Temba Bavuma takes the silverware and his teammates join him in celebration. It has been a good series for South Africa in both Tests and ODIs. It was our pleasure to bring the action to all of you and we thank you for your company. We have plenty of cricket coming up in the next couple of months so make sure that you join us for the same. Cheers for now!

The winning skipper, Temba Bavuma, says that things got a bit crazy towards the end and they got a bit complacent. Adds that the series win is very satisfying and many people didn't think that they could win and they are happy to perform well against India. Praises Quinton de Kock for the way he played and says that he showed why he is such an asset for the team. Says that the batters have been great in the series and the bowlers have been good too. Mentions that winning against India in Tests and ODIs will do them a world of good. Finishes by saying that the Test series was probably the hardest series that he has been a part of and it was also a mental challenge for him so he is proud of how they played.

PLAYER OF THE MATCH AND PLAYER OF THE SERIES, Quinton de Kock says that it wasn't flat at all and it was a sort of wicket on which you're never set. He adds that the fact that he has scored heavily against India is because they generally play on good wickets. Mentions that they came here from Paarl, match ready and it was a long time since he last played an ODI and came into the series with not much preparation but is happy to perform the way he did. He adds that they have a great group of guys who look to joke around with each other and the atmosphere in the camp is quite good. Ends by joking that his daughter is calling out her mom and not him.

The losing captain, KL Rahul, says that Deepak Chahar gave them a chance to win but it is disappointing to lose this one. Adds that the batters have not done well in the series and at times their shot selection has been poor. Mentions that they had a decent series where they played well in patches but didn't put the pressure on the opposition for long periods. Says that they brought in a lot of energy but lacked in skill a bit. Adds that they have had a great time here in South Africa and thanks CSA for the way the tour was organized and executed. Finishes by saying that they will go back home with a lot of things learned and hopefully, emerge a stronger side.

... Presentation ceremony ...

This is what you call, 'so close, yet so far!' Midway through the innings, India looked to be breezing through the chase with Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli both notching up half-centuries but then came the slump. Rishabh Pant followed Dhawan back to the pavilion in no time and once Kohli fell, a few overs later, it was all but game over. Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav did put on a 39-run partnership but neither could take their team over the line. With well over 50 runs still required, it was Deepak Chahar who single-handedly brought the visitors back into the contest with a fiery 54-run knock. Unfortunately for him and frustratingly for India, his attempt to finish the game in style cost him his wicket and India still needed 10 runs. Jasprit Bumrah, who had given Chahar great support, too couldn't get the team over the line and they suffered a heartbreaking loss.

South Africa already had a good score on the board and they made it even tougher for their opponents when KL Rahul was dismissed early on. After that though, they found it difficult to find the breakthrough and were dominated by Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan. They were looking out of the contest midway through the second innings but then Andile Phehlukwayo came in and got rid of Shikhar Dhawan and Rishabh Pant in the same over. This turned the tables completely and the hosts got rid of a well-set Kohli soon after. They were put on the back foot once again by Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav but managed to get them out and looked on course for a 3-0 victory. The game looked done at that point but a storm by the name of Deepak Chahar came and it looked like the hosts were gone for all money. He got boundaries at the right point and it looked like India would get over. But his wicket in the 48th over gave South Africa a well-deserved win.

My word! What a riveting game of cricket we have just witnessed here! Well, it did go down to the wire and either team could have won it in the end but it was South Africa who held their nerve in the end and have managed to win the series 3-0. India slump down to yet another defeat and this one will surely hurt the most. India were down and out before that blinder of a knock by Deepak Chahar. He got them back on top but his wicket saw another collapse and they lost by the barest of margins!

OUT! TAKEN! IT IS ALL OVER! What a seesaw! India just cannot get a win here and Deepak Chahar is heartbroken! Short ball, on the body. Chahal decides to pull it away but gets the outside edge. The ball goes high in the air to cover. David Miller takes an easy catch and South Africa win by 4 runs! They win the series 3-0! What a game of cricket! A pure entertainer!

49.11

On a length, around off. Krishna taps it towards short third man for one. 5 from 5.

Now then. 6 from the last over. Dwaine Pretorius has been trusted by his skipper to bowl the final over. Also, Quinton de Kock is standing up to the stumps. Not sure if that's the best tactic incase of an outside edge.

Commentary

We are back for the chase! KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan are sitting near the ropes. The fielders are warming up on the field. Out come the openers and the fielders. Lungi Ngidi is going to start with the ball.

... The Run Chase ...

Right then! 288 is what India need to end the series with a win. The pitch is quite good to bat on and they would back themselves to chase it. But they need a couple of big stands and that has been a concern for them in the series. Will India chase it down or will South Africa's attack make lives difficult for the batters yet again? Stay with us to find out.

