Commentary

Right then, that it is from this game and this series as well where England comfortably comes on top of Pakistan. The trophy has been handed over to the captain Jos Buttler who joins his entire team to pose for some pictures. The next destination for both of these teams will be the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 which will start on 2nd June, Sunday. Until then, cheers and goodbye!

Jos Buttler, the victorious skipper of England is also the PLAYER OF THE SERIES for his brilliant batting performances. He talks about the performance being good in the series, he mentions the nets sessions been a big part in the success. He further adds that always keep working on yourself is the answer of a good performance and thats what him and the team have been doing. He says that getting a few good wins before the big stage always gives you a good mental space and he is happy that the team is doing well before the World Cup.

Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan says that they batted well in the Powerplay but once he got out, the momentum shifted and they suffered a collapse and that's where you need your middle order to step up. Adds that it is very difficult to gain back that momentum and England bowled very well giving nothing away but they hope that they can learn from this and rectify their mistakes in the World Cup. Mentions that they have played good cricket in patches but will need to improve in a few areas, and they are confident of performing well in the big  event.

Adil Rashid is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his impressive bowling effort. He talks about assessing the conditions and bowling accordingly helped him tonight. He adds on and says that the World Cup is in the USA and its going to be new for everyone, so assessing the conditions for the spinners is very important. He talks about his net sessions being very productive and he looks to do well on the big stage.

Presentation Time...

Earlier in the game, Pakistan got off to a good start but only managed to post a below-par score due to a collapse in the middle overs. The top order consisting of Mohammad Rizwan, Babar Azam, and Usman Khan contributed the majority of runs while Iftikhar Ahmed and Naseem Shah added some crucial runs towards the end. England was fantastic with the ball will Mark Wood, Liam Livingstone, and Mark Wood all getting a couple of wickets each while Jofra Archer, Chris Jordan, and Moeen Ali chipped in with one each as well.It was an pretty easy run-chanse for England but more importantly all of their top five batters got some runs under their belt that will give them a lot of confidence going into the main event.

Pakistan, on the other hand, will be dissappointed with their performance as a whole in this game. They had some moments but were  never really in the game defending this smallish target. The frontline pacers were taken to the cleaners and were unable to make much impact against the powerful batting of the hosts. Azam Khan also did not have a good game behind the stumps and dropped a couple of chances which you cannot really afford defending a low total. The only positive for them was Haris Rauf who showed some fight and picked up all the three wickets that fell and will look to maintaing this form in the World Cup while the rest have their task cut out.

England got off to an a absolute flier with both Phil Salt and Jos Buttler smashing it all around the park. They utilised the Powerplay perfectly and put a lot of pressure on the bowlers. The duo added 81 runs together before Salt unfortunately got out after blasting 45 off just 24 balls. After that, Will Jacks joined his skipper and did not let the scoring rate drop at all. Buttler was dismissed for 39 while Jacks also departed after a camoe. The job was mostly done by the top order, and Jonny Bairstow and Harry Brook finished it off with more than four overs to spare.

ENGLAND TAKES THE SERIES 2-0! A clinical performance from the hosts as they have outplayed the visitors in all three depratments. This is exactly what they would have wanted before going to the World Cup but not so much for Pakistan as they were never looked like challenging the home side in this game or in the series.

Commentary

We are back! The players and the Umpires are back on the field to start the Run Chase. England walk out to chase 158. Jos Buttler and Phil Salt are the opening batters for England. Shaheen Afridi will start the attack for Pakistan. Let's Play!

... THE RUN CHASE ...

Will England's batters rise to the occasion and seal the series, or will Pakistan's bowlers pull off a remarkable defense? Stay tuned as the run chase unfolds in what promises to be a nail-biting finale to this exciting T20 series. England chasing 158 in 20 overs. Let's see what happens.

The turning point came on the final ball of the powerplay when Jofra Archer dismissed the Pakistani skipper Babar Azam for 36 runs. This breakthrough proved crucial for England as it triggered a dramatic collapse. Pakistan, who were cruising at 59/0, suddenly found themselves reeling at 86/5 by the 11th over. Usman Khan provided some resistance with a valiant 38 off 21 balls, showing a glimpse of hope for the visitors. Iftikhar Ahmed also contributed with 21 runs. However, the rest of the Pakistani batting lineup faltered under the relentless pressure from the English bowlers. The English spinners, Adil Rashid, Moeen Ali, and Liam Livingstone, were exceptional with their variations and control, tying down the Pakistani batters effectively. The pace duo of Mark Wood and Jofra Archer complemented the spinners perfectly, with Archer’s early breakthrough setting the tone for the middle overs. With a target of 158 set for England, the match is poised intriguingly. Pakistan's bowling lineup, known for its potency, will be eager to defend this total and level the series. The final T20 of the series promises to be a thrilling contest as England aims to chase down the target and Pakistan fights to stay alive in the series.

