Right then, that is all we have from this game. Do switch tabs and catch the action between Lucknow and Punjab. Punjab have won the toss and elected to bowl first. The action will begin at 7.30 am IST (2 pm GMT) but do follow our build-up to the game. Cheers!

Virat Kohli has been announced as the Player of the Match for scoring 50 of 34 balls and three well-taken catches.

Earlier, Bangalore got off to a good start courtesy of Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis with the former getting to his 47th half-century. There were contributions from Mahipal Lomror and Glenn Maxwell but at the halfway stage it seemed like the score would not be enough as Khaleel Ahmed initiated a collapse in the middle of their inning. However, the bowlers did a remarkable job to make this a comfortable win.

Bangalore looked pumped when they took the field to defend the target and their Impact Player Anuj Rawat pulled off a remarkable piece for fielding to get his team their first scalp. Wayne Parnell claimed a wicket in his first over conceding just one run and Mohammed Siraj was rewarded as well for some fiery bowling. Vyshak Vijay Kumar proved to be a surprise package as he claimed three wickets for 20 runs in his four overs and Mohammed Siraj ended with two under his belt. Wayne Parnell, Harshal Patel, and Wanindu Hasaranga all chipped in with a wicket each but would have liked to bowl their opponents but were unable to do so due to a stubborn 10th-wicket partnership between Anrich Nortje and Kuldeep Yadav.

Delhi got off to a disastrous start as they lost Prithvi Shaw on a duck as he looked to steal a dicey single. Things got worse for the visitors as Mitchell Marsh failed to trouble the scorers on his return to the side and Yash Dhull was trapped in front of the stumps the following over leaving their side reeling at 2 for the loss of three wickets. David Warner played a few good shots to get the momentum going but he too departed inside the Powerplay and the visitors were in a whole lot of trouble. Abishek Porel failed to make much of an impact as Manish Pandey fought a lone battle as he notched up a good half-century. Axar Patel played a decent cameo but once both of them departed, they were well behind the game.

A remarkable win for Bangalore brings them back on track after two consecutive losses! Their bowlers have bowled remarkably well to help them seal a 23-run win and the crowd looks to be ecstatic to see their side return to winning ways. A poor effort by Delhi as they succumb to their fifth consecutive loss and they are yet to get off the mark in this competition. They need to start changing things up at the earliest as the campaign looks to be steadily slipping out of their grasp.

Commentary

We are back for the chase! The players of Bangalore can be seen in a huddle where Faf du Plessis is giving a pep talk. Delhi have used their Impact Player as Prithvi Shaw replaces Mustafizur Rahman and strides out along with David Warner to open the innings for Delhi. Mohammed Siraj to start proceedings with the ball. Here we go...

... THE RUN CHASE ...

Right then, Bangalore have posted a fighting total on the board and the pitch looks on the slower side and with dew not being that much of a factor this could be defendable and Bangaore will certainly hope that is the case. Delhi will need to bat really well as their batting order hasn't fired till now, but this is a great opportunity for them to gun this total down and open their account. Let's see how the chase unfolds.

Kuldeep Yadav who was the pick of the bowlers in the first inning is up for a quick chat. He says the wicket is on the slower side and he tried to keep the length right. Claims that he was looking to check for Virat Kohli’s initial movement and bowl accordingly. Mentions that Glenn Maxwell was going well and he believes in himself so was able to take his wicket. Adds that a wicket on the next ball helped them get back into the game. Reckons that in T20 cricket, the wickets will come and he just needs to bowl well as he hopes to reach the 20-wicket mark. Ends by saying that the pitch is on the slower side so 175 is a good total and the ball is not coming hard onto the bat so when spinners come on they need to rotate the strike.

