Right then, that's it from the coverage of this game. The action in the 16th edition of the Indian T20 League will be coming thick and fast as we approach yet another weekend of the closing phase of the group stages. We have an enthralling encounter awaiting us on Friday 19th May as Punjab host Rajasthan at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala. The first ball will be at 7.30 pm IST (2 pm GMT), but you can join us early for the build-up. Until then, goodbye and cheers!

Virat Kohli is the Player of the Match for his remarkable century. He says that it was quite special especially because of where they are on the points table and the magnitude of the game. Feels that Hyderabad had a good score on the board as the ball was gripping in the middle. Mentions that Faf du Plessis has been on a different level for some time now but he had a few quiet games. Explains that the way he was striking the ball in the nets is not how he was playing out in the middle and knew that he had to pick up his game at the right time.Claims that he never looks at the numbers and says that people say he is not a good Indian T20 League player but this is his sixth hundred in the competition. Adds that he does not give himself enough credit but he does not at what people say. Informs that he does not try fancy shots as he has to play 12 months in a year and he does not like throwing his wicket away. Goes on to say that he tries to stay true to his techniques and they have a Test match coming up so he wants to give everything for himself and the team. Jokes that it is probably the tattoos that make him and Faf du Plessis close and they have almost 900 runs together this season. Tells that it is like the way it was when AB de Villiers and he batted together and they pump each other up as well as give feedback which helps as he is an experienced guy captaining at the highest level. Reckons that he is blessed and grateful for having the crowd support him and he told Faf that it felt like a home game for them. Adds that they were cheering for them and you cannot create this as it is not possible to force someone to follow you so just perform and be in a great position to be able to put a smile on people's faces. Ends by thanking the fans for their support.

Faf du Plessis, the skipper of Bangalore says that it was an amazing chase and adds that they felt that the wicket was very good to bat and 200 was probably a par score as the ball did not turn much for the spinners. Tells that they are playing well and from a batting perspective they were clinical. Tells that he and Virat Kohli complement each other very well as they play their shots in different areas so it is difficult for the bowlers. Mentions that they are good friends on and off the field. Tells that it is great to go back to the Chinnaswamy for their final match and the atmosphere will be amazing for another must-win game for them.

Time for the presentations...

Glenn Maxwell is up for a quick chat. He says that it has been a long time on the road for them and they knew that it going to be this way. Tells that Heinrich Klaasen’s knock was sensational and applauds the shots he played over covers in the Powerplay but adds that it also showed them that the wicket was good to bat on. He credits Mohammed Siraj and Wayne Parnell for the way they bowled and felt that they were probably one seamer short but applauded the guys for bowling well. States that Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis know what to do when they are chasing and they knew whom to attack. He mentions that it is a great time for them to go back to Bangalore for their final league game against table-toppers.

Aiden Markram, the captain of Hyderabad says that they batted pretty well and they probably could have got a few more runs out there in the Powerplay. Adds that Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis played well but felt that they still had a good total on the board. He appreciates the crowd as well for supporting them throughout the season. Mentions that they wanted to go away with a win and a smile and they hate losing but credits Bangalore for the way they played. Tells that they had a look at the guys in this game and he feels that it is also important going forward. Applauds Nitish Kumar Reddy for the way he bowled and felt that his figures don’t suggest the way he bowled. He signs off by praising Heinrich Klaasen for his brilliant century.

Time for some interviews...

Hyderabad would have been mighty pleased with their batting effort at the halfway stage as they posted a reasonable total courtesy of a century by Heinrich Klaasen. They would have expected their bowlers to do a job and defend this target but they failed as they have found it difficult to get a complete team effort. Michael Bracewell did the early damage with the ball taking two wickets in one over with Mohammed Siraj, Shahbaz Ahmed, and Harshal Patel chipping in with a wicket each. They did really well in the death overs to kill the momentum in the Hyderabad innings before Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis made a mockery of the run chase. Glenn Maxwell and Michael Bracewell added the finishing touch to their inning in the run chase.

Bangalore came out to bat with positive intent and were off to a rollicking start as Virat Kohli made his intentions clear with two cracking boundaries on the first two deliveries. Faf du Plessis played the role of an anchor initially but soon got into the act as the openers posted 64 runs in the Powerplay. They controlled the middle overs beautifully and did not allow the required rate to rise at any point in time. They both reached their half-centuries in the same over as they put on yet another 100-run stand. Virat picked up the scoring rate after reaching his fifty as they put on the highest partnership for any wicket in this edition of the Indian T20 League adding 172 runs together in 108 deliveries. The Indian superstar reached his sixth century in this competition equalling a certain Christopher Henry Gayle before losing his wicket.

