Right then, that is it from the series! Charith Asalanka's masterclass in the first game and then the home side went bang bang in the second one to level the series. The two sides will face each other in the 50-over format in the three-match series. The first one will be on Wednesday, the 13th of March, at 1.30 pm IST (8 am GMT). We would love your company for that game. Until then, cheers and goodbye!

Wanindu Hasaranga the skipper of Sri Lanka says that the boys played really well throughout. Adds that he is happy that he could perform and Nuwan Thushara was excellent. Adds that winning this gives them confidence for the upcoming World Cup.

Kusal Mendis is the PLAYER OF THE SERIES for his 181 runs in the 3 games. He says it was two-paced early on and after 6 overs it was manageable. Adds that Kamindu Mendis and Wanindu Hasaranga played well in the middle and made it easier. Mentions that bowlers did a great job.

Credits Nuwan Thushara for the kind of bowling he did and mentions they will have to play better in the first 6 overs. Adds that they played good cricket in all the 3 games and Rishad Hossain and Taskin Ahmed performed well for them. Concludes that they will take a lot of confidence from this series into the ODI's.

Stay tuned for the Presentations...

Earlier in the game, Sri Lanka opted to bat first and lost early wickets but recovered well with a solid partnership between Kusal Mendis and Wanindu Hasaranga. Mendis played aggressively to score a fifty and continued to dominate, reaching 86 runs before falling out to Taskin Ahmed. Despite some failures in the middle order, Dasun Shanaka's quick cameo helped Sri Lanka reach a competitive total of over 170 runs. The Bangladesh bowlers, led by Rishad Hossain and Taskin Ahmed, picked up crucial wickets, with Shoriful Islam and Mustafizur Rahman also contributing with a wicket each.

Well, well, the Lankan bowlers spat fire from the very first ball. They never let the Bangladesh batters settle into the game. Dhananjaya de Silva drew the first blood for the Lankans in his very first delivery, who came in as a replacement for the injured Angelo Mathews. Nuwan Thushara, though, was the star of the show, picking up a hat-trick in his first over, which was a maiden as well. They had a slight hiccup with dismissing Rishad Hossain, but once that was done, they got the game back under their control. Nuwan Thushara ended up with a five-fer. The skipper, Wanindu Hasaranga picked up two while Dasun Shanaka, Maheesh Theekshana, and Dhananjaya de Silva chipped in with one.

Chasing 175 was never going to be an easy task but Sri Lanka made it even worse for the home side. Bangladesh were under the pump from the word go. None of their batters were able to find their groove at the start and were dealt with some massive damage. Rishad Hossain and Taskin Ahmed showed intent and played a brilliant knock but they couldn't recover from the damage done to them earlier. Taskin Ahmed scored 31 off 21 while Rishad Hossain smashed 7 sixes on his way to 53. He missed one off Theekshana and with his wicket, the visitors took control of the series. Nevertheless, the side will surely take the lessons from this enthralling series back.

What a thrilling game! Sri Lanka dominates the series decider away from home and will keep their hands on the trophy here. Bangladesh, courtesy of a brilliant half-ton from Rishad Hossain and Taskin Ahmed's quickfire cameo, did present some fight after a very poor start. However, once Rishad Hossain departed, things were beyond the reach of the home side.

Commentary

We are back for the chase. The umpires are out in the middle. Sri Lanka are seen in a huddle, near the ropes. Litton Das and Soumya Sarkar are the openers for Bangladesh. Angelo Mathews has the new ball in hand and is raring to go. Let's play...

... The Run Chase ...

Bangladesh made a decent start but was amplified after Taskin Ahmed swiftly removed the opener, Dhananjaya de Silva. Rishad Hossain further disrupted Sri Lanka's rhythm by breaking their resilient second-wicket partnership with the dismissal of Kamindu Mendis. Despite Bangladesh's initial success, their bowlers struggled to apply consistent pressure on the new batters, allowing them to settle and accumulate runs freely. Just as Sri Lanka seemed to be gaining momentum, Mustafizur Rahman struck, dismissing the skipper, Wanindu Hasaranga and Shouriful Islam added to the pressure with another crucial wicket, swinging the game back into balance. Taskin Ahmed's final over proved decisive, claiming the prized scalp of the formidable Kusal Mendis, tilting the momentum back in favour of the Bangla Tigers. Rishad Hossain chipped again with a wicket at the end before Litton Das finished the innings with a superb no-look run out. Taskin Ahmed remains the pick of the bowlers for his crucial 2 wickets in 4 overs. With 175 runs to chase, the Bangla Tigers will undoubtedly seek a solid start to their innings. However, Sri Lanka will be eager to disrupt their plans and defend this target. Stick around to find out as the chase comes to you in a bit.

