SESSION SUMMARY -  66 runs, 28 overs, and 1 wicket. End of an attritional session of Test cricket, one where New Zealand dominated the proceedings and they go to Tea with 94 runs away from their first-ever Test series win against South Africa. The visitors were disciplined throughout the second session and have not allowed New Zealand to run away with the game. After Lunch, Dane Piedt continued to keep it tight and was rewarded with the wicket of Rachin Ravindra. The Proteas bowlers were hopeful that one wicket would bring two for them, but that was not the case as Kane Williamson remained solid as a rock and soon brought up his 34th Test fifty. Williamson has done what he does best and manoeuvred the field to tick along with ones and twos. Other than that one ball that took off from Tshepo Moreki, he has looked in complete control and is closing on yet another hundred. Will Young successfully overturned the original decision of being caught behind, and the partnership between him and Williamson has grown to 56 runs. As the two batters return after Tea, it will be interesting to see their approach if they try to press on the accelerator. However, Zubayr Hamza and David Bedingham steadied the ship with a solid 4th wicket partnership of 65 runs, only for Hamza to depart cheaply, putting South Africa on the back foot once again. Yet, Keegan Petersen stepped up admirably, forming a commendable partnership of 98 runs for the 5th wicket. The highlight of the day was David Bedingham's century, which played a pivotal role in helping South Africa reach the total they did. However, the tail-enders failed to contribute significantly, and momentum shifted back to the Kiwis as the Proteas were bundled out for 235 runs, setting New Zealand a target of 267. As they did in the first innings, Dane Paterson and Tshepo Moreki maintained tight lines and lengths with the new ball.