Delhi will be extremely pleased with their bowling effort here and they have given themselves a good chance of getting a win. They were able to get rid of Faf du Plessis early credit to a excellent catch from Aman Khan, but couldn't really build on that at that stage. Their spinners managed to squeeze in the runs in the middle overs which put pressure on the batters to go for the big shots. As soon as they got rid of Virat Kohli, things started to get better for them. David Warner took a risk and gave the ball to Kuldeep Yadav in the 15th over which worked wonders for them as it was a double-wicket maiden over with wickets of Glenn Maxwelll and Dinesh Karthik and the game completely changed after that. Mitchell Marsh also picked up couple of wickets while Axar Patel and Lalit Yadav got one each.

Bangalore once again got off to flying start, but Faf du Plessis could not hang around for much long. That did not effect Virat Kohli in anyway as he continued his rich vein of form and notched up another half-century and along with Mahipal Lomror took the innings forward with a 47-run partnership. However, both of them fell in quick succession and in between that Glenn Maxwell played a quick cameo of 24 off just 14 balls. Then came the extraordinary collapse as they lost three wickets in three balls which put them on the back foot massively and they couldn't really recover from that. They were forced to use their Impact Player as they got in Anuj Rawat, but that did not work at all as he scored 15 runs in 22 balls. They might have missed a trick as they could have sent Wanindu Hasaranga to bat who has shown in the recent times that he can hit a few lusty blows too. In the end, Shahbaz Ahmed and Rawat huffed and puffed to take them to a respectable total.

An innings of two halves! Bangalore were cruising towards a big total in the first half of their batting, but they suffered yet another collapse due to which they were ultimately restricted to 174. Delhi will feel that the momentum is now on their side and will be the happier side going into the break.

We are all set for the game to begin as the umpires make their way out to the middle. The Delhi players are in a huddle at the boundary line and are now dispersing to take their respective fielding positions on the field. Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis walk out to resume their outstanding partnership at the top of the order for Bangalore. Anrich Nortje has the new ball in his hand and will begin proceedings. Let's play...

Faf du Plessis, the skipper of Bangalore, says that they would have bowled first as well but usually, at the Chinnaswamy, it is better to defend as the ball spins later. Adds that he expects the pitch to play well through the game. Mentions that it is on Virat Kohli and him to assess and play accordingly. Claims that they did well in the last game to pull things back and they have done well as a bowling unit to take wickets. Informs that their batting has been good on their home ground. Ends by saying that his job is easy as he has to pick the best bowling attack and batters and informs that Wanindu Hasaranga comes in for David Willey.

David Warner, the captain of Delhi, says that they will bowl first and the ground looks amazing. Adds that it is all about momentum and hopefully they get that with one win. Mentions that they have one change with Mitchell Marsh coming in for Rovman Powell.

Impact Player - Prithvi Shaw, Mukesh Kumar, Pravin Dubey, Sarfaraz Khan, Chetan Sakariya.

Delhi (Playing XI) - David Warner (C), Mitchell Marsh (In place of Rovman Powell), Yash Dhull, Manish Pandey, Axar Patel, Aman Khan (In place of Prithvi Shaw), Lalit Yadav, Abishek Porel (WK), Kuldeep Yadav, Anrich Nortje, Mustafizur Rahman.

Impact Players for Bangalore - Suyash Prabhudessai, David Willey, Akash Deep, Karn Sharma, Anuj Rawat.

Bangalore (Playing XI) - Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis (C), Mahipal Lomror, Glenn Maxwell, Shahbaz Ahmed, Dinesh Karthik (WK), Wanindu Hasaranga (In place of David Willey), Harshal Patel, Wayne Parnell, Mohammed Siraj, Vyshak Vijay Kumar (In place of Anuj Rawat).

TOSS - The captains are out in the middle. The coin is flipped into the air and lands in favor of Delhi. They have elected to BOWL first.

Delhi, on the other hand have had a torrid start of the season losing all four games. David Warner is the only batter who has scored runs consistently, but his strike-rate has been a talking point. The return of Mitchell Marsh could improve things for them in the right direction. Axar Patel has continued his good all-round form and will be crucial while Anrich Nortje and Mustafizur Rahman has to be on top of their game to challenge the home side. They desperately need a victory and they will be hopeful of getting it here in this match. Let's see who comes out. Toss and team news in a bit.