Aiden Markram mentioned in the toss that his team's strength was their bowling but they did not have a good day in the office. They started on the back foot straight away and conceded far too many boundary deliveries in the first six overs. They lacked the cutting edge and were unable to get wickets early as the Bangalore openers took them to task. They eventually dismissed both the batters in the death overs with Bhuvneshwar Kumar and T Natarajan chipping in with a wicket each but they were well behind the game at that point. They will need to rework their plans and apply them in their last fixture so they have some direction to aim for ahead of the next season.

What a statement win this by Bangalore and it has been that man Virat Kohli who has stamped his authority on this game! How often do we see two centuries in one game? It has happened for the first time in the history of the Indian T20 League that two players from opposite teams have scored a hundred in the same game and this match was an absolute crowd-pleaser. Bangalore move up to fourth position with this comprehensive 8-wicket win and have a playoff spot in hand with one game left to play. Hyderabad have been unable to get a consolation win here and their competition seems to be going from bad to worse.

17.22

Two taken, good running! Bowls a yorker on middle and leg. Kohli pushes it to long on with soft hands and the batters steal two. Faf du Plessis though would have been gone had the fielder at long on got his throw right at the non-striker's end.

Commentary

Welcome back to the run-chase! The Hyderabad players are in the huddle and they disperse now to take their respective positions. Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis are the openers for Bangalore. T Natarajan comes in as an Impact Player for Abdul Samad. Bhuvneshwar Kumar to start with the ball. Here we go...

... THE RUN CHASE …

Right then, Hyderabad have a good score on the board and the teams have successfully defended targets on this ground. So, the Orange Army would be backing themselves to notch up a victory here. Bangalore though have quality players and we might well be in for a thrilling chase. Stay tuned.

Henrich Klaasen is down for a quick chat. He says it is a pretty special feeling. Adds that the crowd has been amazing throughout so he is glad to put on a show for them. Mentions that the ball is stopping and turning for the spinners and not bouncing for the pacers so the wicket is playing slower than they expected. Claims that he is trying to keep it simple by looking for some flow and with the ball slowing down, he tried to keep his head steady. Ends by saying that Bangalore have a strong batting unit but they hope to get a couple of quick wickets and put pressure on them.

Bangalore, well, they started on a disciplined note and then Bracewell got two wickets in his very first over inside the Powerplay to put Bangalore right on top. They would have hoped to keep things in control from thereon but Heinrich Klaasen was too good for them. Shahbaz Ahmed got the wicket of Markram and Siraj bowled really well and it was his last over that restricted Hyderabad under 190.

Hyderabad started off on a decent note with a new opening partnership of Abhishek Sharma and Tripathi. However, both of them lost their wickets in the fifth over and Klaasen took over the mantle from thereon. He played some breathtaking shots, especially against spinners and never let Bangalore spinners settle. Markram stayed with Klaasen for some time and then Brook joined him and hit a few lusty blows but all credit goes to Klaasen for taking his side to a big total on a slowish deck.

Brilliant last over from Siraj! However, Hyderabad have got to a good total here and once again, Klaasen is the man who has delivered for them. He got to his maiden Indian T20 League century and has now put his team ahead going into the second half with spin likely to play a big part.

OUT! CAUGHT! Mohammed Siraj has bowled a remarkable last over and has helped Bangalore wrench back the momentum as they walk to the shed for a break! He has been rewarded with a wicket for a remarkable spell of 4 overs where he has conceded just 17 runs. He bangs this in short and at the bowler. Glenn Phillips gets inside the line of the ball and looks to pull this over the boundary but does not get the distance. He hits this high towards deep backward square leg and Wayne Parnell takes a well-judged catch in the deep. Just four runs and a wicket in the last over!

19.50

Bowls this full and into the pads. Glenn Phillips looks to swat this into the leg side but misses. The ball rolls back onto the pitch and Mohammed Siraj has an opportunity to take a run out at the striker's end but misses.

A slower bowl served as a full toss and at the stumps. Heinrich Klaasen walks down the wicket and early into the shot. He misses and sees his stumps shattered but gets applause from the bowler and the fielders as well. Hyderabad have lost their furth wicket and would have liked to see Heinrich Klaasen get them beyond the 200-run mark.

