). In 2017, Congress candidate Rajinder Singh Rana defeated BJP's CM candidate Prem Kumar Dhumal by 1,919 votes. In 2022, Rana is facing BJP's Ranjeet Singh Rana, AAP's Anil Rana and BSP's Gian Chand.
