Mohammed Siraj led their bowling attack well in the first phase of the tournament but he has gone for runs in the last couple of games but now he has the experience and support of Josh Hazlewood which makes them a bit more dangerous. Their famed top order has been inconsistent with their skipper, Rohit Sharma not firing at all. However, they have managed to win a couple of games due to the incredible batting from SKY and Tim David which is a positive for them. Their bowling has not been up to the mark either and they have suffered another massive blow as Jofra Archer is ruled out of the season due to an injury. They have named Chris Jordan as his replacement who can help them with their death bowling which has cost them a lot. Yes, it is Rohit vs Kohli as Mumbai clash against Bangalore at the Wankhede Stadium in a crucial game as both sides will look to strengthen their playoff hopes in the tournament.

It is now time for Match number 54 in the 2023 Indian T20 League as Mumbai take on Bangalore at the Wankhede Stadium in what is a very crucial encounter in the context of the tournament. Two fan-favourite sides go head-to-head in Mumbai and both sides are neck and neck, only separated by net run rate on the table. Bangalore are slightly ahead of Mumbai in the table and did win the reverse fixture that took place in Bangalore earlier in the tournament. Since then, Bangalore have put on a few impressive performances but have also let go off a couple of matches that they could have won. Mumbai, on the other hand, didn't start the tournament well as usual but have slowly and surely gotten into the thick of things. The hosts' middle order has been in fine form and now with the likes of Nehal Wadhera firing as well, only the opening pair remains a concern for them. They tried to switch things up last time around against Chennai by sending Cameron Green out to open but it didn't work and then Rohit Sharma who came in at number 3 got out soon as well. They have a few injury concerns with Tilak Varma, their most consistent batter in the last couple of seasons, still, a doubt for this game and their overseas pace battery has got a few injury issues as well. Piyush Chawla though has turned back the clock and is enjoying his most successful campaign ever in terms of wickets in this competition. If their top order can fire and the pace attack can start well with the ball, then Mumbai are a very dangerous side. Bangalore have blown hot and cold all season with over-reliance on the top order with the bat and then the bowling attack also not being up to the mark. Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli have shown amazing consistency but Dinesh Karthik hasn't been able to replicate his death-over antics from the previous seasons and hasn't been able to finish off games. The likes of Mahipal Lomror and Glenn Maxwell have played a few handy knocks but they need more from the other batters. On the bowling front, Mohammed Siraj has been brilliant in the Powerplay but there have been a few occasions when the batters have taken him on and he has crumbled a bit under pressure. Josh Hazlewood's return is a big plus but Wanindu Hasaranga just hasn't taken enough wickets in that middle phase and Bangalore haven't quite been able to stop runs at the death as well with Harshal Patel blowing hot and cold as well.