Strategic break! Bangalore have started this run chase in a dominating manner as their openers have made the most of the Powerplay with some clean hitting. Both the batters have gotten off to good starts and will like to build on this partnership which Hyderabad will be desperate to break. None of their bowlers seem to have found any sort of discipline and barring the misjudged attempt by Glenn Phillips, they have not been able to find any joy. They need a few wickets in a cluster to put pressure on Bangalore's feeble middle order and they now turn to debutant Nitish Kumar Reddy for a breakthrough.

We are all set for the game to begin as the umpires make their way out to the middle. The Bangalore players walk onto the field to take their respective fielding positions. Abhishek Sharma and Rahul Tripathi will open the inning for Hyderabad. Mohammed Siraj has the new ball in his hand and will begin proceedings. Let's play...

Aiden Markram, the skipper of Hyderabad says that he is happy as they would have looked to bat first if they had won the toss. Adds that their bowlers have been their strength and they would like to put a good total on the board and allow them to come into play in the second inning. Informs there are a couple of changes as Harry Brook and Kartik Tyagi come into the side. Mentions that he is not sure what is up with Umran Malik but he definitely has the X factor as he can consistently bowl at the 150 kph mark. Ends by saying that there is lots of pride to play for in the remaining two games and it is an opportunity for them to show their ability so need a bit of determination from their side.

Faf du Plessis, the captain of Bangalore says that they will have a bowl first and adds that there has been a bit of dew in the last few games. Mentions that the pitch is a bit on the drier side but he hopes they can bat well with the dew coming in later. Informs that they have the same team. Talks about Wanindu Hasaranga and says that he has a bit of niggle and is not 100 percent and Michael Bracewell strengthens their batting as well. States that they need to start fresh and do the basics right.

Impact Players for Bangalore - Dinesh Karthik, Vyshak Vijay Kumar, Himanshu Sharma, Suyash Prabhudessai, Kedar Jadhav.

Bangalore (Playing XI) - Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis (C), Michael Bracewell, Glenn Maxwell, Mahipal Lomror, Anuj Rawat (WK), Harshal Patel, Wayne Parnell, Shahbaz Ahmed, Karn Sharma, Mohammed Siraj.

Impact Players for Hyderabad - Mayank Markande, T Natarajan, Vivrant Sharma, Sanvir Singh, Akeal Hosein.

Hyderabad (Playing XI) - Abhishek Sharma, Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram (C), Heinrich Klaasen (WK), Harry Brook, Glenn Phillips, Abdul Samad, Kartik Tyagi, Mayank Dagar, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Nitish Kumar Reddy.

TOSS - The captains are out in the middle. The coin is flipped into the air and lands in favor of Bangalore. They have elected to BOWL first.

Pitch Report - Deep Dasgupta and Aaron Finch are down for the pitch report. Dasgupta says that it has been a high-scoring ground. Finch says that the pitch is on the drier side and there is not a blade of grass on the pitch. Adds that it has been watered but because of the hot weather it has cracked up a bit. Mentions that Powerplay is big for the batters in this game and he reckons that the captain that wins the toss should bat first. Dasgupta adds that it will turn a bit and dew might not play a big factor.

Bangalore, on the other hand, have blown hot and cold. They played a perfect game against Rajasthan in their last encounter but need to continue that momentum in this game. Virat Kohli started off the season brightly but his strike rate has been a bit of an issue while Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell are the ones who have delivered for them more often than not. Their Powerplay bowling has also been very good and a big performance here would strengthen their playoff chances massively. Can Hyderabad lift their game up and shatter the hopes of passionate Bangalore fans? Stay tuned for the toss and further updates.

This has been a tough season for Hyderabad. They came into it with high hopes and renewed squad but have failed to gell as a unit. Their big-ticket players, especially the batters, have not delivered consistently, which has cost them heavily. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mayank Markande have been good with the ball, but the knockout punch has been missing, which is something they would be looking to do in this game.

Hello and a very warm welcome, folks! We are in the final week of the league stage fixtures and every game now is crucial in terms of finalising the line-up for the playoffs. It will be Hyderabad going up against Bangalore today and it is a big game for Bangalore boys as they need to win it to strengthen their chances of a playoff berth. Hyderabad, on the other hand, are out of the playoffs race and would look to spoil Bangalore’s party and salvage some pride.
