PITCH REPORT - This is a good flat wicket and anything above 300 will be hard to chase. It is extremely hot and humid and it will take a toll on the fielders. The seamers will get help under the light despite only a bit of grass on the pitch.

Babar Azam says they would have batted first as well. Adds their pace attack looks good and credit to the staff for managing them well. There is a bit of grass and they will try to use it. Mentions they are used to the heat here as they have played a lot of matches here. Reckons they are looking forward to this match.

Shakib Al Hasan says no particular reason but they will try and put pressure on Pakistan first. Adds they are facing a different kind of team than Afghanistan and hopes to do well. Reckons they will play to their strength. Informs about the change, Litton Das replaces Shanto.

TOSS - Bangladesh have won the toss and will BAT first!

We say that because Bangladesh's batting has been inconsistent in the two games they have played so far. They have been brilliant in one but poor in the another. Their bowling has fared decently so far but it is their batting which will need to come good against their opposition. The games between the two sides are quite entertaining and we hope for another one. Stay tuned for the toss and teams.

It is time for the Super 4s and it is the hosts who will get things underway as they face Bangladesh. Pakistan have been excellent so far in the tournament. They have played just the one completed game but their bowling was brilliant against India too. That for Bangladesh is going to be a real task. How their batters face Pakistan's excellent pace attack could well define the outcome of the game.

It is time for phase 2 of the Asia Cup 2023. We are done with all the group stage fixtures and now we will be entertained by the top two sides of each table. Yes! You guessed it right. It is time for Super 4 and the first match of this phase will see an encounter between Pakistan and Bangladesh. Pakistan started this competition with a comprehensive win over Nepal, but could not pick up all points on offer against India, as the match got washed out due to rain and both teams shared a point. Pakistan showcased their bowling skills, especially with the new-ball in hand. Their trio of pace bowlers - Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah have been remarkable so far, combining for 15 wickets in the first two matches. Although, their openers need to step their game-up and set a solid platform, which will eventually allow their middle-order to play more freely. Babar Azam and Iftikhar Ahmed scored a ton each in the first game against Nepal which then helped them to demolish the opposition with the ball, but at one stage they were in a precarious position at 25/2 inside the 7th over. This is the area they need to focus on and if it is resolved then Bangladesh would've a huge mountain to climb. The Bangla Tigers are coming into this game with a win on their back, so they certainly have the momentum on their side, but now they need to transcend the same form against a fomidable Pakistan outfit. Although, Bangladesh would be without the services of Najmul Hossain Shanto as he suffered a hamstring injury, but on the plus side, Litton Das is making his way back into side, and he couldn't have returned to the squad at any better time, as he himself was recovering from a viral. This could well be a blessing in disguise for Bangladesh. This is a huge game for both these sides and the stage is set as we are officially into the business end of this tournament. Who will get over the line? Only time shall tell.