Sri Lanka, having been put into bat, commenced their innings with a measured approach in the initial overs. Kusal Mendis emerged as the aggressor, swiftly taking on the opposition's bowling attack, while Dhananjaya de Silva's early wicket stemmed the flow of runs a bit. Both Kamindu Mendis and Wanindu Hasaranga displayed promise with solid starts but succumbed to the process of challenging the bowlers. Charith Asalanka's stint at the crease was brief, adding to the team's woes. However, it was Kusal Mendis who assumed the role of the linchpin, steering the innings with calculated aggression, forging crucial partnerships with the middle order before his departure after making a commendable 86-run contribution. A slight burst of boundaries by Dasun Shanaka and Sadeera Samarawickrama towards the end helped Sri Lanka reach a good total of 174 runs, which they will have to defend with strong bowling efforts.

Bangladesh clawed their way back in the second half of the innings, successfully restricting Sri Lanka to 174 runs, which appeared to be heading for a higher total at one stage. Although Sri Lanka will be happy with this score on the board.

We are all in readiness for the action to begin! The two umpires walk out to the middle followed by the Bangladesh fielders. It will be Dhananjaya de Silva and Kusal Mendis to open for Sri Lanka. Shoriful Islam has the new ball in hand and is raring to go. Let's play says the umpire.

Wanindu Hasaranga the skipper of Sri Lanka says that they would have bowled first as well. Adds that the pitch in the last game was good and they tried to bowl on good areas. Ends by saying that have three changes as Dhananjaya de Silva, himself and Nuwan Thushara come in for Avishka Fernando, Matheesha Pathirana and Dilshan Madushanka.

Najmul Hossain Shanto the skipper of Bangladesh says it looks like a good wicket and expects seam movement early on. Adds that they go unchanged and the boys have shown a lot of character especially the bowlers. Concludes that they will have to adapt to the conditions quickly and execute well.

Sri Lanka (Playing XI) - Dhananjaya de Silva, Kusal Mendis (WK), Kamindu Mendis, Sadeera Samarawickrama, Charith Asalanka, Angelo Mathews, Dasun Shanaka, Wanindu Hasaranga (C), Maheesh Theekshana, Binura Fernando, Nuwan Thushara.

Bangladesh have won the coin flip and elected to BOWL first.

Sri Lanka, on the other hand, have clinched consecutive T20 series victories and are aiming to make it three in a row heading into this final game. However, in their previous game, they faced difficulties executing their plans with the bat on a good batting track. Despite setting a par total to defend, the bowlers struggled to hit their marks and failed to pick up crucial wickets, ultimately costing them the game. With Matheesha Pathirana ruled out of the side due to a left hamstring injury, Sri Lanka will face a daunting task in their bowling effort. Much will depend on the experience of Angelo Mathews to lead and marshal the bowling unit in their quest to clinch the series. Will the visitors be able to win this game and seal the series, or will the Bangladesh Tigers once again prove their mettle to emerge victorious? We shall find out soon as the Toss and team updates come to you in a bit.

Bangladesh displayed a solid effort in the must-win second game to draw the series level. With momentum on their side, this well-led team, captained by Najmul Hossain Shanto, will bring their A-game into this final clash. The strong batting lineup was complemented by the bowlers, who played a crucial role in securing the victory by restricting the Lankans to a par total. Despite a slight falter in the death bowling, the Tigers will undoubtedly have fine-tuned things to come back stronger into this decisive game.

Hello and a warm welcome to the decider of this 3-match series between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. With both teams deadlocked at 1-1, this final game promises to be an exciting clash to conclude this T20 series.

... MATCH DAY ...

It is now time for the conclusion of the three-match T20I series between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka at the Sylhet International Stadium in Sylhet and it should be an enticing encounter as the series is dead locked at 1-1. We have seen some wonderful batting from both sides in the first two games but Bangladesh have just been a bit more consistent. After falling agonizingly short in a run chase of more than 200 in the first game, the hosts came back strongly and kept the Lankans under 170 runs and chase it down in just 18.1 overs with 8 wickets still intact. The likes of Kusal Mendis and skipper Charith Asalanka have done with the bat for Sri Lanka but Avishka Fernando has flopped in both games and none of the batters could capitalise on good starts in the previous game which they would want to rectify. On the other hand, Bangladesh didn't even require Mahmudullah and Jaker Ali, the two players who almost took them to victory in the first game and skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto was able to lead from the front in the second game. All in all, it seems another high-scoring contest and it will come down to which team bowls and field better. Who are you backing to win the series?
