Right then, that’s it from this game and the series. The trophy has been handed over to Mitchell Marsh who joins his team and poses for some pictures. Australia will now prepare for the New Zealand tour which is about to begin in a couple of weeks while the West Indies players will join the various franchise leagues. Until then, goodbye and cheers!

Mitchell Marsh the skipper of Australia is up for a chat. Marsh says that they were in a great position in the first innings but couldn't kill the game. Adds that Windies are a formidable side and they were on the wrong side of it in this game. Mentions that it is nice to win the series and see the young guys doing well. Ends by saying that Bartlett has had a great year and he will only get better from here.

Rovman Powell, the West Indies skipper is up for a chat. Powell says that it was great to come here and win as Australia is always strong at home. Adds that they had good plans but just could not execute in the first two games. Mentions that they had a chat about how good are the Aussies but they cannot let them score 240 in a T20I. Tells that it is good for the players to have confidence, Rutherford was struggling in the first two games, but he was much relaxed in this one and got the result. Further says that as a young captain, he has a lot to think about and they may need to look at the players who are doing well in the franchises. Ends by saying that he is off to Dubai and hopes that Dubai Capitals wins the Eliminator so that he can play in the next game.

David Warner is the Player of the series. He says that it started well for them in this series and it is good to see some guys get the break and freshen up before the New Zealand series and then the World Cup. Adds that it will be great to spend time with his family and especially with his daughters. Mentions that there will be bigger boundaries in the Caribbean and he has prepared for that. Ends by confirming that he will retire after the T20 World Cup and this was the last time he played a T20I in Australia.

Andre Russell is the Player of the Match. He says that they did not start the series like they wanted to and had to catch up but played good cricket in this game. Adds that it was a total team effort and he is just happy to contribute. Mentions that the early blow on his hands acted as a wake-up call for him and the wicket was good with good bounce on it. Tells that he was ready for the challenge and credits Rutherford as well for his performance and says he never had any doubts about him. Further adds that he is glad that they are peaking at the right time and consistently scoring 200 runs in this series is a good thing and they just need to work on their bowling which will make them a serious threat.

Time for the post-match presentation...

Roston Chase is up for a chat. He says that they had a team talk and did not want to leave Australia without a win. Adds that the boys gave their all and they got the victory which feels good. Tells that he thought it was a good score and they decided to bat first to put runs on the board and put pressure on the Aussies. Mentions that Warner is a wonderful player and it felt good to pick up his big wicket. Praises Russell for his knock and says that they call him Superman and that 19th over shifted the momentum towards them.

West Indies were much better with the ball today and they did the job when it mattered. The batters set up an excellent score for them and the bowlers backed it up very well. Romario Shepherd, Alzarri Joseph, and Roston Chase picked 4 wickets among them and did not go for plenty. Earlier today, the Windies made 220 on the back of runs from Sherfane Rutherford and Andre Russell while Roston Chase also played his part and had an excellent outing in both departments. West Indies came close in the first two games but will be pleased with this result and have finished the series on a winning note.

A commanding all-round effort by the West Indies sees them defeat the mighty Australians by 37 runs. Chasing a mammoth score of 221 for the win, Australia started well with David Warner (81 off 49), going all guns blazing and attacking the pacers from the word go. However, once the spinners came in, the scoring became difficult and the required rate went up. Hardie, Maxwell, and Inglis struggled to get going in the middle order. Tim David tried hard at the backend but fell short. Both teams have played some fine cricket throughout the series but it was the Men in Maroon who came out victorious today.

Commentary

We are back for the chase! The West Indies players are in a huddle and then they spread out to take their respective field positions. David Warner has a new opening partner in Mitchell Marsh. Alzarri Joseph to start proceedings with the ball. Here we go...

... THE RUN CHASE ...

Australia, on the other hand, started brilliantly with the debutant setting the tone by picking up a wicket in his very first over while Behrendorff followed it up with another. Bartlett got another in his second over, and even though they let the batters settle in, Zampa and Hardie made sure to half of the opposition back to the hut inside. However, after that, they were hit by a powerful Windies storm and just did not have any answers. They conceded 84 runs in the last five overs and Adam Zampa ended up with his most expensive T20I spell. Spencer Johnson did manage to get rid of Andre Russell in the last over but by then all the damage was done. Their batting unit has scored more than 200 runs in the last two games, but now they will have to do with the pressure of the asking rate. This will probably be the last T20I innings for David Warner in Australia and he will want to lead the charge for the Aussies. It is going to be an exciting run chase. Join us in a bit for the second essay.

Andre Russell, one of the architects of the Windies innings is up for a chat. He says that he is happy to entertain the crowd and contribute to the team. Adds that they were 5 wickets down but wasn't going to panic and he knew Rutherford is a dangerous player and a few more were still to come and just went for his shots. Mentions that he knew that was the last over for Zampa and last over of spin as well, so, he decided to just take on every ball of that over. Ends by saying that the wicket is pretty good but if they bowl good lines and lengths, they can win the game.

