Right then, that is it from this game where India goes ahead in the series and will look to wrap things up in the next one while Zimbabwe will want to level it. The penultimate T20I of this series will be played on 13th July, Saturday. It will begin at 4.30 pm IST (11 am GMT), but as you know, you can always join us early for all the build-up to the match. Until then, cheers and goodbye!

Shubman Gill, the victorious skipper of India says that it feels good to take the lead in the series. Adds that it was a crucial game for them and at one point, they were looking likely to get over 200. Tells that it was not easy to hit the length balls and that is the chat he and Ruturaj Gaikwad had in the middle. Ends by saying that they gave that message to the bowlers who bowled accordingly and got the job done.

Washington Sundar is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for another brilliant outing with the ball. Sundar says that it feels good to play for the country. Adds that it was a better wicket than the previous two games. Adds there was something in the surface for the bowlers. Says the way the Zimbabwe batters played toward the backend, it did put a bit of pressure on them. Appreciates Myers and Madande but also says they are happy to get over the line. Ends up by saying that he is hopeful to finish the series on a positive note.

Sikandar Raza, the captain of Zimbabwe says that the fielding cost them in this game and they conceded 20 odd runs extra. Adds that they still have their problems at the top but they back their players. Tells that they have tried 15 different opening pairs and there is a lot of cricket going around in the country, but the players need to back themselves as well. Mentions that he is an option to open, but they do not want to create new problems while solving another. Further adds that they will try to take the positives and come back strong in the next couple of games. Ends by saying that Blessing Muzarabani has been excellent for them and hopes that he continues in that fashion.

Presentation Time...

Avesh Khan is up for a quick chat. He says that he is delighted with his performance but says he always thinks of ways to improve. Says that he tells the skipper to not prefer any bowling slot for him and that he is always ready to bowl in any phase of the game. Further adds that he is always up for giving his best and picking quick wickets. Appreciates Shubman Gill and says that he's a bowler's captain. Says he gives them a lot of freedom and space. On being asked about Ravi Bishnoi, he appreciates that Bishnoi is not only a good bowler but an excellent fielder and he has taken a lot of blinders in the Indian T20 League too.

Earlier in the game, India posted a big total on a challenging surface courtesy of a brilliant fifty from skipper Shubman Gill and a couple of fiery knocks from Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad. Zimbabwe's bowling wasn't that great and sloppy fielding made things even worse for them. Blessing Muzarabani and Sikandar Raza picked up a couple of wickets each and they were the only spark in an otherwise lackluster bowling effort. While chasing, the host got off to the worst possible start, but the stand between Clive Madande and Dion Myers kept them in the game for a long time, but the target proved to be a bit too steep for them chase as they fell short by 23 runs.

India, on the other hand, will be pleased with their bowling effort. Avesh Khan and Khaleel Ahmed were brilliant with the new ball and picked up three quick wickets with one of them falling to a stunning catch from Ravi Bishnoi at point. However, it was Washington Sundar's spell that took the game away from the hosts in the middle overs. Firstly he got the big fish, Sikandar Raza, and then added a couple of more to his tally. As they played one bowler short, the four overs between Shivam Dube and Abhishek Sharma cost them 50 runs and put them under a bit of pressure. However, it was that two-run over from Khaleel that got them well ahead in the game. Avesh and Bishnoi went for a few at the death, but they had enough runs in their bank and got over the line.

After a good first over, it went downhill for Zimbabwe as they lost three wickets in quick succession in the Powerplay with not much on the board. Sikandar Raza came in and played a few lusty blows but perished soon after and Johnathan Campbell also failed to make much impact leaving them in a huge spot of bother. However, the duo of Dion Myers and Clive Madande rode that storm well and steadied the ship nicely with a mixture of aggression and smart cricket. They were able to target the part-timers and went into the slog overs well set. However, lack of experience showed when they were just not able to handle the pressure and failed to get the boundaries ultimately succumbing to the situation. The duo added 77 runs together but just did not have enough steam left in them in the end. However, Myers notched up his maiden T20I fifty and gave a little bit of a scare to the visitors but ended up on the losing side.

INDIA GO 2-1 UP IN THE SERIES! The margin of victory does not tell the full story here as Zimbabwe only have themselves to blame here. No doubt the Men in Blue were the better team, but the hosts will be ruing their dropped chances and misfields, otherwise, the story could have been a lot different as Dion Myers played a splendid knock towards the end that got them close.

A huge appeal for LBW but it is clearly going way down the leg side. As expected, 'No' says the umpire. However, just for the formalities' sake, Avesh sends it upstairs. Avesh spears in a yorker right on the base of the front boot. Myers tries to flick it away but misses. The ball pings on his boot and deflects before running down to deep fine. UltraEdge shows nothing but the Ball Tracking confirms that the ball and sliding down the leg side big time. NOT OUT. INDIA WIN BY 23 RUNS AND TAKE THE LEAD BY 2-1 IN THE SERIES.

