Hyderabad is a side that seems to have a settled playing 11 but is yet to find their rhythm as they have been marred by the inconsistency that has threatened to derail their season. Initially, they were having issues with their opening partnership but altered their batting order and got success. In recent times it has been batters playing loose shots and giving away their wickets cheaply but they will know that their success depends heavily on their batters performing at the highest level. The pace bowling contingent is well equipped and they do not lack options but the injury to Washington Sundar will force them to alter their setup. Delhi seemed to lack direction when the tournament began in the absence of their regular skipper Rishabh Pant and David Warner tried his best to lead from the front but could not get the best out of his team. Their batting is still unpredictable and while a few batters in the middle order have got off to decent starts in recent games, they will need more substantial contributions to make a difference. The tournament has proved to be a cricketing carnival and as lovers of the game, it has been difficult not to be completely engrossed in the action. We focus our attention on match number 40 where we will witness a battle for survival as 10th-placed Delhi host 9th-place Hyderabad at the Arun Jaitley Stadium with both teams having registered just two wins in the seven games they have played so far. Despite their positions on the table, the two teams will be entering this encounter in contrasting moods as Delhi have picked up two consecutive wins after losing their first five games while on the other hand, Hyderabad are on a three-match losing streak. The two teams faced each other in the reverse fixture in their previous encounters at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad and Delhi won the close encounter by 7 runs. It was a game that saw two teams in poor batting form struggle and the side with a fractionally better display with the bat, came up trumps. Delhi have been heavily dependent on their skipper David Warner, who has 306 runs under his belt, to help them get decent scores on the board but have seen handy contributions from Manish Pandey and Axar Patel lower down the order.