After electing to bat first, the top order failed miserably as Johnson Charles, Nicholas Pooran, and Kyle Mayers all went back cheaply inside the Powerplay. The move to promote Roston Chase worked out well as he counter-attacked nicely along with the skipper Rovman Powell. They set up a good platform with a 55-run partnership but unfortunately were dismissed in quick succession putting them on the back foot again. Dre Russ took a nasty blow early on, but that only woke him up while Sherfane Rutherford struggled very much initially but hung around there and did not throw his wicket away. Andre Russell continued to attack from one end, but once his partner got set, he took a back seat and enjoyed the Rutherford show who notched up his maiden T20I fifty in the process as well. Russell went bang bang in the second last over and smashed Zampa for four sixes, but got out in the last over after smacking 71 off just 29 balls while Rutherford remained unbeaten on 67.

West Indies have put in a strong batting effort here! The whole crowd in the Optus Stadium is on their feet applauding Sherfane Rutherford as he walks back to the hut. It was the Russell-Rutherford show here and everyone here has been thoroughly entertained with their Caribbean flare. West Indies were struggling at 79/5, but a massive partnership of 139 runs between the dynamic duo has given the Windies a really good chance of finishing the tour on a good note.

An anti-climatic end to the innings but West Indies have done the damage in the last 5 overs or so! Spencer Johnson steams in and bowls a wide yorker, Romario Shepherd stays leg side of the ball and fails to squeeze it away. The batters decide against going for a bye and West Indies finish with 220/6 on the board!

19.52

Full and outside off, Romario Shepherd throws his hands at it and slaps the ball away along the turf in front of the man at sweeper cover for a couple of runs.

Romario Shepherd comes out to the middle now.

19.4W

OUT! CAUGHT! High again but not long enough this time and Andre Russell departs after an absolute colossal knock. This is bowled full and on off stump yet again by Spencer Johnson, Dre Russ continues to stay deep in the crease and goes after it. The ball is launched high and toward long off where Maxwell comes in a bit and takes a simple catch. Russell walks back and Australia have some respite.

19.36

SIX! High, high and just long enough! This is bowled full on off stump, Andre Russell stands well deep in the crease and lifts it off the toe end of the bat. Glenn Maxwell tries to settle himself right on the ropes at long off but the ball goes over him for a maximum.

19.24

FOUR! Smashed away! Banged in short and outside off, Andre Russell stays deep in the crease and slaps it away in front of square on the off side for a boundary.

19.11

Hard length over middle and angling in, Sherfane Rutherford gets an inside edge while looking to pull and gets it off the pads in front of mid-wicket. They cross for a single.

SIX! A hat-trick of sixes to end the over and Adam Zampa has been taken to the cleaners here. Right in the slot and at the stumps, Andre Russell simply clears the front leg and clobbers this one straight back over the bowler's head for a humungous six. 28 off that over!

18.56

SIX! Oh, that has gone all the way as well and the FIFTY is up for Andre Russell. This is tossed up wide of the off stump, Russell just reaches out and powers it over the cover-point fence for a maximum. This has been a blistering knock from De Russ so far.

18.46

SIX! Adam Zampa's most costly spell in a T20I game and he still has a couple of rocks to go. A full toss now over middle stump, Andre Russell thumps it straight back over the bowler's head for a maximum.

18.34

FOUR! A desperate dive from Tim David in the end but in vain. Way too short and over middle, Andre Russell mistimes the pull flat and hard towards cow corner. David at long on is late to move across and the ball bounces over the ropes.

18.20

Swing and a miss! Pushed through a bit quicker and fuller outside off, Zampa gives this one a nice rip as well. Andre Russell sits down for the slog-sweep but misses the ball completely.

18.16

SIX! Slogged away for a flat six! Dropped well short and over off stump, Andre Russell just muscles the ball off the toe end of the bat and it flies over the man at long on for a maximum.

Adam Zampa to bowl the penultimate over. This is a massive over in context of this game. Zampa has conceded 37 runs in his first three overs and picked up a wicket.

17.51

Excellent execution yet again from Jason Behrendorff as he gets the yorker perfect on off stump. Andre Russell can only under-edge it toward short fine leg for one more.

17.41

Nails the yorker now on leg stump, Sherfane Rutherford manages to dig it out toward short fine leg and picks up a single.

17.32

Full and straight, Sherfane Rutherford keeps the front leg out of the way and digs it out in front of mid-wicket for a couple of more runs.

17.24

FOUR! A bit edgy again but deliberately done by Sherfane Rutherford and that is smart batting. Slower ball, into the pitch and outside off, Rutherford throws his hands at it and gets it over backward point for another boundary.

