West Indies beat Zimbabwe by an innings and 4 runs

Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo

Right then, Kraigg Brathwaite collects the trophy for winning the series 1-0 and the whole team gets together for a team photograph. The celebrations continue in the Windies camp but for now, that is it from our side for this game and this series as well. West Indies will now shift their focus to the South African tour starting on the 28th of February with a two-game Test series. As for Zimbabwe, they have a bit of a breather before getting back to white-ball cricket. Hope you enjoyed our coverage. Until next time, take care and goodbye!

The West Indies skipper, Kraigg Brathwaite says that he is very proud of the outcome. Adds they had a plan coming into this Test match and it came out really well. Informs that it was good to see the bowlers get 10 wickets today. Adds Jason Holder and Alzarri Joseph added the pressure really well for Gudakesh Motie to express himself better. Mentions they just need to keep moving in the right direction from here. Ends by saying that they need to be even sharper for their upcoming series against the Proteas.

Gudakesh Motie is the Player of the Match and also the Player of the Series for his total tally of 19 wickets across the two games (13 for 99 in this game). Motie says that he is very happy about his performance and reckons that he worked hard for it. Says that he had a lot of practice coming into the series and says the wickets here were similar to those back home.

Craig Ervine, the captain of Zimbabwe is in for a chat. He says that after winning the toss, they needed to bat well but that did not go as per their plan. Informs that they were put on the back foot from the get-go. Adds that he hopes they prepared really well for this series. Mentions the batters have been really well and Victor Nyauchi has been incredible in this Test match. Mentions they will shift their focus on a domestic tournament and later get in the groove for the series against the Netherlands.

The Presentation ceremony...

Let's do a quick recap of what happened in the game. Craig Ervine won the toss and opted to bat first on a track that had something to offer for the spinners right from the start. Gudakesh Motie ran riot through the Zimbabwean batting order and picked up 7 wickets as the hosts were bowled out on the first day itself for just 115 runs. Once again, Innocent Kaia looked good at the top and scored 38 runs but no one else did enough to help the scoreboard. Day 1 saw West Indies lose a few wickets as well but Raymon Reifer scored a half-century and put them in command. On a rain-hit second day of the Test, West Indies struggled a bit but an 85-run stand between Joshua Da Silva and Roston Chase made sure that the visitors had a sizeable first-innings lead. Victor Nyauchi and Brandon Mavuta bowled well for the hosts with the former picking up a maiden five-wicket haul in Test cricket as well. West Indies got bundled out early on Day 3 which started two hours later than the scheduled time due to a wet outfield but the visitors were able to bowl out Zimbabwe once again before the day ended thanks to another sublime performance with the ball by Gudakesh Motie.

West Indies are absolutely elated and rightly so because an innings victory is always special. They had the overnight lead of 175 runs but could only add 2 runs to it but this proved to be just enough for their bowlers to work their magic and ensure that the Windies didn't need to bat again. Once again, Gudakesh Motie was the pick of the bunch as he picked up 6 wickets to go with his 7 wickets in the first innings, a total of 13 wickets in the game, absolutely impressive from him. The likes of Alzarri Joseph, Shannon Gabriel, Roston Chase and Jason Holder all got one wicket each and they never really let the opposition have a breather. An all-round top-class bowling effort and they have won the series here.

Zimbabwe went into the Tea interval having 3 wickets in hand and trailing by 19 runs. They came out and played their shots but this offered the opposition bowlers chances. Brandon Mavuta was the first to be dismissed after the interval as he was caught at short leg and after this skipper, Craig Ervine and Victor Nyauchi both fell in the very next over. Zimbabwe were outplayed and outclassed in this game and they will be a bit disappointed here as they couldn't avoid the innings defeat. Their skipper though showed his class and scored 72 runs, the highest individual score of this game but it was never going to be enough.

The frustration and misery of the first Test match have turned into pure joy for West Indies as they seal a big win here by an inning and 4 runs. The Windies also seal the two-game Test series 1-0!