Bangalore have face two successive defeats, the latest being against Lucknow in a last-ball thriller. Their batting has been amazing with the opening pair of Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis scoring most of the runs and Glenn Maxwell also got back in form. However, the other batters haven't been consistent and their death bowling is a serious issue which has cost them big time. They will need to avoid making similar mistakes and they should be good to get the better of their opponents. They are coming up against a low on confidence side and they will fancy their chances to get the win.

Hello and welcome to our coverage of Match 21 where Bangalore will be hosting Delhi at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. The home side has won only one of their three games while the away side is yet to open their account in four games. This is not the ideal situation for both teams and they will give their all to get the win here. We can expect an exciting game of cricket.

... MATCH DAY ...

The excitement in the 16th edition of the Indian T20 League stems from the fact that any team can be victorious on its day and one player can take the game away from the opponent irrespective of form or momentum. Just the sheer number of games that have gone right down to the wire is indicative of how competitive this tournament is and why it is considered by many as the best T20 League in the world. In the blink of an eye, we arrive at game number 20 which will be played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium as Bangalore hosts the lads from the capital city of Delhi in what will be an enticing clash between two metro cities with a large fan following. Both teams have struggled to set a foothold in the tournament so far as losses have pegged back their respective title charge. Bangalore did start the campaign on a positive note, beating 5-time champions Mumbai at home, but consecutive defeats have left them scrambling in the bottom half of the table. They have played just three games so far and will know that it is too early to press the panic button with this game giving them the perfect opportunity to return to winning ways. The visitors are bottom of the table having lost all four games they have played so far and they need a major turnaround of fortunes as soon as possible if they do not wish to see their hopes for a successful season wither away. David Warner has been leading the side in the absence of Rishabh Pant and even though his performances have been consistent, he has been unable to get the best out of his players. Their batting has been the main concern as they have lost 36 wickets out of the possible 40 and need their overseas as well as homegrown talent to step up. Prithvi Shaw has not been able to translate his domestic form into runs so far with Manish Pandey and Yash Dhull yet to make a significant impact in the tournament. Apart from the skipper, none of the other foreign players has managed to live up to the billing with Rilee Rossouw and Rovman Powell failing to show their abilities while Philip Salt is yet to get a look in. Mitchell Marsh struggled initially before flying to Australia to tie the knot and he has now returned hopefully rejuvenated and raring to go. Anrich Nortje, Mustafizur Rahman, and Lungi Ngidi are their overseas pace-bowling options with Khaleel Ahmed, Mukesh Kumar, Ishant Sharma, and Kamlesh Nagarkoti as local options. Axar Patel's good form with the bat continues to be the talking point but he has been called up to do a job far too often and he forms a solid spin partnership with Kuldeep Yadav. Delhi will need to quickly rework their plans and get their best team in order if they are to go on a winning run. The hosts on the other hand are heavily dependent on their top order comprising Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, and Glenn Maxwell and early wickets usually initiate a collapse of the middle order. They have opted to use all-rounders in the middle order with Shahbaz Ahmed and Michael Bracewell fulfilling responsibilities with the bat along with offering spin options. Wanindu Hasaranga has arrived at their camp and he looks likely to make it to the playing XI which strengthens their bowling department but Karn Sharma has filled the Sri Lankan spinner's boots well enough. Mohammed Siraj has continued his form in white-ball cricket from last year and has the left-arm overseas pacers Wayne Parnell and Mustafizur Rahman for company. Harshal Patel has proved to be far too expensive in the three games but he does have the knack of picking up crucial wickets. They will need to get all aspects of their game to click and will want to return to winning ways by condemning their opponents to further misery. This is a ground that is known to favour the batters, especially with the short boundaries coming into the equation and we expect this to be yet another high-scoring affair. Will Delhi end their losing streak and pick up their first win of the campaign? Or will Bangalore halt their run of two consecutive losses and bring their title quest back on track? We will find out soon.
