What a session for Sri Lanka! They are optimistic that the result could arrive in the next session itself. Afghanistan bossed the first hour. Both Ibrahim Zadran and Rahmat Shah started well as the ball wasn't doing much however, once Sri Lanka took the second new ball, the momentum shifted towards their side. Rahmat Shah fell after his fifty, Ibrahim Zadran went as well after his ton. Hashmatullah Shahidi played a couple of strokes but he too fell and after that it was just a procession. Wickets kept on falling. Credit to Sri Lanka though, the seamers swung the ball and got wickets but the man of the hour was Prabath Jayasuriya who bowled from one end consistently and took four wickets. He has to toil hard again in the next session which could be the final session as well. Stay tuned.

Hello and welcome to the action of Day 4. The visitors have did a commendable job with the bat as they cut the deficit almost within a day. Zadran along with Noor Ali added more than 100 runs. The latter fell three short of his fifty but Zadran found another partner in Shah. The opener has scored a brilliant ton and the first thing Afghanistan will look good do is take the lead. Sri Lanka had to toil hard with the ball. Nothing went well for them and need an inspiration to take flurry of wickets. The hosts might be ahead in the game but a good start is very crucial for them. So the game seems evenly poised as of now! Afghanistan trail by 42 runs and they will look to bat well and put on a good lead. Sri Lanka then came with a dominant reply as Dinesh Chandimal and Angelo Mathews stitched a partnership of 232, and they closed their innings at 439 for 9, leading by 241 runs. They were well in the driver's seat, but the Afghan openers had other plans. They showed resilience and grit and batted all the way. Noor Ali Zadran fell on 47, but Ibrahim Zadran went on to score his maiden test ton, and he was well supported by Rahmat Shah, who is unbeaten on 46.

A day that was totally dominated by the Afghans! They were trailing by a mammoth 241 runs which has come down to just 42 runs and they have 9 wickets in their bank! So, Sri Lanka bowled out Afghanistan on Day 1 of the match, with Asitha Fernando, Vishwa Fernando, and Prabath Jayasuriya taking multiple wickets. Rahmat Shah stood out for Afghanistan with a strong batting performance, but the lower-order batters struggled as Afghanistan was eventually all out for 198.

The Sri Lankan team scored 439 for 9, giving them a lead of 241 runs. The home team is still in a strong position, as they have a lead of 206 runs. They will look to pick up some quick wickets now and put the Afghanistan side under pressure. Finally, a session that belonged to the Afghans! They are recovering slowly from the damage done to them earlier. At the start, Naveed Zadran and Nijat Masood performed well with the ball for them at the start of this session, taking timely wickets. They managed to wrap up the innings as they trailed by 241 runs. Coming to bat, Noor Ali Zadran and Ibrahim Zadran were watchful and haven't lost a wicket yet. They still have a steep mountain to climb as they still trail by 206 runs!