OUT! STUMPED! Victor Nyauchi is undone by the turn here. Who else, it is Gudakesh Motie who puts the final nail in the coffin. A fitting end to this enticing Test match. This is looped up, angled in on off. Victor Nyauchi dances down the track and tries to heave it away but misses. The ball drips and turns away sharply. Joshua Da Silva pouches the ball and is quick to get rid of the bails. Victor Nyauchi is way out of the crease. West Indies win the Test match by an innings and four runs.

47.2 3

This is full, sliding down leg. Tanaka Chivanga sweeps it to fine leg. The batters take three runs. They trail by 4 runs now.

Tanaka Chivanga is the last man in for Zimbabwe.

OUT! LBW! This is plumb! Gudakesh Motie gets his fifth wicket here. Craig Ervine's valiant knock comes to an end here. It is a shorter delivery, outside off. It grips and turns in sharply. Craig Ervine shuffles and tries to flick it away but misses as he ends up playing all around it. Ervine gets pinged on his pads. Gudakesh Motie appeals and the dreaded finger goes up.

The final session on the moving day is set to begin. West Indies' players take the field. Followed by Craig Ervine and Brandon Mavuta who walk out with their blades. It will be Alzarri Joseph to start with the ball.

... Day 3, Session 3 ...

The Zimbabwe skipper, Craig Ervine has certainly played a captain's knock here. He has kept motoring along really well and kept the runs ticking. Craig Ervine walks out at the Tea break on 69 runs, although he has found it diffuclt to find an able partner at the other end. The hosts still trail the game by 19 runs. It is really important for them for their skipper to stick around for long. For West Indies, it is only about a matter of time before they get over the line here. The visitors will surely be delighted to seal the game without coming out to bat once again. Gudakesh Motie has been the difference for them in this session. The spinners did exceptionally well to keep things tight in the post-Lunch session. Will Zimbabwe be able to bat till stumps on Day 3? Join us at 7.30 pm IST (2 pm GMT) to find out.

It has been all about West Indies but also a slight spotlight is on Craig Ervine who has been a difference in this Zimbabwean innings. Without a doubt, the afternoon session has tilted in favour of the visitors.

We are back for the post-Lunch session on Day 3! The umpires are out in the middle and so are the players. Innocent Kaia and Craig Ervine will resume their stay on the crease. And, it will be Gudakesh Motie to operate right after the interval.

Just a few minutes away then from the second session. Can Zimbabwe somehow bat on without losing much wickets and frustrate the Windies bowlers? Let's find out.

... Day 3, Session 2 ...

Zimbabwe still trail by 131 runs and the visitors certainly have their noses in front here. West Indies will come back on the field in the post-Lunch session with an intention of putting this game to bed. Kraigg Brathwaite has been excellent with his bowling changes so far in this match. Jason Holder and Alzarri Joseph chipped in with a wicket each in this morning session. West Indies would now hope their spinners can come in and build on this momentum in the post-Lunch session. A crucial session for both the teams. Do join us at 5.10 pm IST (11.40 am GMT) to find out how things pan out.

So, the conditions are favourable for the bowlers undoubtedly. Even the session stat makes it pretty clear as 4 wickets were taken in 15.5 overs. Only Innocent Kaia has managed to get off to a start he and he is the key for the hosts. Alongside him is the skipper, who has held one end quite well as playing the supporting roll. Zimbabwe lost two early wickets and it is all about survival for them in this Test match.

Well, it was not an ideal start to the moving day, we were set for an early start today, but as it rained all night yesterday the conditions were quite not save for the players to play on. The groundsmen toiled hard and made sure that the game was played today even though it came after a 2 hour delay. Zimbabwe were quick to take the 2 remaining wickets to get themselves out to bat as they only allowed West Indies to add just two runs to their tally.

We are back for Zimbabwe's second innings! The umpires are back out in the middle as the West Indian players are seen in a huddle right around the boundary ropes. Innocent Kaia and Tanunurwa Makoni are the openers for Zimbabwe. Alzarri Joseph has the brand-new cherry in hand and is ready to steam in. Let's play...

... 3rd Innings ...

