Commentary

That's it from this game then! We hope you enjoyed the coverage. Do join in for the second T20I of the series between these sides on Wednesday (December 18th) at 00:00 GMT from the same venue. It will be a must-win for the Windies if they are to stay alive in this series. Until then, goodbye and take care!

Litton Das says he's surprised with how the wicket behaved as it was tough. Mentions 147 was a decent score and he backs his bowlers. Adds he expects his his team to play well and with passion. Ends by saying, he hopes to win this series.

Rovman Powell says they need to be a lot more careful at the start, they knew Bangladesh only had a chance if they took early wickets. Mentions he always tries to lead from the front and he's happy he's a lot more consistent. Adds the batting group let their side down but the bowlers were really good. Ends by saying they're a good T20 side but haven't been at their best in the recent past.

Mahedi Hasan, MAN OF THE MATCH, says he stuck to his basics and tried to get it right. Mentions he enjoyed bowling on this wicket and the global T20 League gave him good confidence. Ends by saying he looked to put up a partnership with Shamim Hossain.

Earlier in the day, Bangladesh struggled with the bat for most parts of their innings but a good cameo from Mahedi Hasan and an excellent knock from Shamim Hossain took them to a decent score which we still felt was under par. However, an excellent combined bowling effort has helped them get over the line.

Powell and Romario Shepherd stepped on the gas and they started striking it big! A few big overs and the game was right in the gasp of the Windies. It came down to the Windies needing just over a run-a-ball but the likes of Taskin, Tanzim and Hasan bowled three brilliant overs towards the end to record a remarkable victory.

Bangladesh were brilliant with the new ball. Das was exceptional with his changes. The pacers kept it tight and Mahedi Hasan ran through the top order in no time. West Indies looked dead and buried when they were 7 down and needed over 10 per over.

What a game of cricket! Brilliant! It kept swinging from one way to the another but in the end, it's the visitors who finally get a win on this tour in the white ball format. Credit to them to hold their nerve throughout. Credit to Hasan Mahmud to bowl a brilliant last over to help his side get over the line. Real character shown by their bowlers especially after how they were beaten in the ODI series.

OUT! Timber! Cleans him up! Hasan Mahmud the hero for Bangladesh! Brilliant from him! He goes full and angles it on middle. Joseph swings across the line but misses and this hits the stumps. Bangladesh take a 1-0 lead as they win by 7 runs!

Commentary

... THE RUN CHASE ...

The bowling from West Indies was superb but only till the 15th over as in the last 5 overs they went for aplenty. Akeal Hosein was the standout bowler, particularly in the Power Play, where he was virtually unplayable. He picked up two crucial wickets, setting the tone for the hosts. Obed McCoy also had a good outing, claiming two wickets and maintaining a tight leash on the Bangladesh batters. Romario Shepherd and Roston Chase chipped in with a wicket each as well.

We've reached the halfway mark in this T20I encounter, and Bangladesh has managed to post a competitive total of 147 runs after being put in to bat. The start was far from ideal for Bangladesh, as they lost wickets in quick succession, slumping to 30/3 inside the Power Play. However, Soumya Sarkar and Jaker Ali provided much-needed stability to the innings, stitching together a 57-run partnership that helped to revive the Bangladesh batting. Just when it seemed like the momentum was shifting in Bangladesh's favor, the wickets started to fall again. But then, Shamim Hossain and Mahedi Hasan took center stage, playing crucial cameos to propel the Bangladesh total past the 140-mark. Both Shamim and Mahedi scored in their 20s, injecting some much-needed impetus into the innings.

Commentary

The visitors last played a T20I series against India and were clean swept in the three-match series. Bangladesh will look to be more competitive and challenge the Men in Maroon. Hello and welcome to our coverage of the three-match T20I series between the West Indies and Bangladesh from the Arnos Vale Ground in Kingston, St Vincent. Rovman Powell continues to lead the side in this format with Nicholas Pooran, Akeal Hosein, Johnson Charles, and Obed McCoy joining the side for the T20Is and will be looking to make a significant impact for the home side. ...MATCH DAY...

The Bangladesh tour of the West Indies has reached its final chapter, and the stage is set for an electrifying three-match T20I series. After a gritty 1-1 draw in the Tests and a dominant 3-0 ODI sweep by the Windies, both sides will be eager to leave their mark in the shortest format. The Arnos Vale Stadium in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is ready to host the opening clash, with fans expecting a thrilling battle. The West Indies come into this series riding high on confidence but with unfinished business in T20Is. They were outclassed at home by England in their last series and will be desperate to set the record straight. Nicholas Pooran has been nothing short of sensational, smashing sixes for fun and surpassing Chris Gayle's record for most T20 sixes in a calendar year. Brandon King is in fine touch, but his opening partner - be it Andre Fletcher or Johnson Charles - needs to fire. Skipper Rovman Powell has had his ups and downs, but the likes of Keacy Carty and the red-hot Justin Greaves add depth to their batting lineup and both could be in line to make their debuts. All-rounders Romario Shepherd and Roston Chase bring balance to the side, while Alzarri Joseph’s fiery pace and Obed McCoy’s clever variations form a lethal pace attack. The spin duo of Akeal Hosein and Gudakesh Motie could prove decisive on home soil. Bangladesh, however, will be hungry to bounce back after a heartbreaking ODI series. Soumya Sarkar has been in scintillating form, fresh off his heroics in the Global Super League T20. Skipper Mehidy Hasan, along with Litton Das and Jaker Ali, will anchor the batting, but this is also a chance for rising stars like Parvez Hossain Emon and Tanzid Hasan to shine. Taskin Ahmed was a standout in the Test series, and Bangladesh will hope he carries that momentum into the T20Is. Hasan Mahmud and Tanzim Hasan Sakib bolster the pace attack, while the towering leg-spinner Rishad Hossain could be the X-factor. Will the Bangla Tigers roar back to life, or will the Windies continue their winning spree? It’s all set for an explosive start - who are you backing?
