The visitors have played just one game so far but were dismantled in front of their home crowd by the runners-up from last season Rajasthan. They have a pace-dominated bowling attack but barring the two left-arm pacers, Fazalhaq Farooqi and T Natarajan, the others had a game to forget last time around. It was their batting effort that proved to be even more disappointing and they will hope that the availability of their captain Aiden Markram, Marco Jansen, and Heinrich Klaasen will boost their line-up as well as their chances of winning this game. Lucknow managed to win their opening game in front of their home crowd but were beaten away from home by Chennai in a high-scoring affair. Despite their skipper KL Rahul and the middle order looking a tad bit shaky, the rest of the batters have contributed heavily to help the team post an excess of 190 runs on both occasions so far. They will be further strengthened by the arrival of Quinton de Kock but his replacement in the side Kyle Mayers has already scored two half-centuries which will give the management some selection headache. Their strong bowling unit will prove to be a handful with Mark Wood the standout player, having already claimed 8 wickets in 2 games.