Right then, Zimbabwe will be happy with the fact that they only conceded 2 runs before restricting West Indies to 292 runs but the visitors still have a big first-innings lead of 177 runs. The overhead conditions should help the Windies pacers and the hosts will have to be at their best with the bat in order to keep themselves in the game. A fascinating phase of play awaits and join us in a few minutes to catch Zimbabwe's second innings.

Well, that was quick! Less than a couple of overs bowled in the day and West Indies have lost both their remaining wickets and are bundled out for 292. Jason Holder who walked out alongside Gudakesh Motie faced the first ball of the day but was edged out while going after a wide one and soon enough, Motie was caught in the deep. Victor Nyauchi who finished Day 2 with 3 wickets in the kitty, went out to pick up his first five-wicket haul in Test cricket.

92.3 W 0

OUT! CAUGHT! Victor Nyauchi gets a fi-fer here. This is a short ball, on leg stump. Motie goes back, swivels and pulls it in front of square on the leg side. Brandon Mavuta runs to his right in the deep and takes a good catch diving forward. West Indies have been bowled out for 292 runs.

92.2 0

Touch fuller, on leg stump. Motie dances down the track and drills it to long on. Although denies the single here, as he thinks he can score a boundary himself.

Motie gets an under-edge on it. Tafadzwa Tsiga gathers it safely but it is ruled out as Chivanga's back foot lands on the tramline and hence, Gudakesh Motie survives.

OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Jason Holder slips out on the very first delivery on the moving day. It is a length ball, wide of off. Jason Holder slashes hard at it but only manages to get a thick outside edge. Tafadzwa Tsiga makes no mistakes behind the sticks. The wicket could've been ruled out but Victor Nyauchi has some part of his foot behind the line.

Finally, we are all set for play to begin on Day 3! The umpires are out in the middle and so are the players of Zimbabwe. The overnight batters for West Indies, Jason Holder and Gudakesh Motie also make their way out to the middle. It will be Victor Nyauchi to start proceedings with the ball and will complete his unfinished over from the previous day. Also, Lunch will be taken at 4.30 pm IST (11 am GMT). Let's play...

Update 2.36 pm IST (9.06 am GMT) - There is some good news as broadcasters are said to come 'On Air' at 2.58 pm IST (9.28 am GMT) which means play could start at 3 pm IST (9.30 am GMT). The Zimbabwe bowlers are also seen warming up and this means that in all likelihood play will start at the above-mentioned time. It is confirmed now and there will be 75 overs bowled in the day, light and weather permitting that is. So, buckle up as we aren't that far away from the start of play on Day 3.

Update 2.09 pm IST (8.39 am GMT) - The umpires were out in the middle a few minutes ago. There is no rain but there are clouds all over the ground. The outfield seems to have improved a bit and there will be another inspection at 2.30 pm IST (9 am GMT). Hopefully, the next inspection comes bearing good news. Stick around for more updates.

Update 1.19 pm IST (7.49 am GMT) - The umpires have scheduled an inspection for 2 pm IST (8.30 am GMT). We should, hopefully, have a clear idea of the outfield and if conditions improve or not by then. Stay tuned for more updates.

Update 1.05 pm IST (7.35 am GMT) - Darlington Matambanadzo is near the deck. He informs that there is a rough patch at the fuller length, which the spinners would hope to capitalize on. He adds that the batting conditions will only get tougher from hereon. Adds that if West Indies get the lead to 220, then Zimbabwe will certainly find it a difficult chase. He then inspects the outfield as well and says that there are a few areas of concern and the umpires are out too to just have a look. Stick around for further updates as the early start has now been delayed.

Update 12.48 pm IST (7.18 am GMT) - The live scenes from the ground currently depict that there isn't any rain around but the outfield seems to be wet and there's standing water on one area of the ground. The groundsmen are working hard to get it ready in time for the play to start and the Super Sopper is at work as well. Stay tuned for further updates.

West Indies have a sizeable lead and still have a couple of wickets in hand thanks to a spirited fightback by Joshua Da Silva and Roston Chase on Day 2. They will look to extend this lead to beyond the 200-run mark and hope that their bowlers work their magic just like the first innings and they don't have to bat one more time. Well, that is a scenario for later but for now, the main focus for them would be trying to stay at the crease for as long as possible. A crucial first session in which one team can simply take the game away or the other team can crawl their way back into the match. Which side will make early inroads on Day 3? Stay tuned to find out.

