After the disappointing World Cup, it was important for the Englishmen to step up and they showed more character in the second match. Hello and welcome to the third and final ODI between the Windies and England. The series is squared up right now as England made a strong comeback in the second match. England are the favourites to seal the series but the home team would love to put an upset on England’s shoulder.

It is now time for the 3rd and final ODI between West Indies and England at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados. The series is deadlocked at 1-1 and with this match marking the end of ODI cricket for sides in 2023, both teams will be looking forward to winning the game and take the series victory as well. West Indies put on a fine display with the bat in the first ODI thanks to a stellar ton by skipper Shai Hope and his form continued in the second ODI as well. Sherfane Rutherford too played a very solid knock but the rest of the batting fell apart as the hosts were bundled out for a little 200 runs. It has been a long time since West Indies have won a bilateral series against a full-member cricketing nation and if they manage to pull off the win in the final match, it will also be their first ODI series win against England in the last 16 years. But in order to do so, they need to tidy up in all departments as the bowling hasn't quite fired on a consistent basis either. Coming to England now and this is not just their last ODI for 2023 but they don't play this format again in the next 9-10 months which might be a relief given their abysmal showing in the ICC Cricket World Cup just a month or so back. They failed to defend a big score in the first game and the inexperience in the bowling attack was visible. However, in the second game, their bowlers did manage to put their hand up and Rehan Ahmed was the one who shone through. The batting has been decent thus far but they do tend to lose wickets in a heap and it will also be interesting to see if Jos Buttler can build on his knock from the previous game or not. All in all, the stage is set for a mouth-watering clash between two sides who seem likely to be lagging in this format of the game. Which side are you backing to clinch the series?
