Shares that the runs seemed quite far away for most of the chase, and then suddenly, in the last over, it got close. Adds that it was a great experience. Shares that if they stay in and give themselves a chance, they can cash in, especially at a ground like Eden Park, where the conditions are pretty good. Closes by adding that they need to get a solid start with the bat and build on from there.

As for West Indies, the big question coming into this series from Bangladesh was how they would adjust to the conditions in New Zealand. It was the experience of Shai Hope, Roston Chase, and Rovman Powell that shone through for the visitors in the opening game. Brandon King had a quiet tour of Bangladesh and will be eager to get among the runs this time. Akeal Hosein, a key spin weapon in T20Is and often used with the new ball, surprisingly bowled just one over. It will be interesting to see how and when Hope uses him, especially given the number of left-handers in the Kiwi batting lineup. In the pace department, Matthew Forde showed good promise with the new ball in the Powerplay but went for a few against Santner later in the innings.