After being bowled out early on Day 1, the hosts, Zimbabwe did make a few amends with the ball on that day itself and it looked like they wouldn't concede a big first-innings lead. That being said, on a rain-hit Day 2, their bowlers were able to repeat the performance from the previous evening. They are trailing by 175 runs and will need to bundle out the opposition quickly in order to have a small chance of getting a favourable result. Victor Nyauchi will certainly be the key for them.

Hello and welcome to Day 3 of the 2nd and final Test match between Zimbabwe and West Indies at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo. Day 3 is known as the moving day in Test cricket and given where the game is currently, this day could prove to be decisive, that is if the rain gods stay away. The good news is that the forecast for most of the day is good and we should, hopefully, get plenty of cricketing action.

... DAY 3, SESSION 1 ...

The day belonged to three individuals. Roston Chase and Joshua Da Silva played decent knocks and their partnership helped West Indies to swell the lead. The Zimbabwean bowling was disciplined but they didn't create enough wicket-taking opportunities in the first half. There was a small window of play when the action resumed after Tea and Victor Nyauchi's double strike handed the hosts some semblance of hope. They are behind by a big margin in this Test and all will eventually depend on how they bat the second time around. Hopefully, we will get all the answers on Day 3. As expected, there will be an early start, at 1 pm IST (7.30 am GMT), do join us in advance for the build-up. Cheers!

It's indeed Stumps on Day 2. Less than 50 overs were possible but still, this Test match has moved ahead decently, all thanks to those 14 wickets that fell on Day 1. West Indies now lead by 175 runs and still have two wickets remaining. The weather is going to be a concern in the coming days as well, so the visitors will have to take a call. We could get the declaration as a lead of 175 is looking good enough for this surface. Anyway, we will wait and watch what happens.

Update 8.43 pm IST (3.13 pm GMT) - If we heard the announcement on the ground correctly, it's Stumps on Day 2. We will get you the confirmation soon.

Update 8.15 pm IST (2.45 pm GMT) - IT'S RAINING! The groundsmen are given the green signal and they run out to cover the pitch and the surroundings. This is very frustrating for the players. They are off again. A little period of play was only possible and Zimbabwe enjoyed it the most by picking up the wickets of Joshua Da Silva and Alzarri Joseph. The lead has stretched to 175 runs. The rain is picking up its intensity now. It looks unlikely to have more overs on Day 2 as the light will also start to deteriorate now. Let's see what's in store.

... DAY 2, SESSION 3 ...

Update 7.31 pm IST (2.01 pm GMT) - It appears that we're minutes away from resumption. The stumps are back in place. Bright sunshine. We'll get a clearer picture in another 10 minutes. A few players are going through the warm-up drills.

Update 7.11 pm IST (1.41 pm GMT) - The groundsmen are putting in the hard yards. The big covers are off and now only the pitch is having the protection sheet. There are a few wet patches on the ground and that is the only area of concern. Super Sopers continue to do the rounds. And as I type, the pitch is also uncovered. There could be an official inspection soon. Stay tuned.

Update 6.48 pm IST (1.18 pm GMT) - Good news, folks! The rain has eased off and we can see some blue skies as well. The groundsmen are carefully peeling off the covers to dry. One Super Sopper is also doing the rounds. Things are certainly looking promising as the sun has also marked its presence. This will surely aid the ground staff in drying out the outfield. Stay tuned, we might get some more good news soon.

Update 5.52 pm IST (12.22 pm GMT) - With the conditions not improving much, the umpires have decided to take TEA ON DAY 2. West Indies started the afternoon session with consecutive boundaries and it appeared that they will press on the accelerator but Zimbabwe smartly bowled disciplined lines and soon dried out the runs. The second new ball resulted in a breakthrough for them as Victor Nyauchi breached the defense of Roston Chase with a beautiful delivery. The visitors managed 33 runs off 14.1 overs in the second session before the rain gods intervened. As I'm typing, the rain has started to come down heavily. It is looking very dull and the chances are very less for a resumption soon. Stay with us for latest updates.