India had a good comeback with the ball. They took early wickets with Deepak Chahar striking at the start and there was also a run out. The spinners then troubled the South African batters a bit but didn't break the big stand in the middle overs. It was looking like they would have to chase a big total but they got back in the game by picking up regular wickets. Bumrah came back and got rid of de Kock and Chahal got the wicket of van der Dussen soon. They kept the intensity up after that and never let the South African middle order cut loose like they would have wanted to. Bumrah was the pick of the bowlers for his two wickets and Krishna too bowled well in the death overs while the rest of the bowlers had a decent game too.

For South Africa it was all about one partnership. They lost their top order quite early and were in some trouble at 70 for 3. Rassie van der Dussen and Quinton de Kock then stitched a lovely stand to get their side back on top. The pair added 144 runs for the fourth wicket with de Kock getting a brilliant ton and van der Dussen going past the half-century mark as well. They were well set and South Africa were 170 for 3 at the 30-over mark. They would have wanted to get a big score post that but losing both their set batters in consecutive overs cost them a lot. They lost a bunch of wickets after that and their charge was halted. David Miller did stitch a good stand with Dwaine Pretorius though to get them close to the 300-run mark but South Africa would be disappointed with their finish.

At the 30-over mark, South Africa would have been expecting a score beyond 320 probably. But India have done well after that to restrict them to a much lower score than that. Still, this remains a good score but nowhere close to what the hosts should have gotten.

49.5W

OUT! TAKEN! That's that and South Africa have been bowled out for 287! Prasidh Krishna goes for the slower one yet again and pitches this one right up, on off stump. Sisanda Magala makes room and looks to smash it over extra cover. Mangala gets no timing whatsoever on it and hits it straight towards KL Rahul at extra cover. The skipper takes a comfortable catch and that will be the end of the South African innings. Prasidh Krishna ends with 3 wickets.

49.40

A yorker, around off and Nigidi can do nothing about it.

Lungi Ngidi is the last batter.

49.3W

OUT! TAKEN! This is smart bowling from Prasidh Krishna and he picks up his second wicket. This is pushed well wide and is slower in pace. At this stage, Miller just has to go for the big shot and he looks to lift this one over the cover region. The ball comes off of the toe end of the bat and flies towards wide long off. Virat Kohli settles under it and takes a calm catch, right on the ropes. India have pulled things back well in the final overs.

49.20

Shorter in length, at the body. Miller looks to pull but takes his eyes off the ball. The ball goes off his arm and towards point.

49.14

FOUR! Full and very wide, slower too. David Miller throws his hands at it and manages to slice it over backward point for a boundary.

Sisanda Magala is the new man in.

48.5W

OUT! TAKEN! Jasprit Bumrah is just too good at the death and we can see why. Bumrah goes full and wide but takes the pace off the ball. The ball is taken away from Keshav Maharaj's hitting arc and he is forced to fetch it. And fetch it he does. Maharaj drags this one and lifts it straight back over the bowler's head. Virat Kohli moves to his left from long on and takes an assured catch.

48.41

Brilliant bowling! Miller tries to unsettle Bumrah as he moves inside the crease. Bumrah though fires in a yorker at the toes, at 141 kph. Miller just about jams it out on the leg side and picks up a single.

48.31

Slower one, pushed wider. Maharaj drags it from outside off and heaves it towards wide long on for a single.

48.20

Swing and a miss! Full and wide, it was in the slot a bit. Maharaj moves leg side and throws his hands at it but isn't able to make a connection.

48.11

47.51

Full and wide, Maharaj steps out and creams it through cover but will get just one for it.

47.44

FOUR! Not sure what Keshav Maharaj was looking to go that fine but it has brought him a boundary. Good-length ball, outside off and there's pace behind this one. Maharaj just waits for it and the last moment opens the face off the bat. The ball races away into the third man fence.

47.31

Krishna sees Miller advancing and bowls it short, at the body. Miller manages to pull it towards deep square leg and collects a run.

Keshav Maharaj is the next batter.

47.2W

OUT! CAUGHT! The change of pace has worked for Prasidh Krishna. Slower one, fuller in length and on the stumps. Dwaine Pretorius doesn't pick it up and looks to heave it on the leg side. He is way too early in his shot and ends up just lifting it towards deep mid-wicket. Suryakumar Yadav takes an easy catch over there but Pretorius will feel he has done his job.

47.11

Krishna hurls across a full toss, on the body. Miller gets cramped for room and only manages to work it away towards deep square leg. They get a single.

Back of a length, outside off. Pretorius taps it towards cover for one.

46.40

Pretorius had no idea about that one though. Another slower one, into the pitch and outside off. Pretorius hops and looks to pull but the ball goes well beneath his bat.

46.34

FOUR! Crunched! Slower one, on a length and bowled wider. Dwaine Pretorius stands back and just slaps it through extra cover for a boundary.

