It is time for the third ODI between Pakistan and New Zealand. The home team have dominated the series so far as they are 2-0 up and a win here will do it for them. It is their batters who stepped up in both matches. For New Zealand, it is a must win game. They showed it in the T20I series after being 2-0 down and have to replicate the same effort to keep the series alive. From Rawalpindi, we travel to Karachi for the final phase of the series. Pakistan would be stepping up in the third ODI of the five-match ODI series with a 2-0 lead against the Kiwis, looking to seal the series with a win here at the National Stadium, Karachi. The hosts have been sensational so far in the ODI series as they have chased down the required totals with ease in both the games played so far. Babar Azam has had a quiet series so far but the ever-so-reliable Fakhar Zaman has stamped his authority till now being the Player of the Match in both games. Pakistan would be looking for contributions from others as well with the World Cup around the horizon. That key no. 4 spot for Pakistan is still up for grabs and the likes of Shan Masood and Abdullah Shafique should be looking to put in a more significant performance to stake a claim for it. New Zealand on the contrary would be taking on a lot of positives from the two games played so far. Despite the result not going in their favour. The Daryl Mitchell show on that no. 3 spot may have eased a few nerves preparing for the World Cup later this year in the absence of ace batter Kane Williamson. Chad Bowes has performed well too and the only area of concern in the batting unit is the scoring rate for them as they need to step up a bit more and accelerate the scoring rate in order to achieve more significant totals. The bowling unit has not impressed many, for the visitors, as they still search for that bowler whom the skipper can rely on in difficult situations. Many questions are yet to be answered for both sides with the series hanging by a thin thread for the Kiwis, we can expect a thriller.