FOUR! Dion Myers has played some really good strokes here! Surely one of the positives Zimbabwe will take it from this fixture. 19.44

FOUR! Just over short third and four more! Back of a length and outside off, Dion Myers hops on the bounce and slices it over the short third fielder for a boundary. Fortuitous though!

19.31

Over the wicket, a length ball on the leg stump. Masakadza flat bats it to mid-off for a quick single.

19.26

SIX! THAT HAS BEEN PUNISHED! Avesh bangs it hard, on the middle, Wellington Masakadza gets the desired length to pull it away. He sets a good base for himself by transferring the weight on the back foot and deposits into the stands behind deep mid-wicket for a six.

19.12

Full and at the stumps, Wellington Masakadza makes some room and heaves it to deep mid-wicket. A fumble there in the deep that allows them to cross for the double.

Commentary

We are back for Zimbabwe's reply! Out walk the two umpires followed by the two openers of Zimbabwe, Tadiwanashe Marumani and Wessly Madhevere. The latter will take the strike. He will face Khaleel Ahmed who is all in readiness with two slips in place to get the proceedings underway with the new ball for India. And, here we go...

... THE RUN CHASE ...

Right then, Zimbabwe has a daunting total to chase. Surely, sloppy fielding led to a chain reaction of dropped catches, but it is now time to do the needful with the bat. With India's in-form bowling unit, it won't be a cakewalk for the Chevrons. The batters have let them down in the first two games and will have to step up big time to keep their series win hopes alive. Stay tuned, the chase is up next shortly.

Yashasvi Jaiswal is up for a quick chat. He says that he enjoyed going out there and batting. Adds that the wicket is double-paced and some balls are coming and some are not. Mentions that it is a good total on this surface. Says that they are all champions and it was an incredible experience in Mumbai. Ends by saying that he is working hard on his bowling and hopes to roll his arms soon.

Zimbabwe really needed to snag some quick wickets to put a dent in India's power-packed and reinforced batting lineup. But their fielding let them down big time, and the bowlers? Well, they were dishing out some really juicy ones. The Indian batters didn't need a second invitation, they were all over those loose deliveries like a rash. However, Blessing Muzarabani and Sikandar Raza significantly pulled things back a bit and didn't concede any boundaries in those two overs. Raza finally struck gold in his next over, snagging the first wicket and giving Zimbabwe a much-needed breakthrough. Raza wasn't done yet - he sent Abhishek Sharma packing too, breathing new life into Zimbabwe's chances. But just when things were looking up, the fielding woes struck again. Tendai Chatara fumbled a golden opportunity, letting Gill off the hook. But Muzarabani did the trick to remove him eventually. Zimbabwe, however, couldn't close off nicely and conceded 55 runs in the last 5 overs.

Then came Ruturaj Gaikwad. He steadied the Indian innings after a couple of quick wickets. Gaikwad and Gill then played it smart through the middle overs. No risky shots, just smart cricket, keeping the scoreboard ticking with singles and doubles, and only pulling the trigger when the ball was right in their wheelhouse. They both notched a solid partnership of 72 runs and looked unbothered. Shubman Gill notched up a brilliant fifty and just when he looked to go bonkers, he eventually got out on 66. Gaikwad continued with his strokeplay middling every stroke he played. Sanju Samson then provided the finishing touches and helped India to post 182.

A good finish from Sanju Samson helps India breach past the 180 mark. Some might say that with around 8 wickets in hand till the 18th over, India should've crossed 200 but those couple of quick wickets of the well-settled Gill and Gaikwad, pulled them a bit. But overall, this is a challenging total with the cracks on the surface to offer good assistance to the spinners. India kicked things off with a bang, thanks to Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal. These two were on point, making the most of any sloppy bowling that came their way. Jaiswal, back after a break, looked like he'd never left, just effortlessly finding the boundary matching stroke for stroke alongside his captain. The run flow slowed down a bit in the following overs, and Yashasvi Jaiswal got itchy feet. He tried sticking to his attacking style. But this time, he fell prey to his own aggression. Abhishek Sharma couldn't wreak much damage this time and perished sooner.

FOUR! Sanju Samson ends the innings on a high! Blessing Muzarabani bowls this full and outside off, Sanju Samson stays leg side of the ball, reaches it nicely smacks it over extra covers for a boundary. India finishes on 182/4!

19.51

Short of a length and on middle, Rinku Singh mistimes his pull towards the mid-wicket region for one.

This has been a fine last over so far from Blessing Muzarabani. A wicket and just 6 runs. Rinku Singh comes in at number 6 with just a couple of deliveries to spare.