Update 5.32 pm IST (12.02 pm GMT) - No fresh news from the ground. The covers are on and although the intensity of the rain has reduced, it is still persistent. Stay tuned, we will keep you posted.

Update 5.12 pm IST (11.42 am GMT) - It's raining properly now. The dark clouds started to pull in but no one expected the rain to arrive so soon. The groundsmen are caught a bit unaware and are seen rushing to pick the covers. The players have already exited. It's pelting down now. More and more covers are coming on. It seems like a lengthy delay. Let's stay positive.

... DAY 2, SESSION 2 ...

West Indies are now in a great position and their aim will be to bat Zimbabwe out of the game. This pitch has certainly some support for the bowlers and it's only going to deteriorate more. Let's see if the hosts could bounce back and have some say in the post-Lunch session which will begin at 4.10 pm IST (10.40 am GMT).

The morning session belonged to West Indies. They scored 103 runs for the loss of Kyle Mayers's wicket and have extended their lead to 121 runs. Roston Chase has batted with full control and his current partnership with Joshua Da Silva has pushed the home team firmly on the back foot. Despite bowling disciplined lines, Zimbabwe failed to create many wicket-taking opportunities and are staring down the barrel. They needed wickets in a heap to make a comeback but that didn't happen.

Loopy delivery, full and on midde, Kyle drives it down to long on and takes a single. West Indies are away on Day 2.

It's time to get underway. The players are on the field. Kyle Mayers and Roston Chase are the overnight batters for West Indies. Brandon Mavuta to start proceedings. One slip and short leg in place. Here we go...

Pitch report - The pitch is bone dry but at one end there is a good covering of grass whereas, at the other, it's completely bald. It's going to assist the spinners and the batting is going to get tougher, especially against the spinners.

The idea from Zimbabwe was right but not the execution. It's always better to bat first on a dry surface as it only gets difficult with time. The hosts though failed to take home the advantage of winning the toss. Gudakesh Motie utilized the conditions to perfection by claiming a 7-wicket haul and made a complete mockery of the Zimbabwean batting line-up. Getting only 115 in the first inning of a Test match will always make you play catch up and the home team is doing that exactly. Their hope of making a comeback relies on this morning's session, as picking wickets in a heap, will allow them to get back on level terms. Will that happen?

Welcome, ladies and gentlemen! The second day of the second Test match is upon us. This game has moved on at a brisk pace after 14 wickets fell on the first day. West Indies have gathered the early advantage but on this tricky surface, conducive for the spinners, you are never in as a batter. So, the plans for the tourists will be to carefully navigate through the morning session and stretch their lead as much as possible. Batting last won't be easy here and West Indies will be having that in mind too. Let's see how they approach the day's play. Stay tuned for more.

... DAY 2, SESSION 1 ...

Zimbabwe would be disappointed with their batting effort at the end of the day. Yes, there was help for the spinners but it is not an unplayable pitch by any stretch of imagination and Windies batters just needed to apply themselves. They could not do so and apart from Kaia and Ervine no batter showed the application to stay in the middle. We should also credit Donald Tiripano for taking his side over the 100-run mark but the bowlers have been left to do too much here. They have managed to pick four wickets though and Brandon Mavuta and Wellington Masakadza have bowled well and for Zimbabwe, the first session of Day 2 will be very crucial of they want to make a comeback in this game. The first session of Day 2 will start at 1.30 pm IST (8 am GMT). Our build-up though starts early. So do join us for the same. Cheers!

The day started with Craig Ervine winning the toss and deciding to bat first on a dry looking pitch. The idea was to get runs on the board before it starts turning. However, Windies bowlers were up to the task and Gudakesh Motie got some good turn in the first session itself as Zimbabwe lost half of their side in the first session with Motie taking two and Holder too bowling a good spell. In the second session, though it was all about Motie as he proved too hot to handle for the hosts and ended with a seven-wicket haul as Zimbabwe were bundled out for just 115. With the bat, they lost their skipper Kraigg Brathwaite early but Tagenarine Chanderpaul and Raymon Reifer stitched a nice partnership of 73 runs before West Indies went onto lose some quick wickets towards the end of the day. They are in a commanding position in this game now and would be looking to make this lead as big as possible on Day 2.

