Katargam
Katargam is constituency number 166 of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly. It is one of the 16 Assembly seats of Gujarat's Surat district apart from Olpad, Mangrol, Mandvi, Kamrej, Surat East, Surat North, Varachha Road, Karanj, Limbayat, Udhna, Majura, Surat West, Choryasi, Bardoli and Mahuva. It is one of the seven Assembly seats that make up the Surat Lok Sabha constituency. The Katargam Assembly constituency is a general seat, i.e. it is not reserved for Scheduled Castes (SCs) or Scheduled Tribes (STs). In 2017, BJP's Vinodbhai Amarshibhai Moradiya defeated Congress candidate Jignesh Jivani by 79,230 votes. In 2022, Moradiya is facing Congress candidate Kalpesh Harjivanbhai Variya and AAP's Gujarat state unit chief Gopal Italia.
