Commentary
We are back for the chase. New Zealand players make their way out in the middle. Najmul Hossain Shanto and Litton Das start with their blades for Bangladesh. Trent Boult to start with the ball. Here we go...
... The Run Chase ...
Right then, Bangladesh have a mountain to climb to stay alive in this tri-series. The way their batting has performed so far on this tour, it offers very little confidence but you never know in cricket. Stay tuned for the second innings...
Martin Guptill (34 off 27 balls) is in for a quick chat. He says that it was really nice to see the guys play and he is happy with the performance. Adds that it was nice for him to get the game time and they finished off in style. Further says that Neesham and Phillips finished off really well. Ends by saying that they have a good total and it should be enough.
It was yet another dismal show with the ball from Bangladesh. They looked listless, to say the least. Their catching did improve but the overall ground fielding was not up to the mark. Mohammad Saifuddin was the standout bowler and if we ignore his last over, he was quite impressive.
The batting of New Zealand revolved around the knock of Devon Conway who continued with his good form. Finn Allen was at his usual best in the Powerplay and then Martin Guptill, after his initial struggle, formed a fluent partnership for the second wicket. The real impetus to the innings though was provided by Glenn Phillips whose 24-ball 60 sent the Bangla bowlers on a leather hunt.
Incredible batting show from the Black Caps! They gathered 42 runs from the last three overs and that was mainly possible due to the batting blitz of Glenn Phillips. It's an imposing total on the board and Bangladesh will have to bat out of their skin to chase it down.

OUT! Drags it on! End of an extraordinary knock! Ebadot Hossain's change in pace works this time. He dishes it out on a length around off, Glenn Phillips rocks back to power it across the line but is early into his shot. It takes the inner edge and cannons onto the stumps.
FOUR! Lovely placement! Ebadot serves it full and wide outside off, and Phillips reaches out and slams it over cover-point for a boundary.
Slower again, full and outside off, Phillips slices his drive over point. Picks up a couple and 200 comes up for New Zealand.
Full toss outside off, a loopy one, Phillips smacks it past extra cover and the long off fielder makes a tumbling stop to his left. The batters get two.

Commentary
That's all we have from this one-sided game. Bangladesh are now out of the race for a place in the final in this tri-series but have one last game to play. It's on Thursday, 13th October, against Pakistan at 7.30 am IST (2 am GMT). You can join us in advance for the build-up. Cheers!
Glenn Phillips is the Player of the Match for his scintillating 24-ball 60! He starts by praising Conway's knock and his stand with Guptill that set the platform for him. Mentions that Bangladesh had done their homework on him but he found a way to score. Smiles and admits that he got away with a few mishits. Calls it incredible how they batted as a group in this match.
Presentation time...
It was a clinical outing for the Black Caps with the bat and their bowling was also largely disciplined. Bangladesh did manage to score freely in the Powerplay but the home team kept on picking wickets at regular intervals and never allowed the tourists to gain any kind of momentum. Adam Milne impressed the most with his extra pace and variations, and he finished with three wickets in the end.
It was always going to be a tough chase for Bangladesh but they showed the correct intent right from the word go. A few batters in the top order got starts but they failed to carry on. Shakib Al Hasan was the lone warrior in the end and the tourists will be pleased to have their skipper back in form with the bat.
Easy win for New Zealand and they have booked their place in the final. It's another disappointing outing for Bangladesh but they will take a lot of heart from their improved batting in this game.

Trent Boult, Tim Southee from mid off, Glenn Phillips from covers, and Devon Conway from behind the stumps go for it. They all leave it for each other and the ball drops safely. Very poor. Conway apologizes as he was calling for the catch but didn't go for it. The batters cross.

A hint of swing there! Full in length and outside off, Shanto gets forward and pushes it to covers.
