Right then, that's it from the coverage of this game. The action in the Indian T20 League continues as match number 59 which sees a crunch contest between Punjab and Delhi, has already started. So, do switch tabs to follow a riveting game of cricket.

Prerak Mankad is adjudged the Player of the Match for his unbeaten winning knock. Says that it was an important game for them and adds that he was not happy initially as he missed out on many boundary deliveries. Tells that before the death overs, he found it tough to connect. He thanks the team management for giving him the opportunity and shares that he has played a lot on these types of pitches. States that he backed himself and his skills and also lauds the batting efforts of Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran.

Krunal Pandya, the captain of Lucknow is in for a chat. He feels that the way Hyderabad were going, they should've gotten 200 on the board and is glad about how they pulled things back. Credits Avesh Khan and Yash Thakur for their incredible death bowling. Tells that anything can happen at this level, but all they needed was belief. Tells that Pooran can do special things and he showed us some glimpses. Adds that it is not easy to come in and perform, but Prerak Mankad showed a lot of character and he is really happy for the youngster.

Stay tuned for the presentation...

Nicholas Pooran is in for a chat. He says that the talk at break was to go for sixes and it paid off targetting the first two balls. Adds that those sixes got his innings going and feels it was important to target the 6th bowler. Reckons that there is no reward if you don't take risks. Ends by saying that he tries to have an impact and execute his skills.

Aiden Markram, the skipper of Hyderabad, says that it was a decent score and feels that 180 was par. Mentions that they batted well but lacked a partnership which could have got them to over 200. Shares that the wicket got slower and adds that pressure is an interesting thing. Reckons that Glenn Phillips bowled well and feels that it would have not been a good option to bowl himself against right-handed batters.

Earlier in the game, Heinrich Klaasen was the key for the Hyderabad innings, this has been the case all season so far. After he slipped out, Abdul Samad added some valuable run down the order to get the hosts over the 180-run mark, although it just proved to be a convenient chase for Lucknow.

Aiden Markram had the decision to make and he missed a trick by sticking with his part-time bowler in Abhishek Sharma for the 16th over. Even though Sharma got rid of Stoinis, he was taken to the cleaners after that, as he ended up conceding 31 runs, which certainly was the game-changer of this game. Thereafter, Lucknow were all over their opposition and in the end got over the line convincingly. Hyderabad started brilliantly with the new ball, and the fielders were on top of their game as well. A slight lapse in concentration took the game away from them. Hats off to Prerak Mankad who smacked a half-century for Lucknow, after coming into the side for Hooda, he has certainly stomped his authority here.

This was the only chance for Hyderabad to leapfrog in the points table, although they could not grab the opportunity with both hands. Credit to Lucknow though, despite losing Kyle Mayers cheaply and getting off to a really slow start. At the end of 8 overs, Lucknow had just 50 runs on board. Quinton de Kock and Prerak Mankad both the batters took their time to get their eye-in, Quinton de Kock though could not continue for long. Prerak Mankad joined forces with Stoinis and their stand of 73 runs certainly kept their side in the hunt. After 15 over, Lucknow were teetering at 114/2, although it was the very next over which turned the scenario of the game completely.

Phew! What a win for Lucknow. A statement victory for the visitors. Everyone must've written off Lucknow when they were at the cusp of death overs, although, that's when Nicholas Pooran came in and turned the game on its head. Hyderabad have only themselves to blame here. They were in cruise control throughout the innings but could not put the final nail in the coffin.

19.24

FOUR! THAT'S IT!  Nicholas Pooran finishes things off in style! Fazalhaq Farooqi goes full and sliding down leg, Nicholas Pooran flicks this one wide of short fine leg for four runs. He is all smiles and so are his teammates in the dugout. Lucknow win by 7 wickets!

19.12

Commentary

We are back for Lucknow's reply. The Hyderabad players are seen in a huddle near the ropes. The two Lucknow openers make their way out to the middle followed by the Hyderabad players.

... THE RUN CHASE ...

Right then, Hyderabad will feel that they are slightly ahead in the game at the halfway mark. They have posted what looks like an above-par total and the onus is now on their spinners to work their magic. On the other hand, Lucknow will take the positive that they have managed to keep Hyderabad under 200. Having said that, their batters have their work cut out on this spinning surface. Stick around as the chase is not far away...

Heinrich Klaasen is in for a chat. He mentions the wicket changed quickly in the middle. Adds that it is starting to turn a little bit. Reckons that the bowlers should mantain their length, and not bowl too full. Informs that the wicket is on the slower side but hopes that the natural variation can do its trick. Tells that he is disappointed with the crowd. Also says that the umpiring decisions were not too great as well, but that is part and parcel of the game.

For Lucknow, Yudhvir Singh was the given new ball and he repaid the skipper's faith in him by accounting for Abhishek Sharma. However, the rest of the bowling unit was unable to capitalise on that early scalp. They did pull things back by chipping in with wickets at regular intervals. Despite having Hyderabad 5 wickets down, they let it slip and allowed the hosts to rebuild the innings and now have a tricky total to chase. Krunal Pandya was the pick of the bowlers for his side with figures of 2 for 24 from his four overs.

