Najmul Hossain Shanto did not stay out for long but Rahim and Tamim Iqbal are amidst a good stand. Bangladesh just need the 49 more runs and they will look to score it quickly after the break. What a session for Bangladesh! They have scored more than 130 at a quick rate and trail now by just 44 runs. The hosts lost Mominul Haque early on but once Shakib Al Hasan came in and changed the complexion of the game. He just started to hit boundaries regularly and in no time raced away to his fifty. Rahim too followed him with his fifty. Ireland on the other hand had the start they wanted but as the game progressed, they had to chase the ball more often than before. Hello to the action of Day 2 between Ireland and Bangladesh. Day 1 was pretty eventful with 12 wickets falling altogether. Ireland showed promising signs with the bat but didn’t live to the expectations as few batters got a start but failed to capitalise on it. Taijul Islam was the star with the ball as he picked a five-fer. In reply, Bangladesh had to bat for a small passage but lost both the openers. Now the hosts will look to build a stand and hope to not lose any wickets in the first session. Stay tuned for more updates.

Ireland will be pretty pleased with the 10 overs they have bowled after being bowled out! They have got two important wickets and have kept themselves well and truly into the game. A good session for Bangladesh but they have a lot to improve. They took three wickets but they were too wayward in the first hour, the seamers mostly which resulted in for runs but once the spinners came in, they got three wickets in three overs and got Bangladesh right back in this game. Ireland though bossed courtesy of Tector and Curtis Campher as both stitched a stand of 74 with Tector scoring a fifty but both fell in quick succession. Ireland were in pressure but Tucker and McBrine have shown some promising signs and Ireland will hope these two blossoms for a long time. Interestingly, Shakib yet again didn't bowl in this session. Will we see him in the final session? We will find out soon.

A good session then for the hosts! They were asked to field after Ireland won the toss but head with their noses ahead into the break. They struck early courtesy Shoriful Islam, Ebadot Hossain then did not take long to make an impact. Andy Balbirnie and Harry Tector then tried to steady things and were looking good but Taijul Islam struck. Curtis Campher and Tector though ensured there were no more wickets to fall before the break. The two now need to apply themselves and put up a good stand. Bangladesh on the other hand, will want to continue the good work. The element of surprise in the first session was that Shakib did not come onto bowl but we might just see him soon with the ball in hand. A tricky second session awaits for the visitors. Can they come out on top then? We will find out.
