That is all from this game! The actions continues in the World Cup as later in the day, Pakistan will take on Ireland. The action from Group A starts at 8 pm IST (2.30 pm GMT) but as always you can join us earlier for the build up. Till then, goodbye and cheers!

The skipper of Australia, Mitchell Marsh says that they spoke pre-game about sticking to our game and trying to win. Mentions that Scotland have improved a lot and they have huge respect for them. Adds that it was a good chase and the talk was about staying consistent. Feels that pressure brings out the best of them and it was a good experience before the Super 8 stage. Feels that the World Cup starts all over again now and they are excited for what is to come. When asked if there was a chat about England, he replies that it was more externally than internally but their focus was on winning the game and he is happy to have done that.

Richie Berrington, the skipper of Scotland feels they were in a good position with the bat but failed to get some runs in the back end. Shares they started well with the ball but a couple of big overs helped Australia to get back in the game. Tells it was hard to hit across the breeze and their plan was to make them hit away from the wind. Reckons they were expecting a bit more with the bat after the position they were in but says the boys can hold their heads high, it is a great learning for them.

Marcus Stoinis is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his match-winning knock. He says that the plan was to get in and assess the situation from there. Feels that the wicket was really good but with the strong breeze, it was important to target the end it was easier to hit from. Tells that Travis Head picked his bowler and pretty much turned the game around with those three sixes. Shares that playing consistently over the past 3-4 months has helped him to retain his form and get the runs.

...Presentation ceremony...

Still, Australia had a job in hand, chasing 181 wasn't going to be easy! Australia lost Warner and Marsh very early on. Glenn Maxwell was bamboozled with a lovely delivery by Mark Watt. However, Travis Head held one end and was hoping for someone to hang around with him. Marcus Stoinis was the answer, the Hulk of Australia took all the pressure away as he dealt with boundaries, using his power and bringing out reverse sweeps more often than we have seen before. Marcus Stoinis took Leask on in the 14th over for 18 runs and that's where the momentum shifted. From there on there was only one winner. Scotland did manage the wickets of both the set batters but till then the job was already done.

You feel gutted for Scotland, they worked so hard to reach this stage, giving themselves a big chance to qualify for the next round but we feel they lost the battle in the first innings with the bat. They were on course to post a big score, close to 190 to say so but Scotland produced just two boundaries in the last six overs and credit to Australia for the way they bowled. It was not going their way in the initial half of the first innings as Brandon McMullen and George Munsey manufactured an 89-run partnership to put them in a strong position. However, Australia after the halfway mark came up with a different, better plan to pull things back quickly and put a lid on the run flow.

The rivals have done it! Australia have helped England to qualify for the Super Eights! What an iconic line to write, right? All the off-field talks have been brushed away as the mighty Aussies who only know one thing and it is to win, chase the total to finish Group B on top but take their arch-rivals, England along with them to the next round.

19.46

SIX! THAT'S IT! Tim David clears the fence with ease and takes Australia home! A heartbreak for Scotland who gave it their all but have still fallen short. England have Australia to thank as this outcome sees them through to the Super 8 stage. Brad Wheal lands it right in the wheelhouse for Tim David, on off and middle. David was never going to miss out as he picks the bones out of this one and whacks it over deep mid-wicket for a biggie. Australia win by 5 wickets and keep their unbeaten record in this World Cup intact.

19.32

DROPPED! Oh, no! Chris Sole puts it down! England fans are happy, Scotland not so. Would not have been a worse time than this for a catch to go down from the Scottish perspective. Serves it full and on off and middle, Tim David shuffles across for a big heave on the leg side. Skies it high in the air towards deep square leg where Chris Sole runs to his right but never looked comfortable under it. The ball curves away late from him and he shells it as the ball pops out and the batters run two.

19.21

Another single! Comes from around the wicket and delivers it on a length, outside off, Matthew Wade loses his shape as he hacks across the line and gets it off the inner half of the bat to long on.

19.11

Gets a good yorker in, angling in, at the toes, Tim David gets his bat down and jams it out in front of wide long on for a single. Scotland need a wicket here.

Persists with the same line, wide on off, on a length, Tim David drags the shot down to long on for one. Right then, we are going to the final over with Australia needing 5 runs.

