...Presentation coming up...

It was top-class bowling from the Proteas. It was filled with fiery bowling from Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada while Tabraiz Shamsi showed his magic yet again and claimed 3 wickets. However, it was Anrich Nortje's first over that shifted the momentum. He took two in his first and overall with four wickets, his best T20I figures. A one-sided affair in the end. However, it was set up by Rilee Rossouw and Quinton de Kock with the bat. The former scored a wonderful ton and helped his team get over 200 and it turned out to be more than enough.

Bangladesh were behind the 8-ball from the start of the chase. They had a good start but once Anrich Nortje was introduced, they lost both the openers in quick succession. Shakib Al Hasan got out to an LBW decision that could have been refereed upstairs and could have survived. He fell and after that, there wasn't much from the other batters. Litton Das stayed for a long time but the chase was just too big for Bangladesh.

A comprehensive win for the Proteas. They dominated in all three departments and with such a huge margin win, they boost their net rate rate. For now, they go on top of group 2.

Commentary

We are back. The players are out in the middle. Najmul Hossain Shanto and Soumya Sarkar to open for Bangladesh. Kagiso Rabada to start with the ball.

...THE CHASE...

Now the target is a big one! Bangladesh will have to bat really well if they are to chase this down. However, South Africa have an excellent bowling attack and they won't be making it easy. They will be looking for early wickets and to push Bangladesh completely on the back foot and get a big win. Join us for the second half in a bit.

For Bangladesh, they will be very disappointing with their effort. They were poor with the ball and in the field were not at their best too. Taskin, who was so good in the last game, was taken to the cleaners here. Except for the Fizz, most of the bowlers had economies on the higher side. They just did not make most of a wicket where the slower ones were holding and were bowling more into the slot and seam-up which were easy to hit. It is not what Shakib would have wanted after being asked to field.

Bangladesh have managed to pull things back brilliantly but this is a total which we feel is well above par on this wicket. South Africa will be slightly disappointed with how they finished but they will know they have a big, big score on the board. The start was not the best for them as they lost Bavuma early but then came the stand which took the game away from them, between de Kock and Rilee. The two added 168. De Kock played second fiddle and Rilee was the aggressor. They went after everything once they got their eye in. When the two were batting, 240 looked possible. De Kock fell but Rilee continued. However, as he neared his ton, he slowed down and since then, South Africa slowed down too. The batters who followed de Kock failed to hit it big and in the end, they have fallen well short of where they could have been but still a massive total.

2.51nb

That is a top notch delivery on a Free Hit but wait... Taskin Ahmed has overstepped again! Free Hit continues. This is a yorker outside off, de Kock swings but misses.

NO BALL AND FOUR! That is so nicely played! So easily done. This is on middle, Quinton de Kock moves across and just helps it on its way over the short fine leg fielder. Also, Taskin Ahmed has stepped over the line. Free Hit coming up.

2.20

That is quick, that is really quick! Shorter and on middle, angling away. This one takes off too. Rilee Rossouw looks to pull but misses.

That was quite late! A REVIEW HAS BEEN TAKEN FOR CAUGHT BEHIND! Did not really see that coming, there was hardly any appeal there. NOT OUT! Nothing on Ultra Edge. A waste of a review in the end. This is full and outside off, Rilee Rossouw slashes at it but misses. There is hardly anyeone appealing but Bangladesh decide to review right at the end. It goes down in vain.

OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! Yet again, Taskin Ahmed strikes in the very first over. Ends the first over brilliantly and this is the ideal start for Bangladesh. Taskin is delighted and so is the crowd here. It is another low score for the South African skipper. This is a beauty of a delivery. An effort ball. It is on a length and around off, this lands and moves away. Bavuma has a poke at it, it goes off the outside edge and it is taken by the keeper.

0.50

Almost plays it on! Already signs of the wicket being slow. This is on a length and around off, Temba Bavuma looks to push at it away from the body, it goes off the inside edge and just past the off pole. This is a really good over from Taskin Ahmed!

0.40

Back of a length and on off, Bavuma stands tall and plays it to cover.

0.30

Bangs this one short and on middle, Bavuma pulls it to mid on.

0.22

Just wide! Bavuma and South Africa are underway! Shorter and outside off, Bavuma hangs his bat out, it goes uppishly and just wide of the diving point fielder and towards third man for two.

0.10

Some nice away movement but no carry at all! Outside off, this one shapes away. It is left alone. It goes on the bounce to the keeper.

Done and dusted with the National Anthems and we are all set for the first ball to be bowled. The Bangladesh players make their way out to the middle and are followed by Quinton de Kock and Temba Bavuma the South African openers. Taskin Ahmed has the new ball in hand. He struck twice in his and that innings' very first over. His side would love for him to do the same here. Can he do it? We will find out. Here we go...

UPDATE 0822 IST (0252 GMT) - Well, the rain has now stopped. It is probably going to be that kind of a day where the rain will be playing hide and seek. Also, there's no delay to the start of the game as the players make their way out for the National Anthems!

Update 0816 IST (0246 GMT) - THE RAIN IS BACK! The covers are back and we are back to waiting for it to pass away.

BANGLADESH (PLAYING XI) - Najmul Hossain Shanto, Soumya Sarkar, Litton Das (WK), Shakib Al Hasan (C), Afif Hossain, Mehidy Hasan (IN FOR Yasir Ali), Nurul Hasan, Mosaddek Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud, Mustafizur Rahman.

SOUTH AFRICA (PLAYING XI) - Quinton de Kock (WK), Temba Bavuma (C), Rilee Rossouw, Aiden Markram, David Miller, Tristan Stubbs, Wayne Parnell, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Tabraiz Shamsi (IN FOR Lungi Ngidi).

Shakib Al Hasan says they would have batted first too but with the rain around, they won't mind chasing. Informs they are playing an extra spinner as the wicket might assist them. Adds it is about expressing themselves and want to show fight till the end.

Temba Bavuma says the wicket might get drier and they have an extra spinner and hence, they want to bat first. Informs Tabraiz Shamsi comes in for Lungi Ngidi. Adds they can't control the weather and they just need to play well. States it is about building from the last game where they felt they played really well. Ends by saying he likes the weather here, Hobart was very cold.

TOSS - Temba Bavuma has won the toss and elected to BAT!

Shaun Pollock says the sun is out and it is a lot warmer than it was in Hobart. States the square bundaries are not that big but the boundaries down the ground are really big. Carlos Brathwaite says the wicket is slightly damp and it seems a touch dry but it should be a good one to bat on and we should get a high score.