England walk back happy as they bowl out Pakistan inside 20 overs on 157 runs. Pakistan started off well but did not capitalise on it and fell before the England bowling. Pakistan's innings comes to an abrupt end as they are bundled out for 157 runs in 19.5 overs. It was a strong comeback by the English bowlers after a promising start by the Pakistani openers. Invited to bat first, Pakistan got off to a rollicking start with Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan (23 off 16) laying a solid foundation, forging a 59-run partnership for the first wicket.

OUT! RUN OUT! That's it then! Pakistan have been bowled out for 157!

19.40

Jofra Archer goes back to the shorter length, bangs in a quick bouncer, Haris Rauf goes for the pull but misses.

The third T20I between these two formidable teams was washed out due to rain, leaving both sides eager to prove their mettle in this decisive match. In their last completed encounter, England showcased their batting prowess by posting a challenging total of 183 for 7 in 20 overs. Jos Buttler was the star of the show, playing a sensational knock of 84 runs off 51 balls. His aggressive and calculated innings provided a solid foundation for England. Will Jacks also contributed with a useful 37 runs, forming a key partnership with Buttler. However, England's lower order, including Moeen Ali and Liam Livingstone, failed to capitalize on the strong start. They struggled to accelerate, consuming too many deliveries and failing to inflict significant damage in the death overs. As a result, England had to settle for 183, despite being in a position to eye a score well over 200. In response, Pakistan's chase got off to a rocky start. They lost their prolific opener Mohammad Rizwan and the promising Saim Ayub early in the innings. The burden then fell on captain Babar Azam and the dynamic Fakhar Zaman to revive the innings. Babar Azam, known for his elegant stroke play, managed to score 32 runs, while Fakhar Zaman looked in sublime touch, scoring a brisk 45. Fakhar's dismissal, however, triggered a collapse, with Pakistan losing wickets at regular intervals. The middle and lower order failed to build on the foundation laid by Babar and Fakhar, and Pakistan's innings eventually folded for 160, falling short by 23 runs.

A very warm welcome to all the viewers joining us here today. The stage is set for a thrilling finale as England and Pakistan gear up for the fourth and final T20I of the four-match series. The iconic Kennington Oval in London, United Kingdom, will host this crucial encounter. With England leading the series 1-0, Pakistan faces a must-win situation to level the series and gain momentum ahead of the World Cup.

... MATCH DAY ...

The start of the Men's T20 World Cup 2024 is in sight with just a few days to go for the mega event to get underway and two teams who met each other in the Final of the last T20 World Cup, England and Pakistan go head-to-head in a four-match T20I series in order to get ready for the main event. Next up is the 4th T20I which will be played at the Kennington Oval in London and currently, hosts England have a 1-0 lead in the series with games 1 and 3 getting washed out. The 2nd T20I that was played in Birmingham saw a fairly high-scoring contest with England winning by 23 runs and Jos Buttler took his form from the Indian T20 League into the international circuit and made a thunderous 84 off 51 balls. The likes of Will Jacks and Jonny Bairstow too made useful contributions but the red-hot Phil Salt coming off a sensational Indian T20 League missed out and he will be eager to showcase his best. With the ball, Jofra Archer returned to international action and seemed almost back to his best picking up a couple of wickets in the process as well. England bowled very pretty as a bowling unit that was led by Moeen Ali upfront with his off-spin and even though Reece Topley picked up 3 wickets, he was the most expensive of the bunch by a fair distance as well. Moving on to Pakistan, their top four comprised of Mohammad Rizwan, Saim Ayub, Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman and all four of them are genuine openers in this format. Rizwan and Ayub however got the nod to open and both of them failed miserably which allowed the likes of Babar and Fakhar to bat inside the Powerplay and the duo led the fightback pretty well. The middle order failed again but the likes of Iftikhar Ahmed and Imad Wasim made useful contributions which eventually wasn't enough. Pakistan also has a pretty similar bowling lineup to England, three pacers and a couple of spinners. Mohammad Amir returning to international cricket but was wicketless and it was Shaheen Afridi who picked up three scalps with the likes of Imad Wasim and Haris Rauf performing decently. It was that spell of Shadab Khan which again was underwhelming and slowly, he has turned into a batting all-rounder rather than a leg spinner who used to be pretty handy with the bat. With just one game left in the series before both sides fly to the Caribbean and United States, both teams will be eager to get a win. England have a chance of winning the series 2-0 whereas Pakistan can only end on level terms. Who are you backing for the win?