18.61wd

WIDE! Sees the better move to the off side and goes even wider does Sharif but it is beyond the tramline. Wide given.

18.52

A misfield and they get back for the second. Safyaan Sharif is very lucky to have gotten away with a full toss. Bowls it on off, Tim David shuffles across and swipes it to the right of deep mid-wicket where the fielder fails to gather it cleanly and allows David to retain the strike.

18.41

Goes short and it is around middle, Matthew Wade rolls his wrists and controls the pull down to deep backward square leg for one.

18.30

Too funky and it does not come off! Lands it in the channel on off, on a short of a good length, Matthew Wade tries to reverse sweep it behind square on the off side but fails to connect.

18.22

Strays on the pads and takes pace off as well, on a length, Matthew Wade gets inside the line and drops it with soft hands in front of deep square leg for a couple of runs. Equation down to 10 off 10.

18.11

Good stop! Nails a wide yorker on off, Tim David swings hard but gets an outside edge that races towards short third. The fielder dives to his right and keeps it down to one.

Angling away, on a good length, pace taken off as well, outside off, Matthew Wade tries to fetch the sweep from outside off but gets an inside edge that goes straight to short fine leg. Wade wants a single but gets sent back by his partner.

17.51

Attacks the stumps, on middle, on a good length, Tim David tucks it in front of square on the leg side and gets to the other end.

17.44

FOUR! Expertly played and it is now down to run-a-ball for Australia. Digs it in short but takes pace off and tries to keep it at the batter, Tim David backs away early and slaps it past cover for the third boundary of the over. 14 runs needed off 14 balls.

17.34lb

FOUR LEG BYES! Easy pickings, yet again! Wheal errs in both line and length and serves a waist-high full toss, down leg, Tim David tries to tickle it fine but it comes off his thigh pad and beats Watt at short fine leg for yet another boundary.

17.24

FOUR! Poor line and it gets the treatment! Wheal bangs it short but the line is around leg, Tim David brings his fast hands into play and pulls it well wide of short fine leg for a boundary.

17.10

Just short! Angles it in, on a back of a length, on off, Tim David looks to turn it away on the leg side but gets a leading edge that falls just short of the diving Wheal.

Matthew Wade is the next man in. Australia need 26 runs in 18 balls.

OUT! BOWLED'EM! Mark Watt gets his man but Marcus Stoinis has done his job. Watt slips in a quicker delivery, full and angling in, on middle, Marcus Stoinis plays outside the line of the ball as he tries to employ the reverse sweep but gets beaten on the inside edge and it rattles into the stumps. Both set batters back in the hut but the equation in Australia's favour.

16.54

FOUR! Two in two for Marcus Stoinis as he connects with the reverse sweep this time. Slows it up and gives the ball air, outside off, Marcus Stoinis reverse sweeps it well over backward point for four more runs.

16.44

FOUR! Thumped down the ground. Watt looks for the yorker but ends up serving it right in the slot, on off, Marcus Stoinis lofts it back over the bowler's head for a boundary.

16.30

At 84.4 kph, turning away, full in length, Marcus Stoinis tries the reverse sweep but it keeps spinning away from him and he feels to get any bat on it.

Commentary

We are back for the second essay. Richie Berrington with some final words to his troops in the huddle before the Scottish players take their places on the field. Out walk the explosive Aussie opening duo of Travis Head and David Warner. Scotland are starting with spin in the form of Michael Leask. Away we go...

... THE RUN CHASE ...

Right then, the game is nicely poised at the halfway mark. Scotland will feel that they left a few runs out there with the bat and will have to make up for it with the ball. Wickets in the Powerplay will be of utmost importance for them. On the other hand, Australia will back themselves to gun down this total and they have the resources to get over the line here. Remember, England and Scotland are currently level on 5 points in Group B but the defending champions are ahead on NRR. If Australia do achieve this target of 181 runs, England will go through to the Super 8s. Back in a bit to see how the chase unfolds.

Brandon McMullen is up for a quick chat. He says it was fun and awesome to bat out there. Adds most of the ground in the Carribean has a strong breeze flowing across which helps to hit the shots with the wind. Mentions it is lovely to see George Munsey bat and informs they have played together for many years back in Scotland.

