Right then, with that, we wrap up this final warm-up game ahead of the main league stage of the T20 World Cup 2024. India clinches a commanding victory over Bangladesh. India will now gear up to take on Ireland to commence their mission of winning the trophy, while Bangladesh will look forward to kickstart its campaign against Sri Lanka later next week. The commencement of the league stage is just a few hours away from now, as the hosts USA are all set to begin their campaign against their northern neighbors, Canada in the inaugural game of the league phase. The match is scheduled to start on June 2nd, Sunday with the first ball set to be bowled at 6 am IST (12:30 am GMT). Do join us for the pre-match build-up. Till then, cheers and take care!

Earlier in the game, India chose to bat first but struggled initially as the batters adjusted to the new conditions of New York. Sanju Samson couldn't hold on and was dismissed early. Rohit Sharma also fell after a promising start. Rishabh Pant and Suryakumar Yadav then formed a responsible partnership, with Pant taking charge and accelerating the innings beautifully to score a brilliant fifty, while Yadav also contributed with a quick 31. After SKY's departure, Hardik Pandya came in all guns blazing and played a magnificent clutch inning in the backend smashing 40 off just 23. In the chase, Bangladesh couldn't gain any momentum and lost wickets at regular intervals. The Indian bowlers severely disrupted their batting order. However, Mahmudullah and Shakib Al Hasan formed a crucial partnership but Bangladesh was way too behind in the game by then.

India, on the other hand, began strongly with the ball. Arshdeep Singh struck in his first over, posing tough questions with conventional Test-match lengths and good swing. Jasprit Bumrah bowled with precision, keeping the Bangladeshi batters in check. Mohammed Siraj then claimed a wicket by hitting the deck hard and capitalizing on the pitch's assistance. Arshdeep removed Litton Das with a stunning delivery, helping India take control of the game. Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel then each claimed a wicket in quick succession and dented the middle order of Bangladesh badly. The spinners, Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav, may not have taken wickets, but they effectively compounded the pressure with their economical spells. Hardik Pandya got a wicket to his name whereas Shivam Dube came in as a surprise package in the backend picking up two to his name which led India to a dominating victory over their sub-continental counterparts.

India win by a comfortable margin of 60 runs in this final warm-up game of this ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. Bangladesh struggled from the start, unable to handle the ball's early movement. The ball repeatedly beat their outside edges, with Soumya Sarkar falling in the first over and Litton Das following soon after. Najmul Hossain Shanto's dismissal left Bangladesh in tatters as they limped through the Powerplay. Towhid Hridoy's brief and struggling stay at the crease also came to an end as he departed for 13. Tanzid Hasan couldn't sustain as well and threw his wicket away under pressure. Bangladesh lost half of its side below 50. The veteran duo of Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah then formed a resilient partnership, but Bangladesh was already too far behind. Despite this, they managed to keep the scoreboard ticking. The two complemented each other well, putting together crucial runs and showcasing all their experience. But in the end, they badly collapsed and faced a thumping defeat.

Commentary

We are back for the chase! The players are making their way out to the middle now. Tanzid Hasan and Soumya Sarkar are the two openers for Bangladesh. Arshdeep Singh to start proceedings with the ball. Here we go...

... THE RUN CHASE ...

Bangladesh, on the other hand will be a bit dissappointed with their effort in the field as they dropped a few chances and their bowlers also could not really be consistent with thier lines and lengths. Shoriful Islam also got injured in the last over and they will hope that it is not a serious injury. Mahedi Hasan, Mahmudullah, Shoriful, Tanvir Islam were the successful bowlers all picking up one wicket each. The wicket is a bit on the slowish side and the Indian spinners can come in hand while defending this totla. Join us in a bit for the second essay.

A solid batting performance from India! It started a bit slowly as Rohit Sharma and Sanju Samson took their time to adopt to the conditions but the latter was dismissed quite early. Then the skipper took matters in his own hands and played a few lusty blows but he too could not stick around for much long. It was then SKY and Rishabh Pant who looked like they were batting on a completely different surface and smashed it all around the park. Pant scored an excellent half-century and then retired out while SKY blasted 31 off just 18 balls. Shivam Dube struggled a bit out there but Hardik Pandya provided nice finishing touches with a smacking 40 off 23 to get India to a good total.

