Welcome back for the chase. The umpires and the players are out in the middle. Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub walk in with their blades for Pakistan. Nandre Burger has the new ball in hand and is raring to go. Let's play...
... THE RUN CHASE ...
It was left to the skipper, Shaheen Shah Afridi, to apply the final, clinical blow. He came back and, with two wickets in two balls, getting rid of Peter and Lungi Ngidi. He wrapped up the innings in a flash! South Africa are all out for a mere 143. Pakistan's bowlers, with Abrar the star and great support from Afridi, Nawaz, and Agha, have completed a demolition job. The home side now needs a very comfortable 144 runs to clinch the series! Stay tuned for the chase...
The real damage, however, was inflicted by the brilliant Abrar Ahmed. The spinner was absolutely unplayable, weaving a web around the middle order and sparking a devastating collapse. He tore through the line-up, grabbing four wickets in quick succession to register his career-best figures of 4/27. The Proteas simply had no answer to the turning ball, losing wickets in a rush and slumping to 130/8. Only a brief resistance from Nqaba Peter kept the score ticking over.
South Africa have been bowled out for a mere 143 runs! South Africa, having opted to bat, got off to a flying start thanks to the veteran Quinton de Kock and Lhuan-dre Pretorius, who smashed 72 runs for the opening wicket. They looked comfortable until the Pakistani spin attack was introduced. Salman Ali Agha provided the crucial double breakthrough, removing Pretorius and de Zorzi, which immediately opened the floodgates. QDK brought up his fifty but couldn't stick around, and the South African innings began to lose its momentum dramatically.
OUT! TIMBER! Two in two for the skipper. A job extremely well done for the hosts. A yorker, on middle, Lungi Ngidi looks to block it but gets beaten as the ball hits the stumps. South Africa have been bowled out for a mere 143 runs!
Lungi Ngidi is the last batter in.
OUT! TIMBER! Shaheen Afridi gets his first wicket. On a length, on off, and it shapes in a bit. Nqabayomzi Peter hangs back and looks to punch it but misses it completely as the ball rattles over the off pole. South Africa are down to their last wicket now.
Too full, on off, Nqabayomzi Peter digs it back to the bowler.
On a length, on off, Nandre Burger pushes it to cover for a single.
Much fuller, on leg, Nandre Burger flicks it to mid-wicket.

Abrar Ahmed wins the PLAYER OF THE MATCH AWARD. He says he read the conditions and learnt a lot from the last match. Tells that he focuses on his job, not if he is in the playing XI or not. Reckons that he is happy with his performance and tries to do his best in must win games.
...Presentation...
Earlier in the game, it was a dominant bowling performance by Pakistan that saw them bundle out South Africa for a mere 143 runs. Despite a solid 72-run opening stand between Quinton de Kock and Lhuan-dre Pretorius, the Pakistani spinners, led by Abrar Ahmed (4/27), triggered a massive collapse. Salman Agha struck two quick blows to open the floodgates, and then Abrar ran through the middle order, with South Africa losing wickets in clusters. Skipper Shaheen Afridi then sealed the demolition with two wickets in two balls, giving him figures of 2/17, while Mohammad Nawaz and Salman Agha also chipped in with two wickets each.
Apart from Lhuan-dre Pretorius and Quinton de Kock, the others added just 48 runs to the total and that tells you the story. In a must win game, the inexperienced Proteas line up crumbled with the most proeficient knock coming from Lhuan-dre Pretorius and Quinton de Kock. Once they fell, it was a procession against come quality spinners on a rank turner. In reply, needing a modest total, Pakistan needed one man to step up and Saim Ayub came to the party with his fine half-century. His innings along with Mohammad Rizwan's 32 not out was enough to win the series.
Well, the game was set up by the Pakistani bowlers. They ripped through the Proteas line-up. Abrar Ahmed particularly, who grabbed four wickets to register his career-best figures of 4/27. The others played their part. Shaheen Afridi was reluctant to bring in Abrar Ahmed against the left-handed openers but once they departed, Ahmed came in and dismantled the South Africa batting group, breaking their back single-handedly. Agha and Nawaz too played their part while the skipper cleaned up the tail with ease.
Mohammad Rizwan drops his bat in triumph as Pakistan win a bilateral ODI series against South Africa in their home soil for the first time.
FOUR! Match winning blow! Flighted full and on off, Agha uses his feet and smashes it over mid off for a boundary. Pakistan win by 7 wickets with almost half the quota still to spare.

But the South African chase was all about dominance. De Kock hammered a magnificent, unbeaten 123, brilliantly supported by Tony de Zorzi's quickfire 76, as they powered to a comprehensive eight-wicket victory.

His return adds significant firepower to the bowling attack as the Men in Green look to close out the series victory. However, South Africa has proven their resilience throughout this tour, even though they haven't won a single toss! They bounced back brilliantly in the second ODI, chasing down a challenging target with ease, thanks to a masterclass century from the returning Quinton de Kock.
Get ready for a massive Saturday of cricket! The tension is sky-high as both the T20I series between Australia and India, and the crucial ODI series between Pakistan and South Africa, reach their grand finales today. All eyes are fixed on the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad where Pakistan and South Africa clash in the third and final ODI. With the series locked at one win apiece, this match is a winner-takes-all decider that promises a thrilling, nail-biting finish to a hard-fought tour. On that note, hello and welcome to the coverage.
...MATCH DAY...
The three-match One Day International series between Pakistan and South Africa has lived up to its billing, leading to a thrilling winner-takes-all 3rd ODI at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad. With the series perfectly poised at 1-1, this final encounter not only determines the series winner but also serves as a crucial measuring stick for both teams as they begin to shape their ODI plans for the road to the next ICC Cricket World Cup. The return of international cricket to the historic Iqbal Stadium after 17 years has been met with two captivating contests and it wouldn't be wrong to predict another close contest in the final game. The two matches played suggest a surface that is initially tricky for batting, offering some assistance to the pacers early on. However, once settled, batters can make big scores, particularly in the later overs. The dew factor at this venue, especially this time of the year, is significant and has historically favored the chasing side, making the toss a crucial factor for the captains. Pakistan's captain, Shaheen Afridi, has seen two very different performances from his team. While the fight shown in the first ODI was commendable, the collapse in the second match, where they were reduced to 22/3, is a major concern. The onus is heavily on the star trio of Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam, and Mohammad Rizwan to fire. The middle order, led by the in-form Salman Agha, has shown resilience, but they cannot constantly be relied upon for rescue acts. South Africa's dominant performance in the 2nd ODI, spearheaded by their returning veteran Quinton de Kock, has shifted the momentum firmly in their favor. His magnificent, effortless century in the last game proved why he is still an indispensable asset. The pace duo of Nandre Burger and Lungi Ngidi, who have each played a match each, has been superb, with Burger's four-wicket haul dismantling Pakistan's top order in the previous game. The young wrist-spinner Nqabayomzi Peter also impressed, adding a valuable wicket-taking dimension in the middle. The first 10 overs in both innings will be crucial as they will test whether Pakistan's top order can provide a platform for the middle order and also if Shaheen Afridi and co can break through the Proteas' explosive top order and set things rolling with the ball. Who do you think will clinch the series win?

...Presentation...