This has been an excellent fightback with the ball from Australia. A tale of two halves really for the Aussies who were under pressure in the first 10 overs. Despite Ashton Agar delivering an early breakthrough, they were put under the pump as Munsey and McMullen took them around to all corners of the park. The Aussie bowlers soon realised that taking the ball away from the stumps was the way to go and reaped the rewards for it throughout the second half of their bowling effort. Adam Zampa led the charge, yet again with the ball while Nathan Ellis and Mitchell Starc exhibited their death bowling skills to deny Scotland the finishing kick they were after. As many as 6 catches were put down by Australia, something you do not associate with them but more than them, it will be England who will be unhappy with those missed chances.

Not the kind of finish Scotland were after and they will feel that they are 10-15 runs short of where they would have hoped to be. They were 138 at the end of 15 overs and could only manage 42 in the next 5 overs to finish with 180. After being put into bat, Scotland were dealt an early blow in the form of Michael Jones. Brandon McMullen got off the blocks quickly which allowed George Munsey to take his time initially. Soon, both batters matched each other shot for shot to lay a solid foundation. It was in no way crash, bang, wallop by McMullen but proper cricketing shots on the way to a 26-ball fifty, the fastest for Scotland in T20 World cups. Considering the platform set, it was important for the incoming batters to keep the momentum up. Richie Berrington held one end up but neither of the incoming batters could find boundaries with regularity and as a result, they had to settle with 180 on the board. This is Scotland's highest score in Men's T20 World Cups and the highest score by an Associate nation against Australia in the history of the tournament.

OUT! IN THE AIR AND GONE! Glenn Maxwell should consider himself extremely lucky here. Gets a wicket off a full toss and the smile on his face says it all. Gets the length wrong and dishes out a thigh-high full toss, on middle, there to be put away, Matthew Cross smacks it towards deep mid-wicket but this is hit against the wind and it does not have enough bat on it to clear the fence. Ashton Agar near the ropes takes a safe catch.

14.20

A big shout for LBW from Glenn Maxwell and he is the only one who looks interested. This was on a nagging length, on off and middle, Matthew Cross went right across his stumps for the paddle sweep and if there was no bat or glove involved, Cross is a goner here. Uh oh, the UltraEdge shows that there is indeed glove involved and he survives the LBW shout. The replays show that Matthew Wade failed to hold on there. Make that a hat-trick of drops from Australia.

14.11

PUT DOWN AGAIN! It is Mitchell Marsh this time! The ball seems to be following the Australian skipper in this game. Short and on off and middle, Richie Berrington makes room and hits it flat and low towards cover where Mitchell Marsh dives in front but fails to hold on.

Done with the pre-match formalities. Are you ready for action? We know someone who will be glued to their screen right now. Yes, that's England who are cheering for their Ashes rivals today for a small favour, but mighty Aussies know only one thing and it's winning. A lot hanging around this match. Only time will tell who joins Australia in Group B. The players are out in the middle. Ashton Agar to bowl first. George Munsey and Michael Jones to open for Scotland. Let's play...

As you all know the procedure by now, the two umpires walk out in the middle and are followed by both teams as it is time for the national anthems. It will be Scotland's first followed by the national anthem of Australia.

Chris Sole is in for a chat. He says that it was a pretty Scottish start to the game between England and Namibia and they were wondering if it was going to be washed out. Having played earlier at this venue in the CPL, he hopes to provide the team with some inside information. Adds that they have been preparing well. Shares that they have been playing some good cricket and they should be good if they stick to what has been working for them. Feels that if they adapt to the conditions quicker than the Aussies, they will be in a good position.

PITCH REPORT - Pommie Mbangwa is pitchside. He says the wind speed is 16 kmph which could play a big factor. Adds the square boundaries are 69 metres and 66 meters respectively. The straight boundary is 78 metres. Matthew Hayden joins him and says the groundsman has done a great job, unlike the other wickets. There is a lot of grass which will help the ball hold onto the pitch, it is hard and won't spin much. Feels the captain winning the toss should bowl first and tells that 175 should be a par score on this pitch.