19.4W

OUT! TAKEN FINALLY! Blessing Muzarabani has his second! He pitches it up and outside off, Ruturaj Gaikwad has to reach for it and scythes it nicely, but it goes flat and in the air towards sweeper covers where Wessly Madhevere moves forward and holds on to the catch. Gaikward just misses out on his fifty but has played his part to put India in a strong position.

19.32

DROPPED AGAIN! This has been a disaster in terms of fielding for Zimbabwe in this game. Fuller and on middle, angling in, Ruturaj Gaikwad looks to slog it away but fails to get the distance on it, it goes miles in the air towards deep square leg, Tadiwanashe Marumani settles under it but spills it out. Luckily it does not go over the ropes and only two runs is conceded.

19.32wd

Goes fuller but down the leg side, Sanju Samson misses his flick, Clive Madande dives to his left and parries it to short fine. A bye is taken and it is called a wide!

19.21

Back of a length and well outside off, slower again, Ruturaj Gaikwad reaches for it and punches it towards deep point for a run.

19.11

In the air..safe! Blessing Muzarabani bowls a deceptive slower one, short and on off, Sanju Samson goes through his pull way early, mistimes it high in the air but it lands in front of deep mid-wicket. They cross.

A good over from India's perspective! 17 runs from the penultimate over. 180 looks within reach but surely India would love to get more than that. Blessing Muzarabani (3-0-14-1) to deliver the final over of the first inning. How much can he squeeze the Indian batters? Let's find out...

FOUR! 17 runs off the over! Richard Ngarava misses his mark again and bowls a low full toss this time outside off, Ruturaj Gaikwad opens the face of his bat, loses his bottom hand but manages to slice it away through point for a boundary now. 180 in sight for India now!

18.56

SIX! That's really a gift at this stage! Richard Ngarava tries the slower one but serves a juicy full toss, on middle, Ruturaj Gaikwad says thank you very much and dispatches it over the long on fence for a biggie.

18.41

Overpitched and on off, Sanju Samson drills it towards mid off for a quick single.

18.30

Well bowled! Richard Ngarava bangs in a quick and sharp bouncer, on middle, Sanju Samson backs away and tries to pull it away but fails to connect. He thinks it is a wide but the umpire signals one for the over.

18.22

A full toss, on middle, Sanju Samson flicks it nicely wide of deep mid-wicket for a couple of runs.

18.14

FOUR! Streaky but India won't mind that! Short of a length and on leg, Sanju Samson tries to pull it hard but gets a bottom edge that runs away past short fine for a boundary. Good start to the over!

Hard length and on middle, shaping in, Sanju Samson fails to work it away but misses, the ball deflects off his pads to the right of the keeper. A leg bye is taken.

A fine inning from the Indian skipper comes to an end! Who walks in next to bat? Sanju Samson strides out to the middle at number 5. India would expect an impactful inning from him for a stronger finish. Can India get to 180? With a lot of power hitters to follow, these two will surely try to fancy their chances now.

17.5W

OUT! TAKEN! Zimbabwe hold on to one now! Blessing Muzarabani gets his first wicket and sends back the Indian skipper. This is pitched up and around off, Shubman Gill looks to go over mid off, the shot is very much on but he just fails to get underneath the ball and slices it high in the air, Zimbabwe fans' hearts would have been in their mouth but it is their skipper Sikandar Raza who backtracks and pouches it safely. Gill goes back after an excellent knock!

17.41

Back of a length and around off, Ruturaj Gaikwad uses his feet and swats it towards long off for another run.

17.31

Slower one, full and on middle, Shubman Gill drills it down to long on for a run.

17.22

In the air...and lands in the safe zone! Pulls his length back does Blessing Muzarabani, short and on the off and middle, Shubman Gill clears his front leg and pulls it over the inner ring. The ball lands behind mid-wicket and the fielder sprints from deep mid-wicket to his left and makes a good stop. Two taken in the meantime.

17.11

Short of a length and outside off, Ruturaj Gaikwad slashes hard at it and gets a thick outside edge on the bounce to third man for a single.

Blessing Muzarabani (2-0-9-0) is back into the attack. He replaces Richard Ngarava.

New opening pair for India as Yashasvi Jaiswal partners Shubman Gill for this game. The hosts are going with spin straightaway as Brian Bennett has the new ball in hand. Let's play...

Brian Bennett is up for a chat as well. He says that it was a great first game and that put a lot of confidence in the team. Adds that obviously they lost the second one but they still have three games left in the series. Mentions that he is fine with batting at any position depending on the needs of the team. Tells that he got out playing a wrong shot in the last game and hopes to perform better here. Ends by saying that there have been a lot of learnings for him in the last couple of years and he is loving his cricket.