Swing and a miss! Bangs it short but the ball dramatically keeps low on the bounce, just on the fourth stump line, Hardik Pandya throws the kitchen sink at it to heave it away over the leg side but misses and laughs. India finish at 182/5.

Halt! Shoriful Islam has hurt his fingers and unfortunately he is going out of the field now. It will be Tanzim Hasan Sakib to finish the last over.

19.50

Goes fuller this time, at the stumps, Hardik Pandya spanks the ball off the bottom half of the bat, straight to the bowler. Shoriful Islam surely looks in some pain out there as the ball stung the inner part of his left palm. That must have hurt Shoriful.

19.44

FOUR! Just short but a boundary whatsoever. Short in length, on the bodyline, Hardik Pandya swivels and pulls it over square leg for a boundary.

19.30

Takes the pace off from the ball, on a nagging length, on the top of the off-pole, Hardik Pandya gets on his toes and looks to cut it away but gets beaten on the outside edge.

19.21

On a length, closer to the body on middle, Ravindra Jadeja pulls it aerially and the ball lands ahead of deep square leg for a single.

19.21wd

WIDE! Sprays it down leg on a fuller length. Wide given.

19.11

Full and wide outside off, Hardik Pandya squeezes it through the cover region for a single.

SIX! BOOM! Flatter one outside off, Hardik Pandya makes room for himself and slaps it over extra cover for half a dozen more runs.

18.42

Tossed-up delivery around middle and leg, Hardik Pandya swings his bat trying to go over deep mid wicket. The ball balloons high up in the air over mid-wicket and lands between the three converging fielders. Two taken.

18.30

Tossed up around middle and leg, with a bit of a turn and bounce, Hardik Pandya throws his bat at it for a big heave across the line and misses, and the ball goes over the stumps to the keeper. Litton Das whips the bails in a flash and the TV Umpire confirms that Hardik has got his feet grounded and inside the popping crease. NOT OUT.

18.21

Length on middle and turns in sharply to cramp Jadeja who was coming down the track. Jadeja nudges it in the on side and robs a quick single. Litton Das again gets to the ball quickly and has a shy at the stumps at the striker's end

18.10

Jadeja survives a scare here. Quicker on off, Ravindra Jadeja knocks it to the off side but is too close for a single. Hardik Pandya sends him back and Jadeja retreats and reaches back in time. Litton Das gets to the ball quickly and has a shy at the striker's end.

17.51wd

WIDE! Over-the-head-bumper on the top of off, Hardik Pandya misses to ramp it up. Wided anyways.

17.31wd

WIDE! Good length, going down the leg side, Ravindra Jadeja misses to connect. The umpire signals it for a Wide.

17.21

Hard length again, outside off, Hardik Pandya slashes it hard off the inside half of the willow through covers for a single.

Outside off, on a length, it keeps straight off the deck, Ravindra Jadeja sits down to swipe it across the line with the sweep shot but misses out on the connection. The wicket-keeper, Litton Das collects the ball cleanly and flashes off the bails in a flash. The decision is sent upstairs. After checking on with multiple angles, the side-on replay shows that Ravindra Jadeja has got some part of his boot inside the popping crease. NOT OUT then.

Ravindra Jadeja is the next man in.

16.5W

OUT! TAKEN! Suryakumar Yadav departs and India lose their fourth wicket! Tanvir Islam lands it around off, on a shade fuller length, Suryakumar Yadav steps out to launch it behind long on but mistimes it off the inside half of the bat, and hence, doesn't quite get the distance. The ball carries straight into the hands of the long on fielder.

Oh..attacking start from the skipper! Mahedi Hasan tosses it up, full and on off, Rohit Sharma goes inside out and lofts it over extra covers for a couple of runs. India gets underway!

We are all set to begin! Skipper Rohit Sharma along with Sanju Samson are the two openers of India and the two stride out to the middle. Also, Virat Kohli is not participating in this warm-up game for India. Mahedi Hasan has the new ball and will bowl the first over for Bangladesh. Here we go...

