Bangladesh will be touch disappointed with how unlucky they were but looking at the overall picture, they are still way ahead in the game. They bowled well in this session but credit to the opposition when it is due. Ireland showed a lot of character against a full-fledged spin session but they will be optimistic when they come back for the second session with just three wickets to win. He has played a determining knock so far. The Irish bowlers toiled hard, with Matthew Humphreys managing to pick up four wickets, though at the cost of plenty of runs. As the Tea break arrived, Bangladesh's monumental lead was nearing the 300-run mark. Given their aggressive approach right up to the interval, it seemed certain the 'leather hunt' would resume immediately after tea, with the declaration nowhere in sight.

So, the morning session was a mixed bag for Bangladesh, yet they remained firmly in control. Another excellent session for Bangladesh! They've really piled on the pressure, extending their already commanding lead to nearly 300 runs. Even though Ireland managed to grab a couple of wickets, the scoring rate barely dropped, showing the Tigers' aggressive intent. Given how freely they were batting right up until the tea break, it seems highly unlikely they'll call it a day yet. The run-feast looks set to continue when they return, making Ireland's task even more daunting.

Despite losing those wickets, Bangladesh holds a commanding position, with Litton Das looking assured at the crease. Their current lead stands at a huge 161 runs. With the surface now beginning to offer turn and bounce for the spinners, this total already looks match-winning. An evenly poised session but Bangladesh are way ahead in the game at the moment. The session certainly brought some joy to the Irish camp, as their bowlers fought back to claim three important wickets. The key breakthrough came early, with Barry McCarthy striking twice in quick succession to dismantle the overnight partnership. First, the brilliant centurion Mahmudul Joy, out for 171, had to depart, followed moments later by his solid partner, Mominul Haque, for 82. However, the action remained positive for the home side, with Najmul Shanto showing great intent and motoring along to a quick half-century.