A decent end to the innings for Hyderabad and they have ended with a challenging total on the board! After Aiden Markram won the toss and opted to put runs on the board, Hyderabad lost Abhishek Sharma early but Anmolpreet Singh and Rahul Tripathi got them off to a flier. From 61-1, Hyderabad were soon reduced to 115-5. Abdul Samad and Heinrich Klaasen then got together and resurrected the innings with a counter-attacking 58-run stand. The latter was dismissed towards the end but Samad batted through to help his side cross the 180-run mark.

A couple to end the inning! Yash Thakur serves a full toss, on the body. Bhuvneshwar Kumar whips it to deep mid-wicket. The batters push hard for two runs and make it safely. Hyderabad end with 182/6.

19.51

Fuller, on leg. Samad clips it through square leg for one.

19.46

SIX! Back of a length, on off. Samad swivels and pulls it way over mid-wicket for a biggie.

19.30

Full and on off. Samad is unable to work it away.

19.20

Superb variation by Thakur. A slower bumper, wide of off. Samad tries to chase it away but misses. Abdul Samad thinks it should be a wide due to height and takes it upstairs. The replays confirm that Samad hops inside the crease and this remains as a fair delivery.

19.10

Length, on off, blocked out solidly.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar comes out to bat now. It will be Yash Thakur to bowl the final over.

OUT! CAUGHT! Solid catch in the deep. A full toss, on off. Heinrich Klaasen smokes it down the park. Flat and hard, although he does not get the desired distance on it. Prerak Mankad takes a sharp catch near the ropes. The halt migh've killed the momentum for Klaasen.

18.50

A wide yorker, on the money. Heinrich Klaasen tries to slash at it but misses.

Halt! Seems like things out in the middle have heated up after that overturned decision. Live pictures show that the Lucknow dugout is unhappy with what looks like a crowd issue. The players and support staff have taken their seats and the play will resume now.

18.44

FOUR! Edgy! Back of a length, on off. Heinrich Klaasen goes for the pull shot. It catches the top-edge and flies down to thrid man. One bounce and over the ropes.

18.31

The crowd has certainly got back to life. Avesh Khan cannot nail his yorker, it in fact comes out as a high full toss. Samad whips it behind square of the leg side. Krunal Pandya challenges the decision and fortunately it goes his way. No Free Hit coming up. They only get a single off it,

Halt! Seems like the ball has been lost and the umpires have asked for a replacement. The fourth umpire brings out a set of balls for the on-field umpires to choose from.

18.26

SIX! ALL THE WAY! A full toss, outside off. Samad stands tall and smacks it through the line. Samad ends up middling it and the ball flies over the long on fence.

SIX! So, the message during the break is certainly clear! ATTACK, ATTACK! Prerak Mankad dances down the track to this full ball, gets to the pitch of it and smokes it over the long on fence for a biggie.

Strategic break! With 94 runs needed from 42 balls, it is a case of now or never for Lucknow. They will be hoping that this previous 14-run over will help them get a move and take the game deep. As far as the hosts are concerned, their spinners and pacers have done to keep the runs in check. Having said that, they cannot afford to be complacent and must not allow the opposition batters to release the pressure. An exciting final passage of play awaits us.

Glenn Phillips was able to break the opening stand, but since then Hyderabad haven't created any real opportunity. Lucknow have incredible depth with the bat, Mankad remains at the crease.

The match is set to begin. The Lucknow players make their way out on the field. Followed by the opening pair of Hyderabad, Abhishek Sharma and Anmolpreet Singh. It will be Yudhvir Singh to start with the new ball. Here we go...

Krunal Pandya, the stand-in skipper of Lucknow is in for a chat. He says that they would've batted first as well. Mentions that it has been a slightly up and down season for them, but it is all about playing the best games from hereon. Adds that they have a couple of changes to their side.

Aiden Markram, the skipper of Hyderabad, says that they will bat first. Adds that it is pretty good and feels that it is slightly on the drier side. Mentions that they will look to put a good total and put the scoreboard pressure. Reckons that it is all about balance and what is working for the team. Feels that in day games the wicket does not change much and it is about delivering the skills on the day. States they are in a position where they need to win every game and hopes that it brings out the best of them. Ends by informing that there are no injuries in the team and Sanvir Singh makes his debut.

Impact players for Lucknow - Swapnil Singh, Daniel Sams, Ayush Badoni, Deepak Hooda, Arpit Guleria.

Lucknow (Playing XI) - Kyle Mayers, Quinton de Kock (WK), Krunal Pandya (C), Prerak Mankad (In for Deepak Hooda), Marcus Stoinis, Nicholas Pooran, Amit Mishra (In for Swapnil Singh), Yash Thakur, Ravi Bishnoi, Yudhvir Singh (In for Mohsin Khan), Avesh Khan.