17.16

SIX! Up, up and away! Sherfane Rutherford is putting on a show here. Poor delivery from Jason Behrendorff though as he bowls it short and into the swinging arc. The ball just sits up and Rutherford swivels a bit before pulling it high and over deep backward square leg for a biggie.

Jason Behrendorff (3-0-17-1) replaces Spencer Johnson.

16.54

FOUR! Edgy but will do nicely and Sherfane Rutherford brings up a maiden T20I FIFTY. This has been a brilliant change in momentum from Rutherford and the Windies are looking dangerous. This is pitched up full and outside off, Rutherford has to reach out again but gets enough bat on it to take it fine of a diving Adam Zampa at short third man for a boundary.

It will be Kyle Mayers to open the batting for West Indies alongside Johnson Charles. Xavier Bartlett has the new ball in hand will get proceedings underway with the ball here in his T20I debut. Let's go...

Australia (Playing XI) - David Warner, Mitchell Marsh (C), Aaron Hardie (In for Marcus Stoinis), Josh Inglis, Glenn Maxwell, Tim David, Matthew Wade (WK), Xavier Bartlett (In for Josh Hazlewood & On Debut), Adam Zampa, Spencer Johnson, Jason Behrendorff.

West Indies (Playing XI) - Johnson Charles, Kyle Mayers (In place of Brandon King), Nicholas Pooran (WK), Rovman Powell (C), Sherfane Rutherford, Andre Russell, Romario Shepherd, Akeal Hosein, Alzarri Joseph, Roston Chase, Jason Holder.

TOSS - West Indies have won the toss and elected to BAT first.

West Indies, on the other hand, showed fight in both the games, but couldn't get over the line. The problem for them has been their bowling as they have conceded a lot of runs. Alzarri Joseph has been their standout bowler but will need more support from others. As we have seen over the years, they do have some strong power-hitters like Nicholas Pooran, Andre Russell, and skipper Rovman Powell, but the only thing missing from their game is they need to perform as a collective unit to have any chance of beating the Aussies. Will the Windies finish on a high? Or will the hosts complete the whitewash? We will find out soon. Toss and team news in a bit.

Australia have been absolutely brilliant in both the games especially with the bat. They have scored well over 200 in both games which also includes a sensational hundred from Glenn Maxwell in the last game. They do pose a pretty dangerous batting line up and it is difficult to get away from them as someone or the other will get you eventually. Surprisingly Marcus Stoinis have done well with the bowl while Josh Hazlewood continues to be their most consistent frontline pacer across all formats of the game.

Hello and a warm welcome folks! We are at the Optus Stadium in Burswood for the 3rd and final T20I between Australia and West Indies. This has been a good preparation for both sides with the T20 World Cup not too far away. The Aussies have already sealed the series and will be eying for the whitewash while the Windies will hope to end their tour on a positive note.

... MATCH DAY ...

West Indies tour to Australia has been a pretty long one and it has been a tour that has provided us with some fabulous memories as well in Tests and in the T20Is but the ODI series was pretty one-sided. It is now time for one last game on the tour as both teams gear up for the 3rd and final T20I to be played at the Perth Stadium in Perth. Australia have won the series 2-0 already but will be eyeing a whitewash just like in the ODI series whereas West Indies will be looking to end the tour on a high. The first two games of the T20I series saw both teams score more than 200 runs in every single innings and we witnessed some unreal hitting. The 2nd T20I in Adelaide was a remarkable one as Glenn Maxwell aka 'The Big Show' did in fact put on a big show as he scored his record-equalling fifth T20I century and played some unbelievable shots on the way too. David Warner looked good at the top once again but the thing the Aussies will be happy about would be Tim David consistently firing in the death overs, something that had gone missing in the past year or so. Spencer Johnson got a game in and the left-arm quick once again made his mark and he just continues to show that he can roll with the big boys. The hosts will look to tighten their bowling a bit as the pacers did go for plenty, especially Jason Behrendorff who isn't quite enjoying bowling at the death. West Indies on the other hand have been able to conjure up something of a comeback with the bat in the death overs but inconsistency at the top of the order and in the middle order cost them both games. The likes of Brandon King, Shai Hope and Sherfane Rutherford haven't been able to string two good performances in a row and most of the work has been left to the likes of skipper Rovman Powell and Andre Russell, both of whom did a fine job in the last game but they simply had a mountain to climb. The bowling has been patchy with Akeal Hosein simply not being able to weave his magic in the Powerplay but Alzarri Joseph did bowl a stellar spell in the last game and he looks like the only one who tries to improve every game and give it his all. The Windies need to bowl well as they have enough batting depth to score big but if they keep conceding well above 200 runs every time, even that muscle power won't be able to chase it down. Can West Indies end their tour Down-Under with a win? Or will Australia overpower them yet again? We shall find out.
