Karjan is constituency number 147 of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly. It is one of the ten Assembly seats of Gujarat's Vadodara district apart from Savli, Vaghodia, Dabhoi, Vadodara City, Sayajigunj, Akota, Raopura, Manjalpur and Padra. It is one of the seven Assembly seats that make up the Bharuch Lok Sabha constituency. The Karjan Assembly constituency is a general seat, i.e. it is not reserved for Scheduled Castes (SCs) or Scheduled Tribes (STs).