Impact players for Hyderabad - Vivrant Sharma, Sanvir Singh, Mayank Dagar, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Marco Jansen.

Hyderabad (Playing XI) - Anmolpreet Singh (In for Vivrant Sharma), Abhishek Sharma, Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram (C), Heinrich Klaasen (WK), Glenn Phillips, Abdul Samad, T Natarajan, Mayank Markande, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Fazalhaq Farooqi (In for Marco Jansen).

TOSS - The coin goes up and lands in favour of Hyderabad. Aiden Markram informs that they will BAT first.

PITCH REPORT - Mpumelelo Mbangwa and Matthew Hayden are pitchside. Mbangwa starts by informing that straight boundaries are longer than square ones. Hayden shares that the moisture will drain out due to the hot weather and adds that the wicket is dry but there is no movement in the cracks. Mentions that the wicket is flat and hard and reckons that the score would be somewhere around 170-180. Mbangwa ends by saying that the team winning the toss should look to bat first and put a good score on the board.

On the flip side, Lucknow suffered a defeat in their last outing and would want to return to winning ways. Despite the two losses from three games, they are better placed as far as qualification for the playoffs is concerned. The openers were the stars with the bat in the last game, and other batters will be expected to bat around them. With the ball,  the spinners have been the major contributors and will have their work cut out in this game. Who are you backing to claim the two points in this game? Don't go anywhere as the toss and team news is coming up shortly...

The hosts, Hyderabad, find themselves in a position where every game is a virtual knockout for them. The positive for them is that they are coming off a win and will look to continue the winning momentum. Aiden Markram and Co. have lacked consistency in the batting department and would want to improve on that aspect in this important clash. Despite batting not clicking, bowlers have stepped up and will need to bring their A-game against Lucknow.

Hello and a warm welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to our coverage of match number 58 of the 2023 Indian T20 League, where Hyderabad take on Lucknow at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. It is going to be a clash of teams placed 5th and 9th in the standings, and neither side would want to lose out on two points, which can hamper their qualification chances.

... MATCH DAY ...

As we approach the tail-end of the 16th edition of the Indian T20 League, it is time we acknowledge this competition as one of the most exciting T20 leagues in the world. With most teams having just a handful of games left to play, it is interesting to note that all teams have a mathematical chance of qualifying for the playoffs which has built up the anticipation for the closing phase of the group stages. Every game from this point onwards will hold massive weight in the context of the table as we will see some teams leapfrog their opponents to a position of strength while others will watch their title hopes vanish with every defeat. We focus our attention on a match-up between two sides that will be desperate to register a crucial win as Hyderabad play hosts to Lucknow at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium and this is bound to be a mouth-watering clash. The hosts have played the least number of games so far and still have four games in hand which keeps them in the hunt despite having just 8 points under their belt. However, top teams in the world will assure you that points on the board are much more valuable than games in hand and the pressure is on Hyderabad to go on a mesmerizing run by winning their remaining games in the quest for the title. They registered a morale-boosting last-ball victory against Rajasthan in the previous fixture having chased down a target that was well over the 200-run mark albeit with some good fortune. Lucknow looked destined for the top four with 5 wins in their first 8 games but one point in their last three has got them into a scuffle with the chasing pack. What will worry them more is the manner of their last two defeats as they failed to chase down a really low target against Bangalore at home followed by a crushing defeat against the reigning champions on the road. The injury to their regular captain KL Rahul has been a major blow for the visitors as they look to fulfill the void at the top of the order with the inclusion of Quinton de Kock. He forms an opening partnership with Kyle Mayers and they use Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran as the remaining overseas options, with both having contributed heavily with the bat. This has resulted in Naveen-ul-Haq being ousted from the team and they have to turn to their homegrown talent to fill their bowling contingent. Krunal Pandya, who will lead the side for the rest of the competition, along with Ravi Bishnoi will be carrying out the bulk of the spin bowling duties while Avesh Khan, Mohsin Khan, and Yash Thakur should most likely be used as the pace-bowling trio. The hosts have not been able to get a settled opening combination and are still figuring out their best options. Anmolpreet Singh replaced Mayank Agarwal in the last match but Abhishek Sharma has been the only one who has looked comfortable facing the new ball. Their strength lies in the middle order where Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram, Heinrich Klaasen, and Glenn Phillips provide them with the much-needed stability but if they have an off day, they will find very little support from the lower-order batters. Their pace bowling unit is well-loaded with the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Marco Jansen, and T Natarajan putting on a good show, and have managed to keep Umran Malik and Fazalhaq Farooqi on the bench. The two sides faced each other earlier in the season at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow and Hyderabad's poor batting effort cost them that game but will be eager to exact revenge in front of their home crowd. A loss could be devastating for either side and with so much on the line, this is bound to be a cracker of a game. Which team will you be supporting?