OUT! RUN OUT! India get another one and Andile Phehlukwayo has to walk back! Flatter, on the body. Miller turns it towards mid-wicket. Andile Phehlukwayo is a bit hesitant at first but goes for the single. Shreyas Iyer though is not late in getting to the ball. He pounces on it and throws it to Rishabh Pant, who whips the bails off. Andile Phehlukwayo puts in a dive and the TV umpire is called but he feels that he is out. Yup, the replay confirms that despite the dive, Andile Phehlukwayo is well short.

Is that a run out? Phehlukwayo sure looks concerned. The umpires have taken it upstairs and the replay shows that Phehlukwayo was a few inches short when Pant whipped off the bails. The decision on the big screen is OUT and India right on top of proceedings here.

The visitors seem convinced and it is reviewed. No bat was involved and Ball Tracker shows that the ball was just about clipping the top of leg stump. Miller survives on umpire's call and they get a leg bye.

DRINKS! South Africa lose their third wicket and the umpires call for a Drinks break. The visitors have been on top here and Deepak Chahar, who does well in Powerplay 1, has done so yet again. Giving him a long spell has worked and the hosts are in a spot of bother. The players from South Africa are seen taking the knee to show their support for the BLM movement. Deepak Chahar has the new ball in hand and is raring to go...

We are minutes away from play! The two teams are in the middle and are ready for their respective National Anthems. It's going to be the national anthem of India first, followed by the national anthem of South Africa.

PITCH REPORT - Dale Steyn says that there are a few sticky patches just like KL Rahul mentioned and with two new balls, the Indian pacers will look to get early breakthroughs. He adds that it is very hot in Cape Town today and it will get easy for the batters if they are able to fend off the new ball.

Temba Bavuma, the skipper of South Africa, says that Dwaine Pretorius is in for Tabraiz Shamsi. Adds that it is very important that they don't drop their intensity and keep pushing their standard higher and higher. Says that the change in venue is a different challenge as batting in the first few overs might be difficult. Confesses that he doesn't really know what a winning total might look like here but anything over 300 should be good.

KL Rahul, the Indian skipper, says they will have a bowl first because the wicket feels a bit sticky and they will try and get a few early wickets. He adds that they value each result and work hard as a team to win every match and the boys do work really hard which makes things easy as a captain. He also mentions that they will look to make use of the ball early on and win it with the bat later on. Adds that there are a few things that they need to fix and a few things to get better at as individuals. Informs that there are four changes to the team today.

India (Playing XI) - KL Rahul (C), Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant (WK), Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav (In for Venkatesh Iyer), Jayant Yadav (In for Ravichandran Ashwin), Deepak Chahar (In for Shardul Thakur), Jasprit Bumrah, Yuzvendra Chahal, Prasidh Krishna (In for Bhuvneshwar Kumar).

South Africa (Playing XI) - Quinton de Kock (WK), Janneman Malan, Aiden Markram, Temba Bavuma (C), Rassie van der Dussen, David Miller, Andile Phehlukwayo, Dwaine Pretorius (In for Tabraiz Shamsi), Keshav Maharaj, Sisanda Magala, Lungi Ngidi.

Toss - Both the skippers are out in the middle and Temba Bavuma flips the coin. It lands in favour of India and they will BOWL first!

Well, not a lot of people expected the hosts to be so dominant against a side of India's stature, in spite of how depleted the visitors might be, but boy, the Proteas have been brilliant. They have managed to keep the Indian batters at bay in both the games and with the bat, they have just been excellent. The top order might have failed in the first match but both, Malan and de Kock were just sensational in the second match. And just like the first match, their middle order played sensibly and saw their team through in what was a comfortable win. There might be changes in both camps today but the hosts will sure look to get another win under their belt to inflict a clean sweep. But expect India to play without pressure and that might help them quite a bit. So, will South Africa be able to make it 3-0? Or will India end the tour with a consolation win? We'll find out soon. Toss and team news in a bit.

The second ODI panned out pretty much the same way as the first ODI and the visitors were found wanting yet again. India have not been able to control the match on the whole and they need more passages of positive play. The batting has been patchy and even though, a couple of players have managed to play well, the lack of big partnerships up the order has hurt them. Thakur has certainly been a positive down the order and Pant has shown his worth as well. The bowling though has been an even bigger letdown and they haven't been able to control the middle overs at all. They need a big performance with the ball today if they are to win this match.

Hello and a warm welcome to the third and final ODI of the three-match series between South Africa and India at the Newlands in Cape Town. The hosts have already wrapped up the series and will be looking for a clean sweep here. India, on the other hand, will be looking to end a disappointing series with a win. This might be a dead rubber but when you are playing for your country, there is always plenty at stake.

... Match Day ...