The West Indies are at the driver's seat at the end of Day 1! Zimbabwe though have managed to get three wickets in the final session and have just about managed to keep themselves in the game here. Overall, though they would need to do a lot of heavy lifting to get ahead of West Indies from hereon and things don't look good for them at the moment with West Indies already ahead by 18 runs and have six wickets in hand.

Oh, the light meter is out and the umpires have decided to take the players off the field. The light is not good enough to continue and we can expect it to get better from here on. So, it will be Stumps on Day 1!

Welcome back to the final session of Day 1! The Zimbabwean players are out there in the middle. Tagenarine Chanderpaul and Raymon Reifer are also in the middle to resume their innings. Wellington Masakadza to start with the ball. Here we go...

... DAY 1, SESSION 3 ...

Right then, Zimbabwe will be looking for some quick wickets while West Indies will be hoping for both of these batters to end the day for them. Can the Zimbabwean bowlers come up with something special here? We shall find out together. Do join us at 6.30 pm IST (1 pm GMT) for the final session of Day 1.

Earlier in the session, Zimbabwe resumed from 70/5. Gudakesh Motie continued his good work from session one and made the home side suffer with his accurate bowling. He ended up picking seven wickets for his team and they managed to bundle Zimbabwe for just 115 runs. It was Donald Tiripano who scored an unbeaten 23 runs and took his team over the 100-run mark.

West Indies have lost one of their openers but they still have their noses in front as they trail by just 94 runs with 9 wickets in hand. They have managed to bundle Zimbabwe on just 115 runs. Tagenarine Chanderpaul and Raymon Reifer are in the middle now and they would like to build a solid partnership that can take this game away from Zimbabwe now. Tagenarine Chanderpaul is on 14 runs while Raymon Reifer has just arrived. Zimbabwe bowlers have got a wicket of the dangerous Kraigg Brathwaite and it was Wellington Masakadza who chipped in. They will look to pick some more and claw their way back in this game.

... SECOND INNINGS ...

Right then, West Indies bowlers have done their job and that too really well. The onus is now on their batters to put up a mammoth total on the board and get a good lead. Zimbabwe bowlers will have to come up with something special here. Can they do it? To find out do join us for the second innings in a short while.

West Indies were excellent with the ball. Gudakesh Motie was undoubtedly the pick of the bowlers as he picked up seven wickets and this was his career best. Jason Holder chipped in two wickets whilst Alzarri Joseph has one in his kitty. West Indies will be hoping to go past Zimbabwe's total by the end of the day now.

A poor display of batting from the Zimbabwean batters as they have just managed to put up a total of 115 runs on the board. They were under the pump right from the word go, and never looked settled in the game. Innocent Kaia looked good for a moment but he lost his wicket, scoring 38 runs. They kept on losing a wicket whenever a partnership was brewing. Only four of their batters went into double digits, rest all of their batters scored in single digits.

Drinks! Zimbabwe have just not been able to deal with the spin and bounce Gudakesh Motie has got from this turf. They have been pretty poor with their shot selection as well and are starring down the barrel now. They are going to fall pretty short of the respectable first innings total here and would need their bowlers to deliver once this last wicket falls which is likely to happen anytime soon.

We are all set for the second session to begin. The umpires and the players have made their way out in the middle. Donald Tiripano and Craig Ervine will resume their innings. Shannon Gabriel comes to bowl. Here we go...

... DAY 1, SESSION 2 ...

Zimbabwe, on the other hand, will be very disappointed with this batting effort, especially after the start they got. Innocent Kaia looked pretty solid and stitched decent partnerships with Tanunurwa Makoni and Chamu Chibhabha. However, once he Kaia departed in the 18th over, Zimbabwe just seemed to have lost their way and now have lost half of their side in the first session itself. They went from 48-1 to 68-5 and the skipper Craig Ervine need someone to stay out there with him in the middle. Will we see a fightback from Zimbabwe? Or will West Indies continue to build on the momentum they have gained. We shall find out in the second session and we will be back with the action of that session at 4.10 pm IST (10.40 am GMT). Stay tuned.