Shivam Dube is up for a flash interview. He says being part of the Indian cricket team is always special and being a part of the World Cup winning squad is a dream come true for him. Adds they have been waiting for a very long time for the trophy. Says this series is very important for him to improve and express himself in all departments of the sport. Says they have learned a lot of things from the seniors and they try to keep it simple and don't try to make too many changes.

Folks, while we wait for the toss here, the English Summer has already commenced with the Botham-Richards Trophy between England and the West Indies. The iconic Lord's Stadium is the host for the 1st Test of the three Tests. The legendary cricketer James Anderson, renowned for his remarkable tally of 700 Test wickets, is set to conclude his illustrious 22-year Test career after this match. This game marks the end of an era for one of cricket's greatest bowlers in the longest format. England has chosen to field first and the first inning is currently underway right now. You can simply switch the tabs and enjoy that coverage for a bit while we bring the toss in a bit.

India played a bowler short in the previous game and it is expected to be on similar lines now as well. But with Jaiswal coming in along with Samson and Dube too, available for selection, India might make some adjustments in the batting order. So one can expect a few changes and swaps in both lineups. Stick around for the toss and team updates.

Zimbabwe, on the other hand, finds itself in a precarious position. After their victory in the first T20I, they would have hoped to maintain that winning momentum. However, their batting woes, which were evident even in their win, have now been brutally exposed. The second game saw not only their batters struggle but also their bowlers taken to the cleaners. Zimbabwe now needs to regroup quickly and devise a smarter approach to the remaining games. While Brian Bennett has shown flashes of potential with the bat, he needs to convert his promising cameos into substantial scores. Moreover, the support needs to come from his fellow batters, who have largely given underwhelming returns. The return of Richard Ngarava remains a big question but there is a silver lining for the Chevrons in the form of their pace duo, Blessing Muzarabani and Tendai Chatara, who have performed admirably despite the tough conditions.

After getting humbled in the series opener, failing to chase down a target that was below run a ball, India reasserted their dominance and they did in some fashion. Beating any team by a margin of 100 runs is an exceptional achievement overall. The day belonged to Abhishek Sharma, who shook off the disappointment of a duck in the first match to deliver a blistering counter-attack. His sensational century was a masterclass in aggressive batting. And let's not overlook the gracious batting of Ruturaj Gaikwad coupled with Rinku Singh's quickfire range hitting. Overall, India’s batting and bowling both looked immensely improved, which came on the expected lines. The spin department of the Men in Blue continues its dominance and nothing less will be anticipated from them in the rest of games. On top of it, India has now been reinforced with the services of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson, and Shivam Dube for the rest of the tour, which makes Shubman Gill and Co. even more dangerous.

Cricket is a great leveler of sport, they say. And this series has proved it yet again. A quick turnaround between the first two games, we all saw stark differences in the performances of both sides. With things locked up at 1-1 in this 5-match T20I series, this particular game holds a pivot of who will lead the momentum ahead. Hello and a very warm welcome to our coverage of the 3rd T20I between Zimbabwe and India. We are at the Harare Sports Club, which continues to serve as the exclusive venue for this crucial series.

... MATCH DAY ...

With the series nicely poised at one game each, this 3rd T20I between Zimbabwe and the visiting Indian team at the Harare Sports Club in Harare marks a crucial juncture in this five-match series. After suffering an unexpected defeat in a low-scoring thriller in the first game, India made a strong comeback, securing a resounding victory by 100 runs to level the series. The Indian team will be thrilled to have three key players back from the T20 World Cup-winning squad with Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube back into the mix for the last 3 games. Their return presents a pleasant selection dilemma for skipper, Shubman Gill, especially after their dominating performance in the last game. On the other hand, Sikandar Raza's Zimbabwe team have struggled to find cohesion and will be eager to make a significant impact this time around to gain that all-important lead. The Indian team might see Yashasvi Jaiswal returning to the squad at the top of the order, potentially pushing the rest of the batting unit a step down the lineup. Sanju Samson is likely to take over the wicket-keeping duties, replacing Dhruv Jurel, who has performed admirably behind the stumps in the last couple of games. Shivam Dube's inclusion could be primarily due to his bowling capabilities, which provide the team with a better balance. Despite the final playing XI being an intriguing question to look out for, the Indian team will undoubtedly enter this game with confidence and momentum behind them with the batting unit looking sharp and bowlers hitting stride with precision. In contrast, Sikandar Raza will have a lot of onus on himself to lead the Zimbabwe side and put their best foot forward against this quality Indian team. Wessly Madhevere has looked good with the bat and will need support from the rest of the unit. Brian Bennett has gotten himself to good starts in both games but has given it away and will need to capitalize and make a significant impact. The bowling unit had a forgettable outing in the previous game and will be aiming to replicate their clinical performance from the first game which could be decisive. It is certain that this team has what it takes to stage yet another upset, making this another enticing game that could potentially decide the direction of the series. Who are you backing to get over the line this time? We shall very soon find out!