Bangladesh - Litton Das (WK), Tanzid Hasan, Towhid Hridoy, Najmul Hossain Shanto (C), Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah, Jaker Ali, Soumya Sarkar, Mahedi Hasan, Tanvir Islam, Shoriful Islam, Rishad Hossain, Mustafizur Rahman, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Taskin Ahmed.

India - Rohit Sharma (C), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, Sanju Samson, Rishabh Pant (WK), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal.

TOSS UPDATE - India won the toss and elected to BAT first.

PITCH REPORT - Russell Arnold is at the 22 yards. He begins by saying that it's a beautiful day in New York. Adds that it is a drop-in pitch and it has got a good covering of grass on it. Reckons that the ball will come nicely onto the bat and thinks 180-190 will be a par score.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, haven't been at their best recently and it will be a nice challenge for them to face a strong Indian side. Najmul Hossain Shanto will lead the side and will also be one of the key batters alongside Litton Das, Soumya Sarkar, and Mahmudullah. Once again, the onus will be on Shakib Al Hasan to contribute with both bat and ball. Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, and Shoriful Islam will be their frontline pacers with Mahedi Hasan and Rishad Hossain supporting Shakib in the spin department. Despite the recent lack of form, they have a balanced unit and can be a dark horse in the tournament. Stay tuned for toss and other updates.

India have named a strong squad for the World Cup but it will be interesting to see how their batting order will look like here. The form Virat Kohli is in, they can go with him and Rohit Sharma as openers while they can also go with Yashasvi Jaiswal. The middle order is stacked as well with players like SKY, Shivam Dube, and Hardik Pandya. The injury to Shami is a big loss but Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, and Mohammed Siraj make up a good pace attack while Pandya can complement them well too. Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav will lead the spin attack but this game will mostly be about adapting to the conditions.

Hello and a warm welcome folks! The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 is just around the corner and it is time for the last warm-up match. We will finally see India in action and they are going up against Bangladesh for the final preparations before the main event.

With the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 about to start, teams are tweaking their game plans and experimenting with lineups in the warm-up fixtures. India is set to face Bangladesh in its solitary warm-up match at the Nassau Cricket County International Cricket Stadium in New York before they kick off their league phase journey against Ireland later. The Indian squad is fired up and looking strong, aiming to bring the trophy home this time around. With Rohit Sharma, the skipper at the helm, the batting order features stars like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli. Kohli's presence alone amps up the intensity to a whole new level. And after his stellar performance in the recently concluded Indian T20 League, in-form Virat Kohli will look to carry forward that momentum into this mega tournament. The star-studded batting lineup further bolsters with the powerhouses like Suryakumar Yadav in the mix. The middle order is explosive, featuring the return of the in-form Rishabh Pant alongside Sanju Samson, giving India two strong wicket-keeper batter options. Shivam Dube's brute strength will be crucial for dramatically inflating the scoring rate in the backend. Vastly experienced players like Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja will be key with the bat to provide those clutch finishing roles and also serve as dependable bowling options. India has opted for a spin-heavy attack, including the trio of Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, and Yuzvendra Chahal, making it four spin bowling options in total. The pace attack looks threatening with Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh and the marquee pacer Jasprit Bumrah leading the charge. On the flip side, Bangladesh is still smarting from a rough series defeat against the USA, which is definitely going to sting them for a while. With Najmul Hossain Shanto as the skipper, and players like Towhid Hridoy, Litton Das, and seasoned pros like Mahmudullah and Shakib Al Hasan, they're itching to bounce back strong. With Taskin Ahmed back in the pack as the vice-captain, their bowling line up has got a boost. Bangladesh's initial warm-up game against the USA was washed out due to rain. However, their practice match against India serves the perfect platform as they prepare to face one of the probable favorites, and to brush up their skills before heading into the main business. Given the history between these two teams and them sharing a history of some historically memorable encounters in the shortest format, and also, with the weather being fairly clear and pleasant with no rain in the forecast, it promises to be a mouth-watering contest for sure.
