Abdasa is constituency number one of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly. It is one of the six Assembly seats of Gujarat's Kachchh district apart from Mandvi, Bhuj, Anjar, Gandhidham and Rapar. It is one of the seven Assembly seats that make up the Kachchh Lok Sabha constituency. The Abdasa Assembly constituency is a general seat, i.e. it is not reserved for Scheduled Castes (SCs) or Scheduled Tribes (STs). In 2017, Congress candidate Pradhyumansinh Mahipatsinh Jadeja defeated BJP's Chhabilbhai Naranbhai Patel by 9,746 votes. In 2022, Jadeja is with the BJP and has been pitted against Congress candidate Mamadbhai Jung Jat and AAP's Vasant Valjibhai Khetani.
