The intent shown by Brathwaite and Hodge forced Mehidy's hand as he introduced himself into the attack and brought Taijul Islam on from the other end. The left-arm spinner did not disappoint, dismissing Brathwaite and Alick Athanaze in quick succession. Amidst the fall of wickets at the other end, Hodge has been decisive with his footwork and has found boundaries with regularity. With 154 runs still required and significant assistance for the spinners, Hodge will be pivotal to the hosts' fortunes in this game. As for Bangladesh, Mehidy himself has not been particularly effective, and we might see him bring a pacer on from his end, while Taijul is likely to continue from the other. Another gripping session in this Test! It was truly a tale of two halves, with the first part going the way of the hosts as Kraigg Brathwaite kept them steady. However, the reintroduction of Taijul Islam allowed Bangladesh to claim the latter half of the session. Brathwaite picked up where he left off before the Lunch break as he continued to bat proactively. As Nahid Rana and Taskin Ahmed operated in tandem, Bangladesh managed to regain some control, with Taskin eventually dismissing Carty. However, Brathwaite remained resolute, and together with Kavem Hodge, the pair ticked along nicely.

... DAY 4, SESSION 2 ...

In reply, the West Indies started positively with Kraigg Brathwaite leading the way, while Mikyle Louis at the other end looked tentative and shaky. With one over left before the break, Mehidy Hasan turned to Taijul Islam, and that brought success as the left-arm spinner managed to nip out Louis. It will be a record chase if the West Indies pull it off, and it will be important that they take a leaf out of the book of the Bangladeshi batters and bat positively. As for Bangladesh, they will have to be patient. It did get overcast towards the end of the session, and it started drizzling as the players went off for the break, so those conditions should suit their pacers. The ball was changed due to being out of shape, and that brought immediate success for the West Indies. Taijul and Mominul Haque departed in quick succession, opening up one end for the tourists. It looked like the West Indies would wrap up the innings quickly, as the replacement ball was doing more than the previous one. However, while batting with numbers 9, 10, and 11, Jaker Ali shifted gears and added valuable runs to the Bangladesh total. The tourists managed to score 57 runs for their last 3 wickets to end up with a lead of 286, thanks majorly to Jaker's 91.

West Indies have been dented at the stroke of lunch, and that is the cherry on top for the tourists in what has been an ideal session for them. This Test just continues to deliver, doesn't it? We’ve been served yet another entertaining session where we saw 98 runs being scored in 22.3 overs and the fall of 6 wickets. It all started rather quietly, with the ball not doing much off the wicket or in the air, and Taijul Islam and Jaker Ali being cautious in their approach.

OUT! CAUGHT! Taijul Islam strikes on the stroke of Lunch break. This is very full and on the middle stump this time. Mikyle Louis is cramped up and tries to flick it but fails to take his front leg out of the way and the ball ricochets off the bat onto the boot and lobs up towards the short-leg fielder. Shahadat Hossain dives in front to complete that catch. The umpires send it upstairs and the replays show that it has gone onto the boot off the bat. Louis walks off while shaking his head. THAT WILL BE LUNCH ON DAY 4!

Taken at short leg, but is it a bump ball? Mikyle Louis thinks so, and the third umpire is called into action. The front-on replay shows that the ball has gone straight onto the boot, and the side-on replays confirm the same. Over to check the fairness of the catch and it is indeed a fair catch.

Bangladesh capitalised on a narrow first-innings lead of 18 runs, finishing Day 3 at 193/5, extending their advantage. Shadman Islam and Mehidy Hasan led the charge with attacking, confident batting to stretch the lead. Mehidy’s intent-laden strokes during his stay were particularly eye-catching. Nahid Rana’s dominant maiden Test five-wicket haul, running in with high intensity and pace, had earlier broken West Indies’ resolve. With a firm 211-run lead and five wickets in hand, Bangladesh are in a commanding position, though the West Indies will be keen to fight back hard.

Starting Day 3 at 70/1, West Indies were in a decent position but endured a dramatic collapse, eventually being bowled out for a modest 146. Despite a strong start, they lost their final nine wickets for just 61 runs. West Indies' troubles were compounded with fast bowler Kemar Roach sidelined for much of the day, having sustained blows to his left shoulder while batting. Hello and welcome to Day 4 of the second Test between the West Indies and Bangladesh. We are set for another intriguing day of cricket. Day 3 was a topsy-turvy affair that started with West Indies on top, but by the end of it, Bangladesh took the ascendancy. The weather forecast predicts mostly sunny conditions with a few clouds, creating a perfect setting for the game to progress. The pitch is expected to assist the seamers, particularly early in the day, but whether it eases out as it did through sessions 2 and 3 on Day 3 remains to be seen. However, the positive for them is that batting seemed to get easier when Bangladesh batted, with the lateral movement not as pronounced as it was in the first innings. For Bangladesh, they will be hoping to bat for as long as possible to set an even more challenging target. A key factor for them will be the fitness of Mominul Haque, whom we did spot being padded up, though he did not look visibly well. Andre Adams, the bowling coach of Bangladesh is in for a quick chat with Ian Bishop. He says that it was a very good day and the boys showed some fight. Talking about Nahid Rana, he mentions that the wickets are going to come to him when you bowl at that pace. Further adds that his workload was being managed in the first Test and that was the reason he didn't play. Talking about the situation of the game, he says that firstly they have to put up more runs on the board and then look to bowl well in the last innings.

The Windies were also dealing with their own absentee, as Kemar Roach had been off the field after taking a couple of blows to his left shoulder while batting and was sent for an X-ray. His absence was felt keenly, but the hosts found some inspiration through Shamar Joseph, who removed both set batters early in the third session. Despite that, they could not run through the rest of the batting unit as they might have hoped, and the runs continued to leak. They managed to gain control with the departure of Litton Das and the return of Roach for a 5-over spell. However, the resilience from Bangladesh shone through as the pair of Jaker Ali and Taijul Islam held firm, guiding them to the end of the day with a lead of 211 runs.

Bangladesh’s second innings began under intense conditions, with a lot of chatter around the bat, so much so that the umpires had to intervene several times. A fired-up Jayden Seales was in the thick of it, claiming the wicket of Mahmudul Hasan Joy in the very first over. However, Shahadat Hossain stepped up with a counter-attacking innings that quietened the chatter. In the absence of Mominul Haque, who did not take the field due to illness, Mehidy Hasan promoted himself up the order and kept the momentum going alongside Shadman Islam.

Well, it’s called the 'moving day' for a reason, isn’t it? At the start of play, the West Indies seemed to have the upper hand at 70/1 in response to Bangladesh's 164. However, by the close of the day, that balance of power has shifted firmly towards the visitors. Kraigg Brathwaite and Keacy Carty began the day cautiously, but the pivotal moment came when Brathwaite was dismissed by a sharp bouncer from Nahid Rana. Shadman Islam and Mehidy Hasan followed suit, adopting a positive approach to keep the scoreboard moving. Their unbeaten 63-run stand ensured a productive session for Bangladesh, helping them stretch the lead to 128 runs. The West Indies have clearly felt the absence of Kemar Roach, who has gone for an X-ray after sustaining a couple of blows to his left shoulder while batting.