The captain of Scotland, Richie Berrington says that they are okay with batting first. Feels that it is a good surface and should stay pretty true throughout. Adds that the batting unit has been doing well and will look to put a good score on the board. Shares that they knew that if they wanted to progress, they would have to beat some of the top teams and this is a great opportunity. Informs that they are going with the same team as the last game. Further says that it is about trusting the skills and that there is a lot of belief in the team.

The captain of Australia, Mitchell Marsh says they will bowl first as it looks like a good surface. Shares that they are taking this as another game and admits they have a lot of respect for Scotland. Adds they want to focus on themselves in this match. Informs they have made two changes with Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood sitting out and Mitchell Starc and Ashton Agar coming in for them. Mentions it is just about giving the rest with a heavy schedule around

Scotland (Unchanged Playing XI) - George Munsey, Michael Jones, Brandon McMullen, Richie Berrington (C), Matthew Cross (WK), Michael Leask, Chris Greaves, Mark Watt, Chris Sole, Brad Wheal, Safyaan Sharif.

Australia (Playing XI) - Travis Head, David Warner, Mitchell Marsh (C), Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Tim David, Matthew Wade (WK), Ashton Agar (In for Pat Cummins), Mitchell Starc (In for Josh Hazlewood), Nathan Ellis, Adam Zampa.

TOSS - Australia have won the toss and they have elected to BOWL first.

On the other hand, England's win over Namibia has put them level on points with Scotland. Now, the equation is simple for Scotland, where a win will see them through. However, a defeat will bring the NRR into play, where England have the advantage. How will the nerves be right now for Richie Berrington and Co.? They seldom get the chance to play against Test-playing nations, and facing the mighty Australia in a must-win game of a global event, the pressure couldn't be any higher. This edition has seen several associate nations challenge the top sides. Could we be in for an upset? What a story that would be for the Scots. Toss and team news in a bit.

Australia have been the team to beat this edition and are already through to the Super 8 with three wins out of three. Except for the game against Oman, where they were under a bit of pressure in the first half of their batting effort, it has been smooth sailing for Mitchell Marsh and his men. With not much riding on this game, Australia will look at it as an opportunity to rest some players and give game time to Ashton Agar, Cameron Green, and Josh Inglis, who have not played in the group stage so far.

Hello everyone! Welcome to our coverage of the game between Australia and Scotland at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet, St Lucia. As we approach the last game of Group B, it's set to be a grandstand finish as two European rivals, England and Scotland, jostle for the last remaining Super 8 spot.

... MATCH DAY ...

We are nearing the climax of Group B, with the last group game featuring Australia against Scotland at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet, St. Lucia. With Australia already through to the next round, Scotland and England are vying for the last remaining spot. England's thrashing of Oman has significantly boosted their NRR, jumping from -1.8 to +3.091, putting them ahead of Scotland. If England win their match against Namibia, Scotland will need a win against Australia to pip England on points. However, if Namibia cause an upset, Scotland will qualify regardless of their result against Australia. Mitchell Marsh and Co. are poised to advance to the next round and have little at stake in this encounter. As a result, they will use this game to rest their players and give game time to the likes of Cameron Green, Ashton Agar, and Josh Inglis, who have not featured in the competition yet. Having missed out in the game against Namibia due to not pulling up well, Mitchell Starc might feature to regain rhythm for the Super 8s, possibly replacing any of Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, or Nathan Ellis. On the other hand, Scotland will look to put their best foot forward against the Aussies, who do not have much to gain from this clash. That said, Australia has strong bench strength, and taking them down will be anything but easy for the Scots. What has worked well for Scotland is the fact that they have not had to rely on a couple of individuals for run-scoring, with Brandon McMullen, Richie Berrington, George Munsey, and Michael Jones all making valuable contributions. Matthew Cross is yet to have a significant impact, and he will be hoping to deliver for the side in this crucial fixture. On the bowling front, two of the most experienced players in their setup, Mark Watt and Safyaan Sharif, have not lived up to expectations and must contribute effectively against a strong Australian batting unit. Brad Wheal has shone brightly in the pace department and will look to carry his form into this game. Josh Hazlewood's cheeky comment in the press has indeed sparked interest and anticipation, and it hasn't gone down well with the English fans. Who will come out on top in this high-stakes clash?