West Indies have bagged the opening session of this second Test match. They came out with more intent with the ball this morning and bowled with great discipline. It took them some time to break the opening stand but Alzarri Joseph provided that breakthrough in the 10th over and then Holder and Motie bowled briliantly and kept chipping in with wickets. Motie espeically is looking very dangerous and is getting some good turn and it won't be easy for the Zimbabwean lower order battters now to tackle the turn he is getting. West Indies have a great chance here to bundle out Zimbabwe quickly and if they can get rid of Craig Ervine quickly in the second session, we might even see West Indies coming out to bat in the second session itself.

We are all ready for the start of the second Test! The West Indies players are out there in the middle. Innocent Kaia and Tanunurwa Makoni are the openers for Zimbabwe. The players now take knee in support of the BLM movement. We are done with that and now Alzarri Joseph will start the proceedings with a new red cherry. Here we go...

Kraigg Brathwaite, the skipper of West Indies says that they would have batted first and now have the job to do with the ball. Mentions that it was an all-round effort with batters and bowlers all doing well and feels that this pitch will turn a bit more. Informs that they have one changes with Shannon Gabriel coming in for Kemar Roach.

Craig Ervine, the skipper of Zimbabwe says that they will bat first. Tells that the pitch looks a bit more drier and there would be biit more turn in this game. Informs that they have few changes with Gudakesh Motie being unwell and couple of other changes.

West Indies (Playing XI) - Kraigg Brathwaite (C), Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Raymon Reifer, Jermaine Blackwood, Kyle Mayers, Roston Chase, Joshua Da Silva (WK), Jason Holder, Alzarri Joseph, Gudakesh Motie, Shannon Gabriel (In place of Kemar Roach).

Zimbabwe (Playing XI) - Innocent Kaia, Tanunurwa Makoni, Chamu Chibhabha, Craig Ervine (C), Tafadzwa Tsiga (WK), Brandon Mavuta, Wellington Masakadza, Victor Nyauchi, Donald Tiripano (In place of Brad Evans), Milton Shumba (In place of Gary Ballance), Tanaka Chivanga (In place of Richard Ngarava).

TOSS - The coin goes up in the air and Craig Ervine calls it right. Zimbabwe have decided to BAT first.

On the other hand, Zimbabwe showed some great grit and determination. They have some positives to take away as Gary Ballance scored his maiden Test century and Brandon Mavuta picked up a fifer. They just need to get some things organized, and deliver strong performances over a long period of time. Which side will come out on top? Let's find out. Toss and team news to follow shortly.

It is now time for the 2nd and final Test match between Zimbabwe and West Indies at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo. These two nations might not be the most decorated Test nations in recent years but they provided us with a classic encounter in the first game. In a rain-affected Test match a few days earlier in Bulawayo, West Indies declared on 447/6 riding high on a big ton by skipper Kraigg Brathwaite and a phenomenal double century by young Tagenarine Chanderpaul. It was a formidable total but on a track that was good for batting, the hosts showed stern resistance with debutant Innocent Kaia notching up a gritty half-century up top. This was backed up by Gary Ballance who scored his maiden ton for Zimbabwe in Test cricket in his very first Test match for the nation as well. Brandon Mavuta too scored a half-century and with the score being 379/9, the hosts took a risk and decided to declare. With just over a day's play remaining, West Indies tried to scored quickly and eventually declared on 203/5 with a lead of 271 runs on the final day. This is when the game reached its peak and Zimbabwe had to dug deep. Gudakesh Motie kept on ripping through the hosts line up but a few vital contributions from the middle order meant that the hosts lost only 6 wickets and were able to draw the game. A lot more of the same can be expected in this same game and with rain predicted later on, things could get very interesting. Both sides now have an idea of the opposition and will try their best to win the game and clinch the series. West Indies will start as favorites but Zimbabwe will be confident after their efforts in the first Test match. Will we see a winner? Or will rain play spoilsport and the sides will have to settle for a draw?
